Fun-fact: The actor playing the inspector who awkwardly gestured his gun around (scratching his shoulder or adjusting his hat with the barrel, and unnecessarily pointing it at people) actually performed all of said gestures intentionally. He constantly did that during filming to see if Ed Wood would ever notice.
Fun fact: When Mulder was stuck trying to solve a problem, he would watch Plan 9 from Outer Space. He called it the Ed Wood method of problem solving. As of the year 2000, he told Scully he had seen the movie 42 times, which is also Mulder's apartment number and the answer to Life, The Universe and Everything ...
Fun fact: Tor Johnson, who was also a successful businessman, had learned to speak without an accent years before this movie was made. For some reason, Wood actually *told* him to use his accent.
You know Ed Wood passion is more like Tommy Wiseau. They are both famous for the wrong reasons, but their stories and passion are just both so endearing. You can't help but love it.
@@NuclearLemonade This. Wiseau seems very arrogant and he only rolls with the reputation _The Room_ got because it got acknowledged. Wood on the other hand? Man did trash movies for pure passion and was so damn swell about it.
I’m not even a fan of Ed Wood’s films but I admit that I do feel sorry for him after hearing about the aftermath of his fame. I mean, the guy struggled with clinical depression and alcoholism due to the stress of being considered the worst director of all time. While I don’t like his movies, he is far from the worst director ever. That title belongs to Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer.
Difference between Ed Wood and Friedberg/Seltzer is despite being incredibly misguided in all aspects of filmmaking, Ed Wood was legitimately trying to be a good filmmaker, and wanted to be respected and had a legit passion for filmmaking. Friedberg/Seltzer come off as a bunch of immature frat boys who never grew past their college days and knowingly make movies that insult the intelligence of the audience. They have ZERO passion for filmmaking beyond a paycheck.
*Fun fact:* The actor who played the officer fiddling with his gun did this intentionally. He wanted to test Ed Wood's directing skills, and see if Wood would spot it.
I just want to say I admire Sean. It is so hard to be a youtuber. Its really easy for trolls to just insult a guy throught a computer screen. It happens and I think it can affect youtubers. So its really annoying, you know. I just wanna say thank you, Sean. Your videos are awesome. I would like to see you making videos about videogames because i love them as much as I love movies. Hope you consider making videos about games and, so happy to be your suscriber. Congrats for the 100 video
Just found this channel and love it. The reason there is so much Daytime, Nighttime problems is that Wood forgot or couldn't afford the tool that film makers use to solve this problem. Also Torr Johnson used accidentally break Ed Woods toilet seat when he came to visit.
Congrats for the 100th!:) I've been watching you since Eragon and you definitely deserve at least 1000x as many subscribers. A lot of your videos helped me through some rough patches in life so thank you for everything and I hope you keep going indefinitely. Greetings from Slovenia!

You did it, you have made it to 100 EPISODES! Congrats man. However, it was only inevitable that you would talk about a film from Hollywood's most infamous cross-dressing director, Ed Wood.
I never thought I’d congratulate the acting in Manos: The Hands of Fate but most of those actors were members of the local theater scene and you could tell most of them really loved acting and had a great time. The actors who played Torgo and The Master especially. It wasn’t great but compared to the performances in Plan 9 from Outer Space the whole cast should’ve been given an Oscar.
20:51 Stupid fact, for the longest time, noted writer Stephen King REALLY thought that was genuinely Bela Lugosi throughout Plan 9 and the reason King thought he was hunched over was because of Lugosi's morphine addiction. And, yes, this is from King's book on horror Danse Macabre which was written during King's alcoholic period but I'm sure it was just a coincidence and not a form of projection. Still, this was before the rise of home video so that no matter when or how you saw a movie, you were working only from memory.
It's been a long time coming. 100 episodes of Cinematic Excrement. Will it be Suicide Squad? Bayformers 5? The Russian Guardians movie? Adam Sandler? Edit: oh... It's an Ed Wood movie.
Congratulations, Sean. I think I first found your channel through your Krull review back in 2012 or 13 and have been a subscriber since. Here's hoping the gods of UA-cam give your channel continued success.
I must say, I've been watching your videos for years (maybe 6 or 7 at this point) and I still enjoy them. With everything changing so much in today's climate and UA-camrs that I used to love turning out to be not so great, it's really nice to have you and your videos as a nice refuge from all that. So keep up the great great work, buddy. Here's to 100 more!
Congrats on your 100th. I believe I started to watch your show around episode something but it was your The Host review that really got me laughing. (Can we please get another episode with Annoying Bitch as a co-reviewer?) Anyway I digress. Point is, thanks for all the laughs!!
A review about Ed Wood’s works! I knew there was something missing from Cinematic Excrement for all these years and now I know what it was! Nice choice, Sean! This is worthy of a 100th episode!
You should review frankenstein island. It's bad...rrreeeaallllyyy bad. It made plan 9 from outer space looked like 2001 space odyssey. Heck, even manos was even slightly better. I am serious.
First time I ever saw this movie, it was a double feature with Robot Monster (actually a triple feature of sorts, there was an hour of bad movie trailers between the two). Best theater experience ever.
Just want to say congratulations on the 100th episode! I've been following your channel for a pretty long time, though I changed my youtube account during. I think I have been subscribed since your 12th episode. Well anyway, you've been entertaining me for all those years and it has been a joy every time to see your video's! Thanks from Norway!
Hey, started binge watching old 1950 space movies last week, watched Plan 9 with no prior knowledge of the film. I laughed and felt I was being critical of the flashing traffic light that made the spaceship fly, anyway, here I am, stumbled onto your channel and honestly, I damn love it, but two things real quick, the tomb being built was probably from the idea Eddie was writing a movie about a tomb, right? That was probably more extra footage that got shoved into this masterpiece. But also, the preacher guy is in an old interview describing how he his church had nothing to do with the Grave Robber name change and in fact he was also surprised by the change when a friend told him she had seen him in a movie. So, onward to check out the rest of your channel.
You definitely deserve more subscribers this channel is so underrated. Congratulations on your 100th episode and wow Ed Wood of all people I got into him after seeing the Johnny Depp movie.

Thanks. I don't think it would be out of line to say that Ed Wood would've been happy to know that he brought joy to many people - even if it wasn't exactly in the way he wanted to. By the way, that's not the worst flying saucer I've ever seen. There was an old local show (in north-eastern FL), which featured sci-fi and/or monster movies.
