Even after the game was emulated and the rate was lowered, you still constantly get in fights making the game longer and more repetitive than it needs to be. Since it’s the first rpg Itoi made, he didn’t realize it’s not fun to bump into an enemy every time you take a step. Who would’ve thought?

@Pikafan2132 2 things: - The doll is actually a boss because he only appears in one part of the game and he is stronger than the other enemies. - I don't think defeating the dragon without Ana or Lloyd is stupid, i think that's awesome.

I know this is really late and shit but, to get the franklin badge you need to rescue Pippi and then talk to her mother, and you have to choose wisely how you're going to respond to her and then she will give you the franklin badge

I would like to thank savestates, rope, and Defense Up α for the battle. Also the Dragon fight reminds me a lot Starman DX because you can either brutally slaughter him (Dragon: Super Bomb or PK Freeze Γ then bash; Starman DX: Multi Bottle Rocket or PSI Shield Ω for PK Starstorm) or take your time fighting him.

@gamegod9000 I've played the game both with the easy patch and without the patch. In all honesty, I prefer the easy patch. The game is then more enjoyable to me. :3
I beat the Starman Jr. without the franklin badge on MY first run. I proceeded to have an inventory so full, without knowing anything, thinking I could return to Magicant without the Onyx Hook. I had to reset the game.
The thing about the fish: You used the easy patch, so you got to level up higher. If you don't take the time to grind in this game and get to the fish, it is absolute hell.
Also, the dog isn’t the easiest because u can still die from it. The tank boss and the boss on Mt. Itoi are easier imo because u can’t Die. Now, if you were to do the R7037 without a tank, then it wouldn’t be so easy

Its actual name is MOTHER; the name "EarthBound" was simply given to MOTHER 2 for its American release to prevent confusion. You can call EB0 whatever you want, but keep in mind that EarthBound is just a dumb name given to us dumb Americans for minimal confusion overseas.

I didn't even have the franklin badge, and I beat the starman jr. I just used the rope that I found in the zoo, and he couldn't even move

I never equipped the franklin badge. So thats why I kept dying against the jr starman. I just kept praying until he eventually stopped moving.
