Fun fact: rats cannot gag or vomit, so Linguine screwed up the soup so bad that he literally broke rat anatomy and physiology lol
U got this from Schaffrillas Productions
vid on Why Ratatouille is Pixar's Magnum Opus didnt u lol
@@mr.potatoman6610 actually vet tech A&P in college
Lmfao. That fun fact makes for an amazing joke
The more interesting part though is the fact that Linguini is Gusteau's son without knowing it and yet felt compelled to try his hand at cooking anyways despite clearly knowing next to nothing about cooking vs Remi who clearly knows a lot about cooking.
The only reason he came to the restaurant for work was his mother told him he could get work there as they knew she was Gusteau's girlfriend once.
The main point being the film kinda shows Linguini in a bad light as cooking talent goes despite starting off at a completely different level of knowledge about cooking as far as the film shows to us.
Even the greatest natural cooking talent couldn't be expected to go from nothing to great on their first day.
stop it XD
19:16 Fun fact: Remy did that because in when he was travelling up (during that scene from the sewers to a roof - where he saw for the first time that he was in Paris) he saw a couple dramatically fighting (the girl with the gun) and then getting distracted by kissing. So he figured "hey, if it worked in THAT situation, maybe it'll work here!!" 😂
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh
i'm so stupid lol
😱😱😱😱 Error, brain damage 🤣🤣🤣
A bit of a theory: Gusteau didn't actually die of heartbreak. When they show his bent over body on the desk it's clear he was poisoned. My guess, Skinner (The Su Chef before Linguinni showed up) wanted to run the business and got rid of Gusteau. He's a slimy little punk, I wouldn't put it past him.
9:10 Linguini was trying to fix the soup, because he had accidentally knocked it over while he was mopping the floor. He wasn't just cooking for the fun of it like Remy.
Weird fact, that rat store is a real place the creators saw when researching in Paris.
Also this film makes me so hungry but I always wanna cook some food after it instead of just ordering something lol
Omg, that rat store was horrifying…
Yah, for sure the greatest amount of visual research Pixar did for Ratatouille was on food and how to reproduce the various types of food stuff in CG, so it's not surprising that it looks appetizing 😅
They even managed to get oily liquids looking right which is challenging asf to do in CG without a lot of complicated fluid dynamics simulation drama 😎
what?! the smell???
I saw a youtube channel that films killing rats in rat traps. I know some people gotta do it to protect their farm or whatever (like the channel I saw) buuuut filming it or people WANTING to WATCH seemed really messed up to me
In my culinary class, my teacher shows us this movie and she's always saying how much she loves this movie since it's so accurate. Including how eccentric all the workers are! AND THE BREAD THING! 😭
If you didn't understand why Colette called ratatouille " a peasant dish " it's because it's not a gastronomic dish so normally it's not the typical dish you can eat in a restaurant like Gusteau's (and it's a french girl who says you that)
Colette is definitely not OCD.
I worked in a kitchen for 6 years and all good chefs are like this.
The bad ones don't care and just leave the place a mess that even the best kitchen porters struggle to keep clean.
Needless to say avoid restaurants that employ them.
6:10 I love how you immediately assumed that the man was the one with the gun, even though it was clearly the woman who had the gun.
It was a typical "man is guilty until proven innocent" moment
@@prasangaperera1 Yeah, clearly good personality traits isn't her strongsuit otherwise she wouldn't be making reaction videos.
@@Shomoa. I love how y’all say this as if you actually *know* her
@@iknowwhatyouare102 ya lol but what he said is true ...people blame on men Until proven otherwise...it's true
@@greybo4034 I wonder why…
Can we talk of how Skinner and Shifu from Kung Fu Panda are perfect opposites tho? Both recieve a young talent who puts in jeopardy the work they've done for years, but where Skinner goes completly mad, Shifu lets go of his ego and becomes an actual master for Po. Very similar situations, vastly different results.
omg your right
Ooh great comparison & analysation!
The title dish is one that was made popular by chef Thomas Keller, who was the chef consultant on this movie.
