MATUGUINAO SAPA COLD SPRING | WONDERS OF MATUGUINAO SAMAR

The most-visited water park in Matuguinao because it is situated just within the proper of the town. Stone’s throw from the MPS and Tourism office. The water is emerging from the ground through an opening and it flows through the river which is delightful for soaking for many visitors.
✔️HOW TO ACCESS IT?
It can be accessed by 2 or 4 wheels with all concrete road probably 20km from the town of Gandara Samar. If you are from Catbalogan, that would take 45 mins of travel using 2 wheels. Environmental pay is 15 pesos/head. Bawal and burara. The penalty amount is served for littering violations.

✔️COLD SPRING MYSTERY
Matuguinao is located in the heart of Samar Island. But I used to wonder why I saw some saltwater fish in the Cold Spring. How there is a sea fish in the middle of the mountain of the Island of Samar? Someone explained to me that the hightide can reach near the river of Matuguinao from Gandara. But still, I am not convinced. The fish that I saw is a family of Balo Fish which we called Sugi. Aside from the presence of the sea salt fish, there is also a source of hot springs on the other side of the natural pool. What do you think?

✔️ CAVING AND SWIMMING
Just above the MPS and Tourism office is the spectacular Cathedral Cave. It can be accessed within 20-30 mins of walk. You will need to enter the narrow entrance of the cave and be amazed on the inside. The inner is so wide that you can play football. After that, you can now swim at the Sapa Cold Spring. If you still want more, you can try the Bago-tan Rapids 1 and 2 in the east part of the town. Approximately 5 mins of the ride from the proper.
