    Hey Man,
    I have been working as a power BI developer for more than 1.5 years and the way of your teaching is something extraordinary.
    I have seen many videos of Dax, but people who are teaching are expressing themselves like they are full of knowledge and even they are showing that DAX is rocket science and unable to break down this easily.
    Kudos to you brother that you made it simple. I subscribed to you and wish you all the best in your future.
    Love You, Brother.

    Hi Sir,
    In scenario 1, we can take 'Today' function instead of 'Max(calender(date))' function right? in Datesinperiod function.

      Yes if you are working with real time data

    Second Scenario is not working for me, still it is showing rank 1 to all
    Rank = RANKX(All(Sales_Data), CALCULATE(SUM(Sales_Data[Sales])))

    For third scenario, we could have used YEARTD function

    In scenario 2 rankx is not working. Too few arguments were passed to the rankx function. The minimum argument count for the function is 2.

    Your videos consistently offer excellent content and valuable insights. This one cleared up a long-standing confusion I had between rolling sums and running sums, and I'm genuinely thankful for that.😇
    If possible, could you please offer a solution for scenario 1, where dealing with inconsistent dates or months when calculating rolling sums becomes a challenge? Your content is highly appreciated, and I'm looking forward to more of it in the future.

    • @emilyamalkin4367
      @emilyamalkin4367 11 місяців тому

      You need to link your “inconsistent date” to the date in the date table (which is always consistent) , and then use the date from the date table to calculate your totals.

    Can't we use direct functions for running total like YTD, MTD type ?

    • @datatutorials1
      @datatutorials1  8 місяців тому +1

      How will you use these functions here. ytd is based on financial year and mtd is for current or latest month in dataset

    I guess there's some conflicts in Rolling Month Sales Addition, It's not giving rolling sales accurately. I would like to request you to please check if this is correct or not.

    Rolling12MonthsSales =
    CALCULATE(
    SUM('orders'[sales]),
    DATESINPERIOD('orders'[order_date], LASTDATE('orders'[order_date]), -12, MONTH)
    )
