There called rushton dolls. Also I am also drawn to things that are cute but scary lol I also love things from the 50s and 60s
Not really. Because Rushton doesn’t make their dolls eyes like that at all they are painted on. And the design of the face in general is way different. Also Rushton isn’t the only kind of doll like this. Like there’s Gund and Knicker bocker.

Funny enough recently I found dolls with some kind of material for the face like these but more cuter(I don't think it's rubber). They're blind box plushies called Kimmon & Cino

cabochons to the paper design for the eyes?
May I ask how you attached the face to the plush body? Were you able to sew it on or did you have to use another process?
Hot glue, my love! It was a messy process so I left it out, if I had an industrial sewing machine it would've been possible to sew it though!
@@Rendds Thank you for letting me know! I plan to cast doll faces and try to put them on plush bodies, but wasn't quite sure how people have been putting them on so securely! Thank you again for getting back to me.
@@SkyderStudios hey, I plan to do the same. Did you manage to sew the face? I don't really want to use hot glue. Also if you did, while you cast the rubber face did you poke holes through it or did you leave like a border around the face to sew the fabric to?

I sadly never got to make the doll since I was having issues finding a proper alternative for vynyl. I was going to cast in a soft type of resin potentially!
I still plan to make the doll and sew on the face so it is washable. I am going to cast the face thin and make small puncture holes around the base to later sew. I got caught up in so many other art projects I had to shelf this one. Still have all the parts though! Just need to make the molds once I can afford to.
@@frostskyder I'm going to use the method from distortions unlimited (they made a tutorial on halloween masks), you need latex, plaster, clay and gloss spray paint. At least where I am from, it is pretty cheap for a small project like this. I also think it's better to have the face thicker so it holds shape (I'll let the latex sit for an hour). I'll be able to start the project in a couple weeks, if you want to I can tell you how it went.

what did you use to remove the factory paint? Was it acetone? I wish you could do like a tut and mention what materials you used because I have a Kitty Surprise doll and this is such a cute idea!
I've used acetone nail polish remover to take off the factory paint. Just make sure you wash it with soap afterwards so it doesn't eat away the rubber.
oh I thought you were gonna paint the fabric that's what I'm looking for, but good video and interesting anyway :D

Did you make the cat face that you turned into the lamb, or did you buy it? And if so, where did you buy it from?
And what powder did you use to color the face? Does it stay there without fading or washing off?

They have a lot of different companies! I think Gund, and knickerbocker are other ones, but Rushton's are my favorite
