    You really need to visit Bond Falls and Agate Falls They're both spectacular.

    The color comes from tannen which comes from the millions of pine and (I think) cedar trees within the watershed. You are, no doubt familiar with the German word for Christmas tree . . . “Tannenbaum”

      there actually is a water fall called Root Beer Falls in the western U.P. named for its color. Near Wakefield, in Gogebic County.
