When you go 1-11 on third down conversions chances are you not going to win. I'm surprised it was this close.
And the one first down they got was a questionable one.
The Texans had a season high in penalties, that is what helped the Colts stay in the game. There were at least a few where they had the 3rd down stop but got penalized and gave the Colts another chance instead of forcing a punt/4th down.
@@freddyrod2948 yea

As a 49er faithful I'm so proud of what Demeco Ryan's has done in Houston
Also slowik..both him an demeco man

@@BlackBull614 and?
@@conquisitorveritas And he's an awesome guy.
I think Demeco just solidified his coach of the year award. 1st year head coach with a rookie qb and got into the playoffs.
I still think it’s Stefanski. I mean, dude literally made the playoffs with four separate QBs. Campbell, Demeco, and Steichen are all good candidates but Stefanski’s job I feel was the hardest.
Nah not when you play in a weak division and barely squeak out a win against a colts team that was 1-11 on 3rd downs.
Should be Kevin stefanski. Not only are they playing in a tougher division with the ravens being the best league in the league (and the browns beat them once) but they went through 4 different qbs and still solidified their playoff spot by winning double digits.
@@AssfaceOmega not a fan of either team but easily demeco for me.
Y cuz the guy dropped a wide open pass
Winning games because the other team drops the ball isn't coach of the year material 😂 he lost to the falcons and panthers lol
If you can’t execute a play like that then you don’t deserve to make the playoffs. Simple as that.
The ball was thrown behind the rb. So blame the qb
@@matthewcooper412a little behind. Ball still hit dude in the hands.
It’s so funny when people try to boil an entire season down to them not executing that play. Incredible analysis
@@LukeParodiMusic I've watched literally every snap of the Colts this year and what the OP said is absolutely accurate. We were a mediocre team taking advantage of a very soft schedule. Stroud is literally the best QB we've faced all year. We were wildly inconsistent versus good and bad teams alike all year long. And we are extremely young and/or inexperienced at a lot of positions for various reasons. If your Quarterback can't make that throw and your running back can't make that catch (regardless of WHO that personnel is or what they make per annum) then you don't deserve it. And my team has proven they do not, indeed. It saddens me but Stroud was fantastic and definitely DOES deserve it.

I would have called a run by Jonathan Taylor. That being said, in the NFL, you catch that pass.
You gotta make that throw.
“In the nfl, you catch that pass”
Not this season 😂
Honestly it was a really poor throw. Yes, he could have made the catch, but it was by no means easy.
Or at least have Taylor on the field as a decoy... With him off the field, everyone knew it was going to be a pass
Nonetheless as a Texans fan since the franchise started (again) in Houston, this was a moment to celebrate!
He and MVS and Kadarius Toney should watch the Pro Bowl together.
I like how certain qbs get no blame. You gotta do all that extra crap after qb makes a crappy throw. Wide open and minshew messed up.
Horrible throw.
Drop was worse than the throw
@@yerp5115 maybe
@@mkhanman12345He had to get the ball around the edge rusher and not lead the RB to keep him from getting blown up by the safety who was closing. RB had two hands on the ball and couldn’t make the catch. But he’s a 4th stringer with like 6 catches all year. Why is he in the game?
Taylor got you to that point in the game. Dude was having an amazing game. You give him the ball in that situation. No other play should be called. Taylor got you there. You ride your horse.
If u saw the game you would see they had him run it right before and he had to check out for a play but aight bro, anyone can coach from the couch
They called a timeout they could have ran the ball. It is what it is.
@@D.Jay.. you really need to relearn this game….
Stop arguing over WRESTLING WEIRDOS….it’s rigged
I get your point, but the play call was perfect. Easy pass and catch..they just didn't execute it. The reason they lost was because they gave up those two long plays, when the Texans got first downs after needing 20 yards.
Unfortunately that drop may end up getting that guy cut from the team since he was already a backup and only had 6 catches all year.
It could have been a better pass but he should have caught it.

I was half paying attention to the game tonight, and every time I looked up the Colts receivers dropped a ball. I caught at least 6 drops, who knows how many more I missed.
the stats would tell you
Great segment! Found everything Troy Aikman said.... interesting and focused. A new experience for me!
All three agreed, "That's just sports." and the reason we watch. If that catch is made, the whole table is flipped. Great drama.
If you dodge a wrench, you can catch a football… or something like that.
I saw that live and I was mind blown on how it happened.
Minshew threw it a bit short
And THAT is why minshew is a backup! 👎
Colts made the right call it was just a poor pass by a backup quarterback 😢
Exactly. Too hard and Behind the guy
QB had no pressure on him. Zero reason to throw it that fast to a RB?
Not a receiver who is used to change of direction catching, while running?
A RB w 6 catches Allll season?
Bad , rushed throw by the QB
Nah. Look at the field. He was throwing it so Goodson could get the first down and immediately go out of bounds. Goodson turned the wrong way. If he turns the other way he catches it and runs out of bounds.
@@rgtunderworldrgt7773nope, the rb turned the wrong way. Can’t blame the qb when he was throwing it where it needed to be in that moment.

