That “From today you are a Nigerian” was NOT a supportive comment!! He was basically disowning her from SA, he’s saying “Go and be a Nigerian since you like them so much”
You are misunderstanding. That commenter is actually from Nigeria and was basically supporting tyla because she defended chidinma. We now claim tyla lol
She couldn't explain her coloured identity to Americans and we went over and above to defend her, now she's standing up for a girl whose mother was found to have stolen the identity of a South African to obtain citizenship. Nigerians have been bullying Tyla left and right and now she's doing this.
@Krissy-u8d K word is the N word but not "reclaimed" I guess, it's also misinformation that Tyla herself used "Coloured" , it was people on the internet not her
You're as corrupt as she is then. People are calling evil good and good evil. Scary teams. We are proud of South Africa and condemn all those who support corruption.
Tyla was bullied, and is just defending someone else being bullied. From America, continue to stand up to bullying Tyla, because people are not going to like you either way… This world is sick and needs herbal medicine!!!!! Bullying is NOT OK… Jealousy is a sickness, and needs to be corrected in our community. We are all POC, black, African, beautiful!!!!!! STOP THE DIVISION!!!!!!❤
South Africans were no bullying, they were requesting an investigation into her citizenship and it is because of such calls that it was discovered that the model's citizenship was acquired through fraud and the identity number (social security number) was stolen from a native born South Africa. Instead of standing with the child who's life was stolen for 20 years, she chose to stand with a benefactor or crime.

also so many SA celebs who are in support of Chidi have gotten a lot of backlash. Some have retracted their statements but I'm glad Tyla has stood by her.
All Tyla said was that Chichi was being bullied, which she was. That was not okay. The complicated part is the fraudulent way in which she received citizenship. At the end of the day, identity theft is ruining peoples lives and I agree with you, people should have the same energy for other races too. Her mom was to blame, she didn’t deserve all that bullying.
Apparently it happened to this white girl Bianca for racist tweets in 2020 and a coloured girl for bullying, xenophobia is still a problem in SA but research is needed.

Chidemma is gorgeous, and what's crazy is the "anti-blackness" is coming from people that look just like her. I don't believe she would've been bullied the way she was if she were of mixed race, or an immigrant of another race. Yet, people try to say colorism isn't real. Sigh..

Chidimma didn’t back down because of the “Backlash”. She was forced after it was revealed & Verified that her Mother who is Mozambican committed Identity Fraud which Automatically Invalids Chichi’s Citizenship and identity document, disqualifying her from Continuing with the Competition. The battle started when her 4 names did not have anything South African 🇿🇦 including her Surname. Another Problem was her having 2 flags of her real origin on her social media bio, Mozambican 🇲🇿 & Nigeria 🇳🇬, now tell me why are you entering such a competition to be our “Miss South Africa” 🇿🇦 if you don’t even identify as one of Us. Second issue was her liking comments of Nigerians making all of this about them more than “South Africa” which is what the competition or pageant is all about 3rd issue from the get go, she Lied about her Mother’s Origin and Tribe saying she is “Zulu” from Soweto the most popular Proud tribe in our country & from one Proud Zulu girl, I knew from the Get go, that was 🧢, we know our people & we’re the most proud tribe especially when it comes to our language and our culture. 4 We have identity Theft crisis in our country so the more this escalated the more the citizens demanded answers as to how she acquired her Citizenship since both her parents are not from here, sadly for most immigrants, in South Africa you don’t acquire Citizenship just because you’re born here, being born here does not qualify anyone to get citizenship, you’re just given a document at birth certifying that you were born here and you must go register at your embassy as a “foreign national” not a “Citizen” To sum this up, Chidimma’s Nigerian Name sold her out, there’s definitely history between South Africans @ Nigerians & just like how South Africans Were refusing to be represented by a proudly Nigerian woman with an invalid Citizenship who didn’t identify as one of them, Nigerians would also never allow a “Zama Ngcobo” to represent them in Such a Pageant. We have beautiful relationships with our Neighbouring Countries, But Majority of Nigerians in our country Successfully & single-handedly ruined their name in this Country, so if you ask 1 person in our country what are they famous for, you’ll see why Chichi had it harder than the Chinese lady. It’s not “Black on Black” hate they need to do introspection As A South African, I’m proud of my People & it’s better to be Labelled and called names than to lose our Country, this is our Home and we will defend it ❤️
This won’t be pinned because they’d rather see South Africans as Xenophobic instead of looking at the whole picture. If the roles were reversed, would a South African who has fraudulent documents be allowed to enter Miss Nigeria/Mozambique? What about the 22 year old who cannot go to university or even have an ID because of Chichi’s mum? And how many similar cases are there? From the exhaustion of medical facilities to increasing exploitation because of cheap labour. It’s always fun until you’re affected directly.
Please tell me how Mia La Roux sounds South African or Sherry Wang. I am waiting... This is 100% black on black hate. As long as the person's skin is white, you are okay with anyone. And it’s from other black Africans towards other black Africans, imagine that no wonder wherever there’s majority black people it’s often controlled by non black outsiders cause black people often worship non black people and out more trust in them and treat their own like crap
The other races do go through it too. We had Bianca Schoebee, white, who previously entered Miss SA, like Chidima, South Africans, found out she used to bully blacks and was racist in high school. South Africans called for her to step down for being racist. It was bad as well, her career ended.
@@huldah1605 Chidima ddnt do anything, however, her mother may have committed identity fraud..meaning she is not south african, and does not qualify for the peagent
You don't get SA citizenship through soil, one of your parents has to be South African AND you have to be born in SA. That's why her mom never came out to defend her when this whole controversy started. She could've protected her and spoke up but she let Chidimma be questioned by the whole country, knowing very well that she got her south African citizenship FRAUDULENTLY. However, due to her mom's actions... There is a South African woman who doesn't have access to a bank account, no access to higher education or even line of credit to take out a bank loan 💔 People like to only focus on chichi and see this as the "beginning of great things" for her and minimize the impact of crimes committed by not only the immigrants but also the effects of corruption that has been taking place for years. It is unfortunate that it had to happen like this, but South Africans standing up for their country is not bullying. (I am a South African btw)

