There were alot of times where Lucky is saying just use grapple or just use strand but at those points the player wouldn't have access to strand. But makes me wonder if that was all designed during Witch Queen when players were supposed to get strand

I cringe having to go to Neptune, cringe at every sight and sound of Nimbus. All the while wondering, “what the hell is going on?” Absolute L on every level. Bungie should be ashamed of themselves.

It is entirely locked by those strand equip points which DO NOT EXIST IN PATROLS, which means NO GRAPPLE. And as for that part where you mentioned suspending the tormentors, you have, frankly, no ability to suspend with strand at that point in the campaign. I know it’s been a while since we’ve done the campaign, but I mean c’mon. I thought everyone remembered at least these details.

I have skipped more DLC than I have bought. And most of the DLC were only bought when they eventually went on sale. Priced too high for trickled out content, and too many additional purchases like dungeon keys. If the DLC price actually got me everything it might be worth it but I simply feel my money and time are better invested elsewhere.

My guess as to why Strand might have been delayed to Lightfall is that Bungie realized that Lightfall didn't have any kind of hook to bring in buyers. So they moved Strand to Lightfall to give the players something to drool over.

The biggest issue is they split their team into half, if not thirds and only one team works on D2 now. Bungie Corporate is completely incompetent and has no real idea of how to run this company anymore. They are doing anything and everything to get as much money as quickly as possible and not thinking at all about the products themselves. The moment you stop caring and just make your own product the best it can be instead of using it to make more money than someone else, then it will make enough money. Who tf cares if it's better than someone else's product? If it makes enough to make a good enough profit to continue evolving it, then they shouldn't care! That is the failure of development corporate thought processes. They just want it to make more money than their self-proclaimed "competition". There is no competition if you just ignore them. There is only succeeding or not succeeding in your product. They have more passion and innovation in outpacing other companies than they do in their game--that is just sad. Besides, in all honesty, there aren't many companies that can actually outpace Bungie even if they do that. They should’ve just pushed Witch Queen 1 more year, bolstered 30th anniversary a bit more and given players a huge Witch Queen expansion with 2 locations, 1 raid + raid lairs in a Leviathan-like large traversable area made up of pyramids with an underbelly to explore more mysteries, and all this lore under 1 roof. Could’ve even had the discovery of Neptune area be the result of Savathuns deeply kept secret she remembers after regaining her memory, and have the inhabitants there be enemies not powered by light or dark, and call them something cool like “The Infested” because their power engulfs them in a way as if it’s creatures infesting their body. Satiating our desire for lots of darkness lore and at the same time giving us a sneak peak at what might be the future beyond the Final Shape.
Like others have said Quality of Life changes don't make a DLC. QoL is to be expected and writing off criticism by saying "Well we got QoL stuff instead of more content so it's okay" is a bad argument. By using that argument you're saying you're cool with paying more for less actual content if they fix their own mistakes and "sell" it to you.
Played 3 weeks of Lightfall, haven’t been back since. Didn’t even do the raid. This expansion was such a flop, and Bungie doesn’t care. So in turn, i won’t either.

The best point I've seen made about the veil explanation (by November Hotel I think) is that it falls outside the Lightfall expansion and within the current season, which will be removed from the game eventually. So how will the Lightfall & veil story work for newcomers when the veil explanation doesn't even exist anymore. A very good point!

I agree with the point about the Witness lore reveal cutscene. It should have been included within the Lightfall campaign, even if it was just an Osiris voiceover while the ending cutscene played. He expositioned the rest of Lightfall, might as well end it that way.
I had the same lift falling issue but found out the reason why is because you are supposed to look sideways and then it doesn't dump you short of the platform, great testing by Bungie

As for the lift in the campaign mission where he kept falling, it's framerate based. I had this issue on pc while my friends on console did not. After capping myself to 60fps it worked just fine. Another friend on pc had to go down to 30fps for it to work as well.
LIghtblade dealt a huge blow to buildcrafting as a whole. we lost so many mods which allowed for so many coool interactions. Ill give 10 in game loadout slots up in a heartbeat in exchange for the old system,
For most of the problems you say just use strand..... you don't actually get the starnd subclass until after completely beating the campaign....... or you can buy the item that boosts power and gives you strand.... but thats a different dead horse and its been beaten enough

They could even throw us in there as humans defending, or as a new light guardian who was just revived at the start of the war and we get items based on how many waves we do.