As a Colts fan this game obviously hurts. That being said we have a great head coach who put us in a position to make the playoffs in his first year with a team that all the "professionals" saying we'd be lucky to go 500. This was before AR went down. The potential AR showed in his short time before being hurt is ridiculous. I'm extremely optimistic about the direction we're headed. 31 needs to be cut though. Dude should've made that catch. Hats off to the Texans. They definitely got a stud qb for the future.
Wes Welker dropped a similarly slightly off target but definitely catchable pass from Tom Brady that ended a drive in a Super Bowl against the Giants. Instead of killing time and adding points, the Patriots fell to the Giants.
Great catch man

You play your star players in critical situations.
Let’s not ignore how bad the throw is, stop calling it “the drop”. Both sides at fault
The play was there i dont put it on the call. Like taylor had an amazing game but he was hurt and right at the end we were actually struggling running the ball. The stuffed us multiple times on that last drive. All im saying the nfl gonna be struggling if ar stays healthy next year.
I hope to God I'm not the only one who really loves the dynamic duo of Joe buck and Troy Aikman. These 2 gentlemen are probably my favorite color commentators across all the major sports networks
You'd rather have a game decided on a bone headed play, rather than a bone headed call. A bone headed play is part of the game, every now and again players will have a bad play, no matter how good the player is, everyone makes bad plays sometimes.
They should’ve ran JT 🤦♂️ HOU couldn’t stop them all night running, I mean he should’ve caught it for sure but give the ball to your best player in that moment man, That’s what you do with your BEST players USE THEM in BIG MOMENTS!!
I gotta say as a lifelong Giants fan and it pains me to admit this, but Troy has become an excellent analyst
No. No he has not. He is boring and bitter most calls. I always find a radio broadcast if I can when he is doing a game. Just my take….
Much better than that fruit cake Phil Simms when he called games. Sims was the absolute worst
Plain and simple. Receiver should have caught that ball
Mrs McNair coming thru with the “LES GOOO”🤘🏼🤘🏼
True, he should have caught it.
right playcall but bad throw/dropped ball
both teams played a great season nobody expected them to be in it in week 18
I can’t understand why they don’t also acknowledge that defensive end Will Anderson was being blocked and put his arms up and had to screen the ball for some fraction of a second but enuf for him not to see the ball and it was slightly behind him, but certainly catchable. I think they are taking away from a great defensive play knowing he can’t affect the QB with a sack or pressure, but can affect the pass or deflect which he has a couple deflections. They’re trying to blame the receiver or the play call. He was open, the defender made him miss. Great play!
This guy would fit right in with our receivers corp in KC. At least 3 losses were directly due to drops, plus another for goofball Toney lining up offsides on a game winning TD. Tough watching guys making millions drop passes after hitting both hands.
That’s gonna sting for a while… 😣
For a lifetime. Don’t try and act like your pain meter isn’t at 100 right now. In 20 years you’ll be like at 80%. Remember the Seahawks interception? Yeah not at that magnitude but it’ll be a painful memory for you to remember!

The funny thing I see in this video is that Troy wanted to say something about the play and they didn't let him speak on it. Troy knew it was a bad pass... 😂
The Texans should thank Lovie Smith
Colts shouldn’t have called a timeout before the play. Keep Taylor on the field and get that yard rushing since he was chewing up yardage all game long and run down the clock. By calling it, it made the situation all or nothing and that was a timeout they could’ve used later in a situation they needed to score.
Agree. They totally stopped their own momentum.
Perfectly called play. Professional players just have to execute...just catch the ball. That was just so routine it's amazing the ball was dropped.

