Please revisit Russell Westbrook
I love him laughing at the idea of coming off the bench. As if someone couldn't possibly (John Havlicek) come off the bench (Kevin McHale) and help win championships and (Manu Ginobili) become an all-time great.
While disrespecting 60% of the players in the League, even his bench teammates at the time. This has got to be one of the most overrated assholes the NBA has ever seen.
@@martinfeldman2529 yeah the scoffing was bullshit
Especially as he was clearly past his glory days. Many will only remember him for his ego. I (as a relatively new and casual basketball fan) will do so.
Cornbread and Iggy won finals MVP, coming off the bench. That starting shit is an ego stroke and it shows those players are only concerned with their image and stats and are not committed to the overall success of the team. Melo has always been selfish as hell and never took an honest look at himself or his impact on his team.
Hen Ponds
He named 3 HOF’ers...
Melo had his lap dog SAS attack Phil Jackson for years on First Take. Turns out, Phil was absolutely right.
Phil did do a terrible job building around him in 2015, made the Knicks from a 9th seed in 2014, to the 15th in 2015, plus Melo was injured most of the season, Phil made the team worse just to get Kristaps or somebody else.
I just wrote the same exact thing, Phil was right about both Melo and K.P who is always hurt. Phil only took the job because of the amount of money James Dolan gave him.
LakerFan287 not really. Phil got the job at the end of the 2014 season. They headed into the 2015 season with playoff aspirations but with Melo obviously playing hurt and the guys from 2013 (Amare, Shump, Chandler and JR) all playing like garbage they had no choice but to blow it up. Their record with Melo was 9-31 and by the time he shut it down they had a record of 10-43. They were on par with the current Knicks despite having WAY more talent.
@@darkinferno1219 This is correct. They intentionally tanked the season and got Porzingis out of it. They really should have built around Porzingis the moment they knew he was a star. Melo should have been traded during the tanking year in my opinion.
P L correct
His refusal to play defense, to play without the ball plus age and injuries really hurt his career.
That's what I thought...
SA saying that kobe's advantage to Melo is only the rings? ONLY the rings? im not a kobe fan, but damn, that's an insult to Kobe...
Both were black holes but at least Kobe played D.
@@gullintanni
Facts kobe gave it sum on defense
@@gullintanni LeBron is a black hole too
gullintanni exactly
Kobe made 12 all defense as a SG. Most by any SG all time...
SAS is on crack cocaine.
Still haven't forgiven him for sabotaging Jeremy Lin's career like that. I may have been wrong about the racial component to Lin's freezing, but Anthony playing him dirty was 100.
Yes and lets not forget the team was winning and playing faster the month Lin ran the team and Melo was out. And not just Lin. The whole team had great hop and pep. Then Melo-Hog shows back up and it all dies...
MrAitraining Lin is ass shut up.
Lin was exposed and was trash after NY
@@xavierrodriguez7938 what has melo done since leaving ny??? Exactly NOTHING
Adrian Arshad Jeremy lin was trash he had a hot streak no one knew who he was. I guess melo is the reason why he doesn't start anymore or has been on 5 different teams. Get off Melos nuts
Melo destroyed linsanity, thunder, nuggets, and Phil Jackson.
JoeKickass324 Melo was injured during Linsanity. Thunder had the same record and he didn’t play a bunch of mins, they got blitzed by Utah. Nuggets? The team he was successful with in the playoffs even reaching the Western Conf Finals? Phil was fired because he was falling asleep during draft work outs lmao and because he pissed off KP.
U&I 🤦🏾♂️
U&I How many accounts you need to try and get my attention? No one trashes Lin. Dude is an average player. Also using mommy daddy jokes shows how young you are. You’re an idiot kiddo. No one cares. You mad I can play games and you can’t in your shitty situation? Every post you’re sucking off Lin because you not even worth the sweat off a dogs ball sack. Foh.
grod1126 when Jeremy Lin was having a good season melo told the front office to not resign him
iZiear Dolan decided not to match because of Lux tax. Knicks brought in J Kidd to mentor Lin. Knicks would have to pay 35 M because of Houston’s contract being reworked. Rumors and speculations are lies unless you show me an article from a credible outlet and not bloggers. Source: www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/allenstjohn/2012/07/04/houston-rockets-make-play-for-jeremy-lin-with-50-million-poison-pill-free-agent-contract/amp/
Carmelo isn't on the Kobe level only because of rings... Yea ok... And the work ethic, attention to detail, tireless work on defence, wanting to push teammates to be better, etc.... Yea ok Stefen A...
Kobe level Mr. Smith should’ve been drug tested after saying that. Kobe made how many all defensive teams compared to Melo. Yes Kobe’s shot selection made me pull out my hair but Melo isn’t within light years of Kobe.
@@Therock007dmx Melos shot selection is almost just as bad. Melo had some pretty good teams he played on and always seemed to drag them down because guys knew once he had the ball you may as well just look for a rebound or go back to D because Melo wasn't giving it up. Yea he could put up 30+ points but on ridiculous shot attempts.
Stephen A. was dating Carmelo, so.
No, look it up.
And skip Baylis is a Kobe hater cuz hell buy that
@@Therock007dmx kobe made defensive teams because he guarded the whack player on teams and shut him down.... Just look at his last finals against boston he didn't guard Ray Allen or Paul Pierce he guarded rondo the guy that couldn't shoot a jumper if his life depended on it.... Kobe and melo both overrated as fuck
Moral of the story: Melo was never self aware. No humility no willingness to sacrifice. Definitely a cautionary tale.
Agree!
MrEazy7468 could've said it better my self .........💯
Well said...
💯👍🏿
And all his fans and his friends try to defend him. They stare reality dead in the face, and still deny it.
Haha
My god this quote
Its the generation we live in
Same way lebron gets all the praise he gets for giving up during games
Was reality that a hall of fame player is still confident in his ability to start and win games? Ya blowing other people’s opinions out of proportion and hating for no reason the nuggets was ass and Houston needed somebody to blame for underachieving
melo fans are delusional and if u try bringing this up. They`ll call u a hater. Melo fans need to accept the truth and there was a reason why melo was out of the nba at one point and had a bad reputation not because the league hated him or anything. Same thing with guys like Iverson.
Carmelo has destroyed every team he has been on and tarnished many legend players/coaches legacies.
Except Olympic team
That sounds a lot like Lebron
Noel Johnson At Least they got some good playoff runs and championships with LePEDs. Melo was way worse.
Noel Johnson no matter what you haters try to bring LeBron’s name up. I swear you all think about him more than his wife
Those Nuggets playoff teams.
Melo and Kobe don't deserve to be mentioned in a sentence
Another one? You don't have to do him like this 😂😂
Yes, you do!
You gotta say it louder for the ones in the back! lmao!
ATOMIC BOMB
Jason Francois Melos fans need a reality check
Yea...he does
Karma to Melo for what he done to Linsanity.
RO BERTO he made his money so it doesn’t matter really
@@epakerd True but shame to him where money can't buy.
He didnt do shit to linsanity new york wasnt gonna match that offer that houston gave him. They wernt gonna pay 35 million dollars to a player who is a little above average. The proof is in the tine si ce then how long has he stayed with one team? And what are his numbers since leaving the knicks??? Ill wait
What did he do Lin? You can make the case that he stopped linsanity but Lin got other chances and never produced like how he did in ny
@@borybanks2552 He never really got the proper chance or the right team. He played good in Houston, LA that team was toxic, He played great with the Hornets, and he was really beginning to become a real star in Brooklyn but then the injury happened and it ruined the momentum. Lin just had an unlucky career at least he has a ring now.
Thanks for adding the bonus clips, especially the "Hey pete, they said i need to come off the bench" clip. It's gold! ^_^
Classic clip that sums up everything
Glorified Jerry Stackhouse with less heart
Damn that's a name I haven't heard in as ages.
Yeah.
Man, that one hurt
Seth Kasso Damn stackhouse? Why you gotta do my boy Melo like that.
😂😂😂😂😂
Anything exposing Melo nowadays is beating a dead horse.
He's been exposed for awhile now...
I don't even like basketball but your effort on your channel is top notch. Your investigation into the subjects are great and the production is fantastic. I'm am now subbed.
When askn Jeremy Lin about no team sign Melo
Lin reply: I love it. Now he knows how I feel back then