As someone who started playing destiny 2 a few weeks before lightfall launch. I thought lightfall was good. I currently think the game is good. What sucks right now is that the community is upset with lightfall and the game as a whole. All the negative energy kinda sucks when I’m just getting into the game. But I wasn’t there for the “glory” days of D2 so I can’t truly understand.
I've gotten to the point now where I only log in for story updates, which right now is just to get the weekly Veil Containment dialog and that's it. If the up the powercap next season it wont' be because they need to, it'll be to force players to do something to make sure they're logging in enough each week to keep playing. I've become pretty apathetic about this game and depending on the next two seasons I may not even play The Final Shape. I might just watch Byf videos for story updates and end it there.

I see what you were getting at by talking about the amount of quality of life changes. However, it’s not exactly apples to oranges the way you put it. The older dlc may not have had those QoL changes but they had content worth the money spent because you paid for it. QoL changes are free for everyone (aside from levels) meaning it’s completely reasonable to feel shafted when getting jack shit and fuck all in terms of paid content that’s equal to or more expensive than past expansions that had more things to do/ better narrative. Bungie is a billion dollar company they don’t deserve any sympathies for selling a terrible product.

I warned Bungie that LF changes, making game harder, would drive core players away and yes, old clan is gone playing other games. Yeah, these guardians never got conquerer nor most seals but yet bought expansions... I'm still playing, have new clan, and seeing same issues. New lights can't compete in new meta. Bungie doesn't help them either.
Cloud Striders implementation felt EXACTLY like when they introduced Captain Marvel in the 11th hour of the infinity war saga. not the right time to invite new all powerful characters into the dynamic range of already overpowered and loveable characters. It felt too forced and it made me not like them at all.

For me the taken king campaign was one of the best campaigns I’ve played in the destiny universe.

The gravity lift was definitely a glitch if you were running over 60 FPS. If you locked frames at 60 you made it no problems.

If a game is fun and playable-instead of just making one or two perfect aspects-then it wouldn't matter if other devs make a single perfect aspect because the rest of the game would suck ass, as shown by how Destiny is currently. The whole must be worth the money, not just one aspect having every bit of money thrown into it while making everything else the bare minimum to simply function.

They should’ve just pushed Witch Queen 1 more year, bolstered 30th anniversary a bit more and given players a huge Witch Queen expansion with 2 locations, 1 raid + raid lairs in a Leviathan-like large traversable area made up of pyramids with an underbelly to explore more mysteries, and all this lore under 1 roof. Could’ve even had the discovery of Neptune area be the result of Savathuns deeply kept secret she remembers after regaining her memory, and have the inhabitants there be enemies not powered by light or dark, and call them something cool like “The Infested” because their power engulfs them in a way as if it’s creatures infesting their body. Satiating our desire for lots of darkness lore and at the same time giving us a sneak peak at what might be the future beyond the Final Shape.
Like others have said Quality of Life changes don't make a DLC. QoL is to be expected and writing off criticism by saying "Well we got QoL stuff instead of more content so it's okay" is a bad argument. By using that argument you're saying you're cool with paying more for less actual content if they fix their own mistakes and "sell" it to you.
Played 3 weeks of Lightfall, haven’t been back since. Didn’t even do the raid. This expansion was such a flop, and Bungie doesn’t care. So in turn, i won’t either.
I wish I could be this strong. I was so incapable of quitting destiny I had to quit video games altogether and I don’t have any happiness anymore :)

You know the crazy part is, you as consumers, you have to read between the lines when it comes to business…. So when Bungie says something as trivial as “we change the ‘we make makes we want to play’ to ‘We make worlds that forges friendships’”, it takes the pressure away from the devs to play the game like they used to. Now with the new philosophy, they really don’t have to play the game much and just ship some half assed product. Charging more money for less content.
The Witness needed Calus as much as Thanos needed the black order. He could do it on his own, but far easier to have the minions fail, then do it on your own.

