I disagree with you here Dr. Graham, and that doesn’t happen often. If I eat before true hunger sets in, food doesn’t taste good. If I drink before I’m thirsty, I don’t feel satisfied. I think listening to what your body needs and giving it that exact thing is much better advice. The hard part is getting in tune with your body and actually being able to listen to it. I’m somewhat surprised that you explained this topic in a way that basically promotes a habit that is not health promoting, which is eating before true hunger sets in. How in the world would vegetables taste good if you try eating them before you’re hungry? They literally taste like bark, but if you eat them when you’re truly hungry, they taste like candy.

Timmy J I agree, intuitive eating (as well as occasional fasting) can be extremely health promoting.

Yes but what he’s saying is our intuition is off because we aren’t as in tune with our bodies as we normally would be, therefore we have to relearn what it’s like to be truly hungry and thirsty. He’s not going against intuitive eating 😊

I also agree with you here, Timmy. Bad advice for a novice trying to achieve health.

It seems that he is simply saying, eat before you're hungry and drink before you're thirsty. These recommendations are not in line with intuitive nutrition at all!

yes, it doesn make any sense indeed then because the hunger and thirst signal would be useless.

Thank you Dr Graham for sharing this video....I agree; and with juicy fruit, salads & green smoothies....one can keep hydrated better than those on cooked / mixed food diet / unbalanced living.

It is strange to confirm that what Dr. Doug Graham is saying on this video clip also appears on Patañjali's yogasūtra.

But what about when you feel true mouth hunger for cooked food? In a way that you only feel (at times) for cooked food? Is that then stimulation cravings? Or perhaps true hunger for an item our body still hasn't weaned itself from?

You didn't say anything about hunger in the mouth. You said and showed the throat. 😕🧩