All the cooking advice you hear in the movie is real advice.
Thomas Keller was the guy that asked what the chef had was new.
“Don’t trust rats”
Rats being smarter than your average dog and forming bonds so strong they could die of loneliness : 👁👄👁
Gross.
@@poluticon Pet rats are not gross. Street rats, well you know to avoid those.
@@poluticon Dogs lick people's noses and sniff their butts. Do not dare to call rats gross.
The only good rat is a dead rat. Disgusting creatures.
@@poluticon You're not only wrong, you're stupid too.
Not so fun fact: Gusteau is based on Bernard Loiseau, a gourmet French chef and restaurateur who killed himself after his restaurant La Côte d'Or was rumored to lose one of it's Michelin stars.
As a french girl, let me tell you the french food isn't only stails or frogs legs 🤭 I don't eat that myself.
You misanderstood the " peasant dish " thing.
Colette says that because ratatouille isn't consider as a gastronomic dish so normally it's not the typical dish you can eat in a restaurant like Gusteau's.
I like how linguini goes from shocked to in pain to angry with his screams in the freezer… 😂
I LOVED this movie growing up. One of my favorite Pixar movies.
I thought it was very funny and creative. Thanks for watching this Sophie.
Oh, you're so welcome! I adore this movie
@@SophieLents question, how can you select the movies you react? since I have another hidden gem that it is worth watch and react called CAPTURE THE FLAG
I use to watch the movie before going to eat lunch to open my appetite
at 2:43, people who were born with Synesthesia are able to do that. Some are able to see colors and visual images when they eat, dance, play games, do math, read, etc. Some can even do both or more than one or all of them.
The best thing about this movie is not only that the film can be interpreted as a critique on food but also art as a whole. Heck, this movie is like a commentary on the whole film industry or even Disney of current.
Love this movie so much, a stirring story about potential, great soundtrack, and loved the reaction. I never knew that I felt bad for skinner until know, and the lady in the beginning just needed some excitement in her life. A little different from what you've been doing lately, but if you have not seen the movie "Saving Mr. Banks" based on the making of "Mary Poppins", I would highly recommend it if it'll push your reaction career into eternity lol
Check out the deleted scene between Gusteau and skinner. Their relationship is quite complex and it isn’t surprising that Skinner would want to keep the restaurant from his departed friend. That said, he WAS using the brand name and not abiding by what Gusteau would want so he’s an villain
6:12 that scene with the guy and girl and the gun she thought the guy had the gun but apparently the girl had it and he said she didn’t have the guts to shoot him and she tired but he moved her arm and made the bullet shoot up.
“Easily impressed? I’m impressed”
The biggest geniuses don’t think much of their talents
15:35 I just now realized how messed up it is the Chef got Linguini super drunk so he'd spill about Remi
"Cualquiera puede cocinar" Sin duda la frase que representa a la película y que es icónica.
Sí, soy extranjero pero disfruto mucho tus videos.
x2 extranjero aqui
I'm a stranger too (I'm french)
Oh, bonjour
X1000
My sister is obsessed with this movie, she’ll watch this movie 24/7
This is Pixar's magnum opus.
And it shows.
Fun fact: This movie contains a cameo of Dug from Up when Remy is exploring the upper world.
"It's a rat, you don't need a shotgun".
Me: You're right. LUCILLE! Is the Air Force on the line?
Ratatouille holds a special place in my heart because it was the first Pixar movie I ever saw in theaters
One of my favorites growing up, and one of the first movies I ever saw in theaters.
Ego's speech is one of the greatest monologues in fiction!
10:27
Those edited screams killed me. 🤣
I actually really liked the HEAD CHEF he was RIGHT the whole movie. But the movie had a feel good lesson but as an Ex-Head cook NAH is gives me anxiety watching this movie 😂🤣😂🤣😂
" Welcome to the Thunderdome."
No No No, that was a accutrately depicted scene for a high Class Kitchen.
