I worked out at the same gym as him (Sports Club LA) from 2004-2011. The guy was maybe a shade under 6' 3" and about 230 lbs. back in 2004. Now he's got to be close to 300 lbs. with lower bodyfat. His liver and heart must be bigger than Rich Piana's.
The rock is ‘6’2 at best Ryan Reynolds’s is 6’3 and he is slightly taller than The rock.

I normally watch and don't comment but Greg you are spot on with the cardio, zone 2 and hit! and you are spot on with the protein and fan comment.
I like that you keep pushing a positive outlook. Recently a guy I know from the gym passed away at 50.
He was a pro bodybuilder, couch, father, husband, and half owner of a gym. I believe it was the "supplements" he was on.
I think more people need to do cardio and those that lift, think it's going to hurt their gains.
Keep up the honesty and spreading the truth.

It's my understanding that the Rock tore his abs off his ab wall, something very common in strength athletes, people who are exceedingly overweight or get pregnant/gain a lot of mass around the stomach very quickly. More commonly known as diastasis, it effects tens of millions of people in the US alone and can only be truly fixed with surgery. Unfortunately insurances won't cover it, even in the cases of giving birth, so it's a _"mommy makeover tummy tuck"_ or you're sol. There are a ton of exercises you can do to minimize the appearance to the point where it isn't noticeable when flexing to the untrained eye, but you'll never have a _normal_ ripped mid-section without having the muscle sewed back onto the ab wall. I'm 99% sure that is what he did. If it was just sewing the muscles w/o skin removal, recovery time can be as fast as 2 weeks with _the proper supplementation_ and a bit of luck, though I still wouldn't deadlift or do Saxon Bends for 6-8 weeks.
I have diastasis and my abs are torn apart, I will always have a waist about 2 to 3 inches above what it should be because of diastasis.
I had two kids, i have low body fat and visible abs, but I still have the mommy pooch due to diastasis recti.
I have never been seriously overweight but certain exercises like very heavy tricep cable press downs always tugged on my abs and I am convinced it was partly the reason for the recti diastasis.

This was a very interactive video Gregg, so many topics that surround the fitness world today that are still being debated. I will finish up by saying that I am not sure what The Rock is up to with this sort of training regime, is it a mid-life crisis to some how become healthier/stronger because in my opinion, this is very extreme and more harm will come out of this
I started doing the Norwegian 4x4 and man that shit is hard and has changed my weight lifting capabilities. I didn't think vo2 max training would make me stronger this quick.

True enough but while sweating excessively does not burn more calories it will in fact cause you to lose more weight in the form of water sweated out. That will make you look significantly leaner which makes for a better appearance when appearing on video

There are so many of these Lifefitness treadmills at my gym with a TV attached. But only two Freemotion brand treadmills. These are the best in the gym but most don't know it, these treadmills have a built in fan, and the goals you can set in them are way better for athletic performance. It is perfect because they look weird and junky to the other gym goers so I always have a spot on one of these two wonderful machines.
Coach Greg, I know you’re saying muscle protein synthesis is the best as soon as he’s up before the workout however isn’t that what amino acids are for? To maintain muscle protein synthesis while in a fasted state? That’s what I’ve been doing since November waking up at 5am and taking 10 grams of the essential aminos before working out and having electrolytes in my water during exercise

The preworkout I buy has a serving size of 3.5g and 1.5 of that is caffeine. Not stated on the packaging and found out after asking them. I was having around 3 times that and then more about 30 minutes into the session wondering why i felt like I was still warming up

Not related AB implants or blasting steroids, but my dad is 53 he’s been working out since he was 13, and he said he stopped getting bigger around 24, and the ONLY muscle that grew later in his life was when he was 40 he started doing Dragon Flys & weighted crunches for his abs and they got SUBSTANTIALY bigger

All recent Peer Reviewed human studies show NO effect of NMN in multiple age groups. Patients also take 3x- 4x the normal dosage and still nothing. Dozens of these studies. I'd like to know what peer reviewed human studies you are referring to that debate the reviews that show no effect of NMN?

Hey Greg can you explain why you do cardio then weights? I know most people are against it as it will “pre fatigue you” or “deplete glycogen stores”. I do 35min of stairs 5x a week, I always did it post workout but I did it pre workout and actually felt way more alert and focused during my lift. I lift in the AM so maybe I had more time to wake up idk, just my experience. Is it good or bad for muscle growth?

The only reason i say its better on a little to empty is because if i eat then workout ill just be hungry again for burninng offff everything I just ate. Maybe it's in my mind but thats what i personally prefer.
I started doing 'Nordic 4x4s' on opposite days of my strength training and my sleep improved in a week. That Vo2 max is helpful in more than just longevity; or maybe better sleep leads to longevity :P
What are those, how does one do them?
Of course it doesn't burn more calories but it is healthy for you especially for your skin and detoxification, I think that's why most people do it as well as they feel like temporarily dropping that water makes them look leaner
I'm confused. I thought calories are a measurement of heat. So, although sweating doesn't "burn" calories, I thought it was an indicator of calorie expenditure. And wouldn't you want to be warm for that?
Calories are a measurement of energy. The calories are burned and when you burn things, you get carbon dioxide and water, ie your breath.
