This mindf*ck of a level was my favourite out of this game. It was unique and had interesting ideas. It also started to make me think about Ratchet's psyche, how his time with Clank and everything they've encountered has affected him. His garage with a mirror in it, a moment of longing and self reflection when times were simple and he was a nobody. Memories of past villains and Qwark, who he used to look up to, decipted as creepy threat. His life had become an infinite struggle and the game even starts with his vacation in Pokitaru getting ruined. It was fascinatingly deep and changed how I viewed Ratchet as a character. I felt pity for the poor guy. It was weird as hell but honestly really thought-provoking.
@@wefgra1047 I probably look way too much into it, hah. It was that part with the garage and the mirror that got me thinking. It stuck with me. Though I don't believe it was all random without meaning. The studio must have put some effort and thought into it (why they chose to include the things they did etc.). It would kind of fit Ratchet as a character as he maybe wouldn't express these kind of things outright but keeps it to himself in his (drug-induced) dreams. I mean he has endured a lot so it wouldn't be surprising if it has affected him this way too.
I believe the nurse quarks were supposed to represent how deep down he was terrified of quark the eyeballs I don't know where they on drugs I'm curious
Actually I think the eyeballs were at the begging to let u know u were hallucinating the game shows ratchet sleeping but that might be made to be misleading he could be having nightmare like hallucinations
I don't even know how long I was stuck on this as a kid. The fact that everything was unnatural and didn't make sense, a place where the Laws of Time and Space don't exist, Enemies just popping out of nowhere, the whole place looking the same, random figures floating in the air that appear and disappear as soon you figure out what they are, no such thing as up and down As an 8 year old kid who wasn't all that smart, it was really hard for me to get through this I hated it before but now I love it
Well a fun fact the mission description is split into two parts the first part telling you the player that this whole world is a fake stage nothing more then a strange coma dream and the second part which is split by / for extra surreal comedy and obsurdness just says FIND A WAY OUT!
everything about Size Matters was trippy. It was stylistically calling back to the first game more than the rest, but everything just feels slightly off. It has the depth of the first game that other sequels didn't somehow. The lower textures and less-refined user interface really made the whole game feel like a blurry fever dream or acid trip, it was a perfect way to cover up the limits of PSP graphics, and a perfect sendoff of Ratchet and Clank one last time before David Bergeaud left and the games became fundamentally different. Size Matters is highly overlooked
Yo, coma is similar to sleep. Once you fall into it, you dream. You might not realise it right away once you’re awake, but you dreamt that period of time you were unconscious. Crazy stuff
This level was probably the most memorable in this game. One of my favorites for sure. I really enjoyed the music in it as well, which is why I’m here.
@@neofox2526Bruh literally same. I remember this level and the music freaked me out so much I would always make sure my PSP was shut off before bed, I actually thought my PSP was haunted from this level and music.

tbh the whole comatose sequence was my absolute least favorite level of the whole game. it was a bit too long for me and was really unsettling when i played it as a kid. now that i got around to listening to the OST, i think it’s pretty clever how the music has a bunch of sound effects relating to Ratchet hearing things while being in a coma, like breathing in a mask, heart rate monitors, and emergency alarms.
Really like how its multiple earlier melodies remixed into a pretty cool almost ambient song there are elements of veldin tabora orxon gemlick base obani moons and dread zone am i missing any elements those are the melodies i hear
All the world’s a stage; And all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts.

Ratchet does not have Clank with him, so he cannot glide. Take that into account when making long jumps.