Backup QB throwing to an undrafted RB with the season on the line instead of handing it off to your best player for 1 yard, it’s a bad call because of who you have out there, you throw to a guy with 6 receptions all season it’s a bad call idc that he was open, he was open and they still couldn’t connect
Marshaun vibes
yet
You gotta make a better throw. Sorry. Should have caught it but it's a tough catch, ball is behind him, has to turn, etc. Looks easy on TV but try it yourself and see how hard it is. The winning qbs, the real starters in the league (some at least) will make that throw. That's why. Period.
Agree in principle, however they get paid millions of dollars to make the catch. It should of been caught period, separates clutch WR from place holders.
ESPN was eager to put the blame on Goodson in their article
I think the pass was trash. Goodson is running, so the you have to put the ball in front of him
This is why Minshew is backup, not a starter. This is why the Colts ran the rock for over 200 yards, and Minshew only threw for 133 yards on 13/24 passes. Minshew is not that dude.
Texans lined up offsides on the play like Dee Ford and it was not called. Official was looking straight down the line.
He should have made the catch obviously but is anyone going to point out it was a shitty throw?!
Flashbacks of the Michigan game on new years
Big call I def woulda stuck with the ground. Good game tho. Cj gonna be a star
Gardner missed the throw. He should’ve caught it, but it should’ve been thrown better.
lol, headline written by Minshew’s Mom.
What does it say about a head coach who trusts the season to an untested rookie who spent a good part of the season on the practice squad?
Stroud made it to the playoffs, but he has no gold pants!
❤ Troy and Buck, best in the game 😊
Yea, Joe gets too much grief from people, he is a very good play by play announcer and Troy has really become an excellent analyst, he might be the best in football right now.
Having RB three in on that play.. the most important by the season was idiotic in my opinion
Even Joe prefaces sports statements with “Well, I mean..” while others use “Ya know, I mean…”
Did the receiver dance and do all the shenanigans after he dropped the ball, that’s why I dislike all the celebrating when you do something your supposed to do anyway
Atleast Buck was not hating on the Texans like did on the Astros
Hmmm... I wonder if the Colts *caught* this malady from the Chiefs. 🙂
I frickin looove me some CJ!!!! That guy is legit!
Such a bad throw by Minshew, he had no pressure in his face & he got trigger happy for no reason
Indy doesn’t ever deserve the playoffs, not until they get rid of Irsay. The only reason he isn’t the worst owner is because Washington had Snyder(who is gone thankfully), Carolina has Tepper and LV has Davis. Irsay is as bad as Davis and slightly better than Tepper.
Buck is passing the buck, trying to avoid controversy. The whole game and that drive Taylor was moving the pile. If he was injured, then do the pass. If not, you give it to your horse for ONE YARD. I'd say Vegas would bet on the run more than that pass.
What a way to go into the off-season! What they actually needed was the same (or less than) the two yards that they got in the 2-point conversion earlier which would have given them another first down. It looked easy for them the first time. Not on Goodson: the Colts should never have been in that situation by that time in the game. Just sayin’
Why Zach moss and Jonathan Taylor weren't in there is beside me
indy 24th in league in converting 3rd downs. tough to win football games with a stat like that. but, “that’s just sports”
Now how about some context. Young rookie QBs don’t have the success they do not for all the rule changes
Shout out to CJ Stroud. I though because he comes from OSU, where trash QBs are built, that he would be just another piece of trash, but he has been one of the best NFL Rookie QBs in history
To take a team from 3 wins to the playoffs, and only turn the ball over 6 times, all season, is unprecedented. You can make the argument, after Lamar Jackson, he should be 2nd in MVP.
Maybe if we hadn’t spotted them a touchdown to open the game it wouldn’t come down to one pass for our guy to drop. We lost like losers lose
What a great game. It didn’t come down to the play. Colts had many chances but couldn’t figure it out. Oh well on to the next one.
The ponies don't deserve Johnathan Taylor. To take the ball out his hands in that situation was a crime. The Texans couldn't stop him all game.
Bad execution on the play. Was a great play call though. Dude easily had that first down. Maybe stick Zach moss back there tho. He grabs that ball 19/20 times. Throw was off but a rb with better hands makes the catch.
Saw it live and couldn’t believe it 💀💀 homie is gonna blame himself
When your team is named after the removal part of the foot of the horse, why should you even be a team in the NFL? YOU MESS WITH THE BULL, YOU GET THE HORNS 🐂🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽

Jonathan Taylor has to be apart of that play. It's too important to get a guy who hasn't touched the ball all game and then expect him to step up in such a pressure situation.
I think you make the best point in all these comments. Especially with an off-target pass.
It was a bad throw. Minschew has to stick the ball in the receiver's gut to be sure of a reception and he didn't.
If he doesnt throw it behind Anderson knocks the pass down as is he almost did but thats why he couldnt get the ball their look at the tape and you will see the guy is to far in front Anderson is right their in the way