It can go Bonkers in 2 seconds and Panic spreads like Wild Fire, when the Maitre d´Hotel and the Chef de Cuisine start talking like that.
And the "diversity" of background in the Team is on point.
Best animated movie of all time imo
Anyone else appreciate Sophie's eye color and eye shadow matching her sweater?...just me?...ok. Looks great! And thanks for another reaction (even though I'm almost a year late)
If you really plan on fleeing the nation just to escape from rats might I suggest Alberta Canada they happen to be the only place on earth that is both rat free and can support human life it's also only two provinces away from where I live
10:06, bit of an Easter Egg. Linguini’s underwear actually has The Incredibles logo printed on it. Both Ratatouille and The Incredibles are Pixar movies Brad Bird directed
A nice combo is black chocolate and orange slices, but i mean real orange and real chocolate.
And can some french speakers confirm that Colette has a isreali accent not french ?
I know for most of people the two accent can sound very similar but it's different.
This is really a Pixar movie more than Disney, but I'm glad you loved it, it's one of my favorite Pixar films! For more Pixar, check out the Incredibles 1 & 2 and also you will love WALL-E :)
As a Frenchman, I can tell you Escargots are a thing we usually only eat at the eve of the New Year, or at Christmas (along with stuffs like oysters, foi gras, saumon fumé, etc). This is quite specific for special occasions. Daily French cuisine is much more diverse (and varies depending on the area of France, each one obviously having its own specialties). It also depends on the season of the year. Personally, ratatouille is a dish I tend to eat during winters. Also, I must say you pronounced "Escargots" in a surprisingly accurate way, almost as well as a French person would say it. I don't know if you've studied French language or trained on it, but congrats!
I studied French for ~8 years 😅
@@SophieLents Oh I see, that's why :D
Ratatouille is realy nice film for family! And your reaction proves it!
Thank you!
Fun fact:
On the isle of man (where I live) it's traditionally bad luck to say the word R.A.T
We call them ringgys or long tails
Yes french cuisine is amazing.
There are a lot of countries which have national food, or food they are just really really good at. Well consider that if you cannot found a food as a national food, France makes the best of it.
Oh and they are the master of bread (really I think it is the only country to really know how to make it properly), cheese, vine, seafood, ratatouille, etc...
And few can stand a chance on the pastry field...
And they are really really good at the rest.
Ok so I'm french so let me enlighten you on certain points.
The very famous kind of stereotyped food for France is indeed cooked snails (and also frog's legs), however know that I have never in my life tasted any of the two, and it's more of a traditional and extremely rare meal than an actual comon food.
And as for "french cuisine" I think it's less about the french specialty foods, but more about the overall quality and attention we pay to our meals and diet. I mean for example even fast food restaurants like McDonalds in France have quality requirements they have to respect, and even have some dietary *and* even *organic* food on their menu (It's still McDonalds so ofc this is still not very healthy but overall the quality is higher than in other countries).
Edit : We do have some delicious specialties too tho, especially when it comes to deserts or sweet food, a lot of biscuits or cakes etc...
Chef Skinner is voiced by late Sir Ian Holm, who played Ash in Alien and old Bilbo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.
I love the hardwork! your not like those people on twitch who just sit and react you heavily edited your video making it fun to watch in less time i admire it
My favourite Pixar film! I am especially anxious to experience the new ride. Anyone else?
By the way the old lady at the beginning having a gun and a gas mask as well as this... poison spreader thingy is probably a reference to the french Resistance during WW2. (I mean you didn't even question the fact that she had that gun, because... america I guess xDDD But as a child my first question watching this was : "how the fuck does she own a gun, she's just an old lady in the countryside").
Edit : I have no idea how the couple got their gun tho...
4:10 momento abuela basada

I cry during Ego’s review not sure why
The ego flashback scene makes me cry haha
Her and Nacs Nice posted there ratatouille videos at the same time 😂
20:05 THE BUTLERS FACE I CANT-
Do you edit all your videos by yourself? If so, WELL DONE! If not, your editor is awesome!