Nigeria vs South Africa is beyond worse at least with Ghana vs Nigeria it's all banter. But South Africa vs Nigeria it is a strange atmosphere and I blame colonialism.
Blaming colonialism is too easy People choose to comply with it Tribalism is deeply engrained in the psyche of many Africans and their descendants, you can see it everywhere From petty diaspora beefs to ethnic groups being divided At some point, operating this way becomes a choice. Colonialism is a symptom, not the actual sickness
It’s not just Nigerians. People from Zimbabwe, Somalia, Malawi even some Pakistanis face xenophobia. In 2008 there were literal xenophobic attacks and people were murdered.
Truth be told, as a South African I am ashamed to report that there’s a ton of xenophobic behaviour here, especially towards other African nations. It’s not an ideology I believe in and it makes me sad, however, only a native citizen of South Africa should participate in the Miss SA pageant.

But that’s not Chida fault. It’s her mother fault you can blame a child for the actions of their parents. All Tyla said was the girl was getting bullied and it’s true. It’s not like she said anything controversial.
What business? You mean being self hating and giving awards to your former slave masters? You stand on business with your fellow Africans but kiss white and Asian @ss all day. SHAME ON Y’ALL. Total disgrace to Africa

Thank u for covering this, coming from a South African🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦. I stand with South Africans. It's always easy for celebs to speak on such due to being in a position of privilege. Call me xenophobic or whatever but illegal immigrants have done more harm than good in our country. There have been operations trying to get rid of them for years now but the government has always been on their side. The Asian lady is not getting the backlash coz she's a LEGAL immigrant. She's not using anyone's identity to get by Tyla should've kept her mouth shut. Never seen her comment or speak up on the coloured community, that community also has deeper problems just like the black community but I never see her advocating or speaking up for her own community. The coloured community is literally the overlooked community/race in SA. She claims to be coloured but has never spoken about the issues that coloured people deal with. She could've kept quiet and kept shaking her bum Some local celebs who defended this girl also got dragged very badly and had to humble themselves and apologise real quick coz SA black Twitter was not here for them. Yes SA black Twitter is toxic most of the time but I'm glad my people stood up for themselves
Exactly! Tyla could be advocating for coloured South Africans but she's going around talking nonsense. Then again she's still a child, she hasn't seen or lived through what some of us have. She was lucky enough not to have the same responsibilities.

