I enjoy using wild yeast. It's really easy to harvest/capture and can produce very interesting flavors.

I assume any ripening fruit has wild yeasts on the skins. Plums for example get that foggy skin look like grapes do.
I'm goin to try this with a couple buds off my pot plants and see what happens.
I made 5 gallon of mash with leaves and sugar last year it was pretty awful 😖 maybe the yeast will be different

I used apple skins to make a yeast starter for a cider.
Getting ready to pick plums soon had the most beautiful plum brandy that was brought back by a landscaping clients family like 5 years prior from Romania and wonder if his family that made it did similar it was beautiful mild note of plum as you find in Redman or something over a smooth as can be tested 87proof clear as can be likker
Beautiful, lots of traditional Slivovitz is made using the wild yeast on the plum! One of my favorites!

Yeah my experiment catching yeast went ok .but I didn't save my yeast colony..... wanted to wait until summer to collect from some native tree flowers and try it all again

Yeast is cold sensitive right, can it be harvested in winter, does it just go dormant and can be brought back just by bringing to room temp? Where would you find it in winter?

heyy, compared to man made yeast (the ones that comes with package or so) which one is aggressive?
lets say im using wild yeast from grapes compared to distiller yeast?
ive been fermenting few of mashes, sugar, syrup, banana, rice, but got not the expected result as other tried
it could be in the proccess of fermenting or maybe the still set that I used (pressure cooker pot and 12 mm dia copper pipe)

Hello brother, I live in Iran and unfortunately I do not have access to corporate yeast (wine yeast is illegal in my country and cannot be imported)😔. I would like to make wine. Please name the ingredients that were in the bottle.🙏❤️
@@Omidrezà60 I generally use sugar and flour. Around 1 cup each per quart jar
@@hipgnosis2My friend, I didn't understand what other things you had mixed in the glass container besides grapes and sugar?
Since it's winter and no fruit are barring could you use the stock of say a raspberry or wine berry. I noticed some of that white film on them and planned to mix up some mash in some jars to see if they'd take off but I wasn't sure if it was actually yeast I'm looking at or something else.