Wouldve been better of we started with neomuna lights and then calus literally destroyed the whole place with a darkness wave and all the lights were gone, everything was dark, grey, and black. Filled with fires and building remains. Only the veil remains undamaged

The best point I've seen made about the veil explanation (by November Hotel I think) is that it falls outside the Lightfall expansion and within the current season, which will be removed from the game eventually. So how will the Lightfall & veil story work for newcomers when the veil explanation doesn't even exist anymore. A very good point!
@@alphern no it can't. It has a major reveal about 'the' main baddie in the entire series. Everyone was running around during Lightfall going "wtf is the veil? This makes no sense".
Bungie confirmed that the cutscene was too important to remove and would remain when seasonal content goes to the vault.
I agree with the point about the Witness lore reveal cutscene. It should have been included within the Lightfall campaign, even if it was just an Osiris voiceover while the ending cutscene played. He expositioned the rest of Lightfall, might as well end it that way.
I had the same lift falling issue but found out the reason why is because you are supposed to look sideways and then it doesn't dump you short of the platform, great testing by Bungie

Quality of Life fixes should never be a selling point for an paid expansion in a Live Service game. Its named Live Sevice for a reason....you are giving them a huge pass for lack of compelling content for QoL which was free for all players.

The Tormentor complaint was more that in a decade, destiny has been unable to add more than one new enemy faction without a caveat.

We didn't have strand at those points in the campaign remember, we only got it at basically the end of the campaign. So that couldn't be the reason, bungie just messed up lol.
I tried iron banner today on ps5. I'm a playwr all the way from vanilla d1. I consistently died by cheaters. Just a name and a red shape. Lag everywhere. They need to look at this game. It really Is turning everyone who loved pvp to just not even getting on.

As for the lift in the campaign mission where he kept falling, it's framerate based. I had this issue on pc while my friends on console did not. After capping myself to 60fps it worked just fine. Another friend on pc had to go down to 30fps for it to work as well.

For most of the problems you say just use strand..... you don't actually get the starnd subclass until after completely beating the campaign....... or you can buy the item that boosts power and gives you strand.... but thats a different dead horse and its been beaten enough

I think what I hate the most about LFs narrative is that, before everything that happened it was made pretty clear that everyone thought Osiris was completely crazy about neomuna. Like even IKORA thought Osiris was losing it, yet when we’re show he was completely right they did nothing.💀 like all that set up lore never existed

You said the 30th anniversary pack was used to fill in the gap caused by Covid slowing down production, and that this is a “filler” expansion.

No better time then the final shape to drop a horde mode, it’ll be the witness at the end sending his ally armies to attack, calus cabal, xivu hive and eramis fallen, and maybe vex, to attack different places and we have to defend for as long as possible. They could even throw us in there as humans defending, or as a new light guardian who was just revived at the start of the war and we get items based on how many waves we do.

The retcon'ing has made the story feel like complete BS. Something like a 6 year old with ADHD makes it up and changes directions every time he looks around. Such little care and negating investment from the users in the game.
That amount of hours equates to 13.5 hours a DAY since the steam release. Sounds like a lot of idle hours to me.

As someone who started playing destiny 2 a few weeks before lightfall launch. I thought lightfall was good. I currently think the game is good. What sucks right now is that the community is upset with lightfall and the game as a whole. All the negative energy kinda sucks when I’m just getting into the game. But I wasn’t there for the “glory” days of D2 so I can’t truly understand.

I've gotten to the point now where I only log in for story updates, which right now is just to get the weekly Veil Containment dialog and that's it.
If the up the powercap next season it wont' be because they need to, it'll be to force players to do something to make sure they're logging in enough each week to keep playing. I've become pretty apathetic about this game and depending on the next two seasons I may not even play The Final Shape. I might just watch Byf videos for story updates and end it there.

I see what you were getting at by talking about the amount of quality of life changes. However, it’s not exactly apples to oranges the way you put it. The older dlc may not have had those QoL changes but they had content worth the money spent because you paid for it. QoL changes are free for everyone (aside from levels) meaning it’s completely reasonable to feel shafted when getting jack shit and fuck all in terms of paid content that’s equal to or more expensive than past expansions that had more things to do/ better narrative. Bungie is a billion dollar company they don’t deserve any sympathies for selling a terrible product.
TBH Ive hated this series since they locked the ability to choose crucible mode unless you bought Dark Below.

I don't care what anyone says. Lightfall was suppose to be the climax of all these years. It ended up being horrible. I only stick around for closure. Gone are the days of good lore.
I warned Bungie that LF changes, making game harder, would drive core players away and yes, old clan is gone playing other games. Yeah, these guardians never got conquerer nor most seals but yet bought expansions...
I'm still playing, have new clan, and seeing same issues. New lights can't compete in new meta. Bungie doesn't help them either.
Cloud Striders implementation felt EXACTLY like when they introduced Captain Marvel in the 11th hour of the infinity war saga. not the right time to invite new all powerful characters into the dynamic range of already overpowered and loveable characters. It felt too forced and it made me not like them at all.
