Would love a “how to” video on strategies for 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 type games, especially for those of us that play with friends with comms. All the video content out there is about 1v1, and group games are just a different game entirely (e.g., can you all in feudal? Or do you need at least 2 of your team to commit to all in?)

i like that they kept the identity of byzantines from AoE2 basically passive but with flexible tech tree where you want to age up with them to gain the advantage question to chat: you think it´s easier to boom with AoE4 Byz compared to AoE2 Byz ?
This is a weird take due that aoe4 Byzantines feel nothing the same as aoe2 Byzantines. The flexibility of the aoe4 version comes from its mercenary units and they rely much more on melee infantry and base building.
OOTD is actually pretty gnarly in feudal with mass MMA using the golden cuirass upgrade, reason being once they hit low hp archers only do 1 damage, so does towers and TC's. OOTD Maa are the giga chads with meinwerk when it comes to any kind of diving. One japanese player learned it the hard way when i just split and rushed into his yumi-archer and mangonels.
We usually (as a team of 3) we go 1 cavalry civ, 1 archer civ and 1 either trade or boom civ and works well, we diamond atm, cavalry civ harass early, archer civ joins a little later with rams and archers or zhu ges, and 3rd civ either joins a little late super strong or send us a lot of resources or both
I would say 2vs2 is the hardest. 3vs3 and 4vs4 is typically the easiest since rushing doesn't happen often. You'll usually see 1 or 2 people try to fast castle than rushing in those games.
You don't boom with Abbasid in team games, you go all-out feudal aggression and they're pretty decent. They have double range spearmen, cheap 15% infantry HP upgrade in feudal, berry bonus, golden age, camels and probably the earliest ram you can get in the game to screw with castle rushers, they also get a pretty sweet power spike with their archer ball in castle because you can do veteran upgrade and composite bows in parallel.
The problem with byzantines is that as tram games, letscsay 4v4 are so caotic saying thay byz are going to be able to adapt its more theorically because then in direct you dont have time to manouver. What do you think?
I want to see you do a byzantine on a water map. Dock can be cistern boosted for more oil and Varangian Guard can make boats. I think you could have fun with it.
Hre changed my Life this season.... I was stuck in diamond1 After +100games then switched hre and won 15 games in a RAW (no premade) and reached conq. But i play only 4v4 which makes It easier to survive And get relics, even if opponents have mouse and keyboard 😂
I feel like malains should be up a tier. If you go 2tc... or trade. Yes you have to worry about cav civs. But if your team can pressure the cav civ as theyre on you. You can defend decently and boom. Or cow boom fast castle allows you to toss cheep units to cover doen till your allies imperial
I think Delhi should be A, easy pressure with sacred sites, you can outmass knight civs with Ghazi Raiders and beat them up, you got super strong MAA/Crossbow push for castle, and extra attack speed HC for Imp and some elephants
@@SultanBarbossa I think if you have another teammate to go aggro, you can easily get sacred site no problem and have your gold vills do something else. If we can kill someone like someone booming on the flank, we just go and kill him. Our FC/Boom teammates will then cover and we can easily get the food needed for age up. But yes, if you are the only guy going aggro, its bad. I only like playing Delhi when I play with another knight or FC civ.
I've been seeing Mongol players team with civs like English and zhu xi. Mongol does castle rush for healing landmark and teammate just all ins feudal with healing landmark to support can work.
Beasty try running an oil/farm heavy build for Byzantines. You can raid constantly with horsemen with minimal standing army or defenses. Oil for siege is cracked. Cataphracts are useless however.
im a malian main and i think the issue is sofa though tanky are less effective as french knights for killing vills. on top of that early game veteran scouts < any knight... and most vills can just run from them vs (2-3 hit from a french knight and vill is dead) so its not that they cant... its just youre stuck playing defensive early... offensive all in mid game. where the english partner of yours is just starting to ramp up and so by time theyre good youre not. would be better off with a feudal push of donso archers maybe just killing cows under TC so knights cant dive you... and have teammate go long bows... saving up for a white tower on the focused person. (a cav civ would be my target so they cant counter forcing them to defend) then it turns into a 2v1.
I feel like any group in voice chat can actually get decent results in team games because it feels like a lot of the people playing are just getting placed with random people and don't have a plan
Ottomans suck in bronze. They can’t handle the knight rush from French at all. I would know I’m a silver who plays French. I’ve only come across one ottoman player so far who overwhelmed me with hand cannoneers. Every other time I ruin there economy and they quit or turtle after the rams come through.
Tbh if abbasid plays 2tc or trade and boom into castle, they can almost win the game by themselves. I think until you are pro Level, Abbasid in teamgames if played correctly are OP as hell (but they need a civ like english/delhi with them to shine of course)
@TheSirDyna if you spend 800 resources on a tc, you immediately lose map control especially 2v2. The enemy has a better chance of having 2v1 locally and destroy your teammates army. They can also force a fight onto your second tc.

1v1 is easier because you don’t have to rely on a teammate. Especially a random teammate dear god the random teammates are so bad

I agree, french and JDA are pretty tough to play against in team games. But how is Abbasid so low now if they've always been a top civ in team games?

Defense pops out fast with the cistern boost from production. Villagers some light s walls and raids raids raids
Me and my duo partner run Malian English. He protects my cow boom, when im online I take over and spam Sofa into thier eco.

Camel riders destroy knights. If Abbasids boom into camel riders and ghulams with upgrades, it's GGs in 3v3s and 4v4s.