I edit myself, thank you! 😊
So i enjoy this movie. Its one of my favorites but i always think like.. Instead of trying to hide the secret why didn't remy try to teach linqueeni how to cook or maybe the basics? I know its just a movie but it's always bugged me
Unclean? Rats are more clean than cats and dogs!
Though to be fair most animals who live outside (mostly around populated areas) are probably dirty and I wouldn't suggest touching one whether it be a dog, cat or rat!
You should post more often, I really love you videos👌🏾
Thanks, but for now I can only post once a week :(
Skinner lost his top job as a Chef and his side business of making money from Gusteau's Frozen Foods because of a rat and guy who turns out to be Gusteau's son (ironically he didn't knew Linguini can't cook until after getting fired), it's no wonder he can't get over it and attempts to get revenge.
Growing up is realizing skinner wasn't the villain. All he did was try to keep rats out of his kitchen(just plain hygienic), keep someone who was not food certified from cooking(exactly what your supposed to do), and increase the restaurant's income by expanding into the frozen food market(objectively, just good business). #SkinnerDidNothingWrong
Ok so the moment I get a notification from you another UA-cam uploads the same reaction 2 minutes after yours crazy
yeah, great minds think alike haha
I wish Ratatouille 2 was released on theaters June 13, 2014 and was released on DVD & Blu-Ray October 15, 2014
Just a little nitpick, Lol.
Remy didn't go through hell to fix the soup, he fell into the kitchen by accident and was only trying to get out at first. Fixing the soup was just a secondary thought and even then he was only partially fixing it at first because it smelled that bad apparently (Hence his gag face that turned into a meme 😂), THEN he decided to finish the job because of his passion.
Next I recommend Dreamworks' monsters versus aliens.
Spirit!!
If you want to know Skinner’s background, I recommend checking out the deleted scene between Gusteau and Skinner
If remember correctly the old lady with the shotgun is the mother of the food critic
Love these animated reactions!!!!
Think you could react to RANGO at some point? It’s really underrated and maybe a little unconventional… but I really liked it and I think you might to!!
Rango might be coming in a couple of weeks! I haven't seen it but everyone says it's incredible so I have to check it out
Awesome
15:59 I get it, whenever someone eats mozzarella in front of me, I go crazy.
15:44 I have a friend who has four pet rats ( and a squirrel…)
AFAIK most people that have voices in their head are not being told to kill people. Also, yeah rats can make cute pets, I have a friend that has rats as pets.
I love Ratatouille
I even drew and colored the last shot of the movie with the sign
By the way this movie is real satisfying with all the food
Bruh and I was vibin with the Bully Maguire theme
You should watch Brave. It's a great movie and I think you'll really enjoy it!

ITS amazing all cats that didnt show for catching screeweats...help the kitchen.any body side by side..protect the kitchen.
I've just realised a thing (maybe I'm wrong), they named the boy Linguini to make it sound "italian ", but this is the wrong english pronunciation of LinguinE.
Please tell me this isn't the case😒
I believe it’s a pun.
A suggestion for something really different : Kubo and the two strings.

I've seen French written worst than you !
Personnally I first think about bread, because after travelling a bit, I realise that decent bread can't be find outside of France (unless it is a french baker).
Am I a rat? Nope your ex toxic boyfriends are and your ex toxic husbands too this is a message for you woman out there that had to deal with rats 😂❤
Can I suggest a really good movie to react?
Okay, loved your reaction but I have to say some stuff : Nobody's as poor as Linguini has this view in Paris (you can't see the Effel Tower at every corner and Paris doesn't look like that at all) and no, french people don't eat snails (even less frogs) that often, it's actually a regional specialty of Bourgogne (same place of France than the wine) and it's kind of a festive entry. It taste more or less like calamary, it's chewy and we're eating it with garlic butter wich is... better than the actual snail, to be fair. Fortunately we have way better food thant that xD Also : Remy doesn't make a ratatouille at all, he makes a Tian .__. I never understood why.
...
Sorry, it had to come out xD Foody french girl nevrose ...
