Domestic violence in ANIMAL? Yeah I remember Geetanjali slapping Ranvijay 3-4 times in the movie, even on the evening of Karwa Chauth. Balbir Singh slapping Ranvijay throughout the film. Reet crying and beating Ranvijay when he confesses that he murdered her husband.
Nowhere in the film I saw Ranvijay beating anybody in his family, with the bra strap thing also being an expression of the urge to irritate his wife to get a reaction out of her.

All these characters exist in a world where the stakes are high and everything hanging at an extreme edge. Thats where the drama is created. I’m so glad these actresses are being appreciated. They are way better than Ananya, Sara, Janvi etc. I hope they consistently get great roles and get acknowledged for it. Also Tripti Dimri and Tara Sutaria deserve to get more roles. They are beautiful stars but the nepo gang keeps pushing those untalented nepo kids on us. It’s very annoying! Tripti is in DCA talent agency but they are absolutely sabotaging her career while bad actresses like Ananya and Sara are constantly getting movie after movie and embarassing themselves 🙄

The movie was literally about a man who is a beast or ANIMAL by nature and how he goes to extreme lengths slowly and slowly as the movie progresses. Ofcourse it is meant to trigger you because such characters dont exist around us. Noone is ggonna be inspired to do domeatic violence (which wasnt even there as Rashmika slapped him as far as i saw but noone would talk abt it) or do 200 murders because Ranbir did it, then that person is already mental enough to do that without the film

About the discussion on animal movie,The man is shown helpless in the end. Father dying who he is obsessed with, wife and children leaving, no shoulder to cry on, nobody from the family, he hugs Shakti Kapoor and cries. Where's the glorification? He is shown miserable in the end because of his actions. When he slits Bobby's throat, nobody in the crowd cheered, and i have seen animal 2 times in packed theatre. He comes back to his home chest soaked in blood that he's done it but everyone is looking at him in horror. Where's the glorification again? You guys just have to bash a film for the sake of it. Watch closely if u really want to talk about the film.

28:06 - Huge L by "Saiyami K" i don't see misogyny in the film also the director portrayed that Ranbir's toxic behavior would eventually lead to him losing his father and wife, leaving him in the end. Furthermore, her taste in cinema speaks for itself, since she has not explored much of the cinema world.
29:08 - "Karishma T" queen of hippocracy, why did she choose the role in Sanju and Grand masti if she is so concerned about films influencing society?
30:00 - "Sobhita Dhulipala" cannot deny the toxicity she displayed on "Made in Heaven." Had she said anything toxic about Ranbir's character, it would be contradicting, as her role (Tara) was 10 times more toxic than Ranbir's.

3) Tara justifies her cheating just like "Arjun ready" and goes to other women and tells how to become gold digger. As Adil cheated on Tara and Tara cheated on Adil, the makers should have portrayed something which could influence society, like true feminism, however they chose to go down a different path that revealed the true characteristics of Tara.
S1 was good, Karan and Mehar's portrayals are vivid and show how lgbtq people should be portrayed.

Although the film is a biopic, this incident was in all likelihood made up for the film. This scene is treated as comedy in the film. Didn't she have a problem with infidelity being normalized/treated as comedy in the film? Wasn't she concerned about how this would influence some impressionable viewers? The truth is that she, or the other two actresses who spoke about the filmmakers' responsibility, would have happily accepted the role played by Rashmika or Tripti Dimri if they had been offered it.

With respect to Animal the movie and Kabir Singh- just stop for a sec and see that the country is watching ART. Art can have any form and is free to express. It can be calm, tame or gore. For a sec, change the thought and try to be more factual- gore art, a genre that involves depicting graphic and often disturbing scenes, is a form of artistic expression that may not necessarily reflect the artist's mental state. So definitely what Nimrat is saying making a lot of sense, if you go and watch a film of that calibre, you are able to pay that much money- you go with a certain amount of ability to understand that content presented to you. You should be able to get entertained and get out of there just like you read a novel or an article or a comic, get entertained and get out of there!
No questions on their craft diminishes the whole point of doing yet another roundtable - please ask more relevant questions concerning acting and less with movie economics.

The movie was entertaining & engaging too in certain parts with good BG score & music accompanied by good performances of actors ( except the cringe Rashmika 😂) but overall the core of the movie for gloryfying a particular problematic character was not cool ! But yes tbh the movie was not boring if you don't obviously get inspired by these type of characters ! Enjoy the movie & leave it there !

I remember him literally losing his hearing and sense of touch. Him losing his wife because he cheated. Him losing his father despite doing so much violence. Abrar's whole clan is literally after his family. He is stripped of every ounce of sympathy you can have for him. He literally promised that he will never betray her and he ends up betraying her. Director could have avoided it. Yet he did not. He wanted you to hate the guy, to not sympathise. Its only people who twists things out of context. There is literally consequence for everything in the film thats done by him. I dont know what people are crying about. It did not glorify violence anywhere. He was shown as protective force in the first half but was shown as abusive or distructive force in the second half. He in his obsession was falling downward morally continuously in the second half. There was no glorification. But only admiration for Ranbir Kapoor who played the dark character so well.

The director did not cheat the audience into watching them something else, the teaser, the music and its lyrics, the trailer clearly depict it would be a story of a flawed and troubled man. Karishma tanna talking about moral compass when she went ahead and potrayed infidelity in sanju under the garb of comedy and sayemi talking about being inspired rang de morally which has regular people becoming vigilantes to the coolest rahman tunes after they hijack the radio office. You do not take flawed characters at face value, you have to take them for their alternative empathetic value. Like i watch joker and my takeaway shouldnt be, "oh the system has wronged me, people are rude towards my shortcoming, let me kill somebody who does that again to me" but my take away was "damn, let me be kind as humanly possible to other person because u never know what the person might be going through". Similarly the take away from animal should be about how young kids are like clay, if you give them attention time and positive influence, they will be better off instead of what anil's character does to him.
