Great video, chevy emc connector..the small pegs on the ecm connector has broken so i lost the ability to anchor in the wiring connector. I have managed to reconnect it but its not locked in. Any suggestion especially the broken peg is on the ecm unit, not the harness connector. Thanks russell
Can the outer casing of the plug be taken apart further? I broke the latch on mine. Won’t draw it in tighter anymore. Will I need to re pin the wires to a new plug or can I just replace the casing/ latch setup??
My rx8 pcm has a fault p 0610 that I can’t remove or clear I’m told need to take it out and send away to get programming again. Iv ordered some manns contact cleaner going to try cleaning all wires and Iv a voltage meter check everything hope it works. My pcm has them bolts to stop people removing them
James Truxal thank you very much I couldn’t find out what they were called and tried researching everywhere and came up with nothing..you should make a video about replacing those and where you can get them and so on..people are changing the whole connector because of that lol
I have a 2002 Mini Cooper. After losing my power steering 1400 miles after a recall was performed on it, I called and rescheduled another appt. I was told the ultimate problem was a 16 amp fuse that was located in a fusebox under the engine fusebox. For a $10 fuse they wanted $400 plus dollars to put it in so I ordered the part and told them I would do it myself. Upon getting it home I noticed a wire hanging under the front of my car. I jacked it up to find that they forgot to put the power steering fan back in as well they didn't reconnect the power steering pump! RAH! I dropped the car and was looking at the fusebox I am going to need to take out and noticed they also forgot to reconnect the ground to that box as well as another connector that comes off the positive PCM connector. Not seeing here or in the Chilton where this connector coming off the PCM connector goes. Was hoping to see something here on this video but It's either already plugged in and can't be seen or the cars you are working on don't have them. Can you help me out here? wish I could download a picture of it but seems like only emoji's are allowed. TIA!
I have replaced a pcm in my 1999 Dodge/Ram Truck RAM 1500 1/2 ton 2WD 3.9L FI OHV 6cyl. I am looking for where to either find the grey plug or can it be rebuilt and how?
Caterpillar started installing these fucking connectors too on their new junk from Japan, most come from TE Connectivity , they almost made me buy the chicken and farm today brother

What if the black piece is stuck and will not allow you to lift lever to remove the connector?
What happens if you switch those and try to start the car?

The breakout box is a much more methodical design in my book.
Definitely. But if you don’t have a breakout box for your exact pcm connectors, then this is what you will need to do.
If I disconnect all plugs will my car need a type of re learning process?
It shouldn’t as long as you have the ignition/key off when you unplug things, and leave the ignition off until you plug it back in.

mine is broke wont tighten guess thats why my car wont start