So you feel sorry for an innocent woman’s stolen identity, but inflicting torment on another innocent woman by bullying her? Makes sense. Everyone must suffer whether innocent or not. Your mentality in SA is messed up. As a citizen of Ireland from Nigerian parents I wouldn’t dream in visiting SA because you guys would think I stole my identity too
But even before the identity theft was discovered, you guys were already out for blood. I followed it all as it unfolded on X...and I was dumbfounded at the level of vitriol you guys unleashed on the girl all because of her Nigerian heritage. It really seems y'all don't even really care about the person whose identity got stolen but just see it as the perfect clause and suitable reason to legalize your hate. Nuff said!!
@@TheTranquilSage Exactly! Chi was already disliked long before any allegations about ID theft were made public. As you said, those claiming to care about the woman whose identity was allegedly stolen are using it as a cover to justify the bullying Chidimma faced simply because of her Nigerian heritage. They don't actually care about the woman whose identity was supposedly stolen. The narrative that her identity was stolen and she couldn't do anything about it for 23 years makes no sense. If her ID was indeed stolen, it’s reasonable to assume she would have reported it to Home Affairs (the ministry responsible for immigration and IDs in South Africa) and the police. Are they seriously suggesting that for 23 years, the Ministry of Home Affairs knew a South African's identity was stolen and did nothing to help her, knowing how crucial an ID is for survival in South Africa? Or are they saying this woman never reported the issue to the authorities for 23 years? If for 23 years Home Affairs knew that a South African citizen is suffering from ID theft and did nothing, then we should be more angry with Home Affaris than Chi's mother. But I want to believe that the Home Affaris tried to at least provide a solution for this lady(if indeeed the story is true). People have not even considered the possibility of this woman selling her ID herself. What if this woman had a husband? Did Chidimma's father also steal his identity? If the husband’s ID wasn't stolen, then the children would have been able to register normally. This pity-party narrative for the lady who's identity was stolen is designed to demonize Chidimma for something she probably had no knowledge of. And what happened to "innocent until proven guilty"? The way people are jumping to conclusions, even while investigations are still ongoing, clearly shows they have no interest in finding the truth. This story is being used as propaganda to justify their hatred for a girl simply because of her Nigerian heritage.

4 We have identity Theft crisis in our country so the more this escalated the more the citizens demanded answers as to how she acquired her Citizenship since both her parents are not from here, sadly for most immigrants, in South Africa you don’t acquire Citizenship just because you’re born here, being born here does not qualify anyone to get citizenship, you’re just given a document at birth certifying that you were born here and you must go register at your embassy as a “foreign national” not a “Citizen”
To sum this up, Chidimma’s Nigerian Name sold her out, there’s definitely history between South Africans @ Nigerians & just like how South Africans Were refusing to be represented by a proudly Nigerian woman with an invalid Citizenship who didn’t identify as one of them, Nigerians would also never allow a “Zama Ngcobo” to represent them in Such a Pageant. @XIZ127 The Asian woman came to SA legally. What's hard to understand? Let's not compare tomatoes and potatoes.
The person who gave chichi's mom someone else's identity should be held accountable. Leave chichi alone.
It's good to see Tyla not get involved with xenophobic behaviour. And decides to lead by showing its all about showing support not saying anything divisive. If you think Nigeria vs Ghana are rivals. Nigeria vs South Africa is beyond worse at least with Ghana vs Nigeria it's all banter. But South Africa vs Nigeria it is a strange atmosphere and I blame colonialism.
All these attacks on nigerians are one sided. Nigerians don't have any opinions about South Africans or Ghanaians.
Blaming colonialism is too easy
People choose to comply with it
Tribalism is deeply engrained in the psyche of many Africans and their descendants, you can see it everywhere
From petty diaspora beefs to ethnic groups being divided
At some point, operating this way becomes a choice. Colonialism is a symptom, not the actual sickness
It’s not just Nigerians. People from Zimbabwe, Somalia, Malawi even some Pakistanis face xenophobia. In 2008 there were literal xenophobic attacks and people were murdered.

Oh you guys do it serious, the entire other way. Everyone seems to be very aware what is happening that it is in fact used to keep the working class obedient and docile and not demand rights, by both the right and the left but am unsure why it hasn't been addressed yet.
The UK had an open door policy especially with Refugees, it’s awfully crowded here and crime is increasing. Don’t act like victims or spread misinformation 😂😂
Lol go off sis
Banning illegal immigration will not fix the fact that employers will not pay people a decent wage and it will not give people affordable housing. Additionally, we learned the hard way during the pandemic that illegal immigrants do the labor that Americans refuse to do. Most crimes are committed by American citizens as well. She's not using anyone's identity to get by
Tyla should've kept her mouth shut. Never seen her comment or speak up on the coloured community, that community also has deeper problems just like the black community but I never see her advocating or speaking up for her own community. The coloured community is literally the overlooked community/race in SA. She claims to be coloured but has never spoken about the issues that coloured people deal with. She could've kept quiet and kept shaking her bum
Some local celebs who defended this girl also got dragged very badly and had to humble themselves and apologise real quick coz SA black Twitter was not here for them.
She's also trying to protect her international career at the expense of fellow South Africans.
Thank you queen 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Just say you have issues with the African black immigrants otherwise all of you always embrace the whites and Asian people of your country and they are free to get citizenships and participate in everything

So we feeling sorry for chi baby? What about the women whose identity was stolen? Smh double standard

Chidinma is bigger than Miss South Africa fr fr!
*She was not bullied off the show*. It was found that her mother stole a legitimate South African nationals identity. Therefore, because her mother’s citizenship was obtained through fraud, Chidimama is not a South African citizen, disqualifying her. The real victim here is the South African woman who’s identity was stolen meaning she and her children were deprived the most basic of rights such as rights obtaining their high school certificate, opening a bank account or going to university. Let’s think about that.