Carmelo Anthony has been overrated for years.
melosexuals wont accepted that

He's in the wrong era. Simple stuff. His jumper just disappeared for whatever reason too.
@@lessthanthree5686 Yup, he's dinosaur now. He's iso/hero ball doesn't translate to how the game is played today. And he never tried to adapt to the changes that were taking place in basketball so he could prolong his career. It's a shame.
dr . Kyrie Irving does isolations.
Tim Duncan did them. On and On players in NBA history has done them.
3 mania is in. Rockets tried to 3 there way to the NBA Finals. It did not work.

Melo’s arrogance to coming off the bench is kind of cringeworthy
Absolutely, all the greats said it takes sacrifice to win it all....he never sacrificed when he needed to that the most....
Got damn D'Antoni knows how to throw SHADE
Thank you for all this context. You do a great job with these informative viceos.
how dare stephen a smith say that the only thing that seperates kobe and melo are rings!? first of all, how dare he compare that trash melo to a legend
Right. Wade is better than Kobe and Melo ain't close to Kobe
They're both locker room cancers who shot the ball all the time. But Kobe at least gave effort on defense for some of his career.
@@EGarrett01 kobe also won 5 times in some of the western conference's toughest years, so theres that
Yeah, even though Kobe never won as the team's leader in win shares. It was Shaq the first 3, and Gasol for the last two.
This nigga jus said wade is better than Kobe. Goodbye
All you gotta do is watch time stamp 4:18 and it says it all. Melo has ZERO respect for anybody. He is literally un-coachable. These Melo fanatics need to stop defending his atrocious destructive behavior, c'mon son y'all think that's cool?
It ain't the MAN or the LEAGUE trying to black ball him. He did this to himself. All the teams that took him in swore they could ignore his track record. Well now the truth is out and teams finally realize there is a severe downside, and since Melo is un-coachable, unwilling to sacrifice, and unable to evolve his game nobody at the moment wants him. Humility goes a long way and if he can't sit on the bench its a wrap for his career in the NBA. He'll get in the Hall, but no rings will be on his resume unless he makes real changes.
Great bonus clips!!! ! They speak for itself no narration needed.
I didnt hear what he said there. Can anybody tell me? Too much gjbberish
Thanks for the insight...
I swear to god this is D’Antonis UA-cam burner
I love looking at this 1 3/4 years later and knowing Melo is back and in a semi-starting role
So satisfying listening to all the blind fans for OKC and Houston who insisted they were gonna win a chip after getting Melo.
So happy this fool is out. Payback for ruining many lives for his ego.

Ruining lives???😂😂😂
"ruining lives"?
ok...I feel you but calm down.
Did I just hear Stephen A. Smith say at the end that Melo is on Kobes level but just has no rings?! Excuse me?
This. Overrated as fuck
At a time, you could've probably said that though. Remember, for a time it was Melo v. Bron for best out. It depends on the time.
@@HoleintheMeadow no it does not depend on the time. Kobe was the best player in the league from 04-10. Carmelo may have been better than Kobe after Kobe tore his Achilles, but not before that.
Solid evidence. This creator loves this game. Subscribed!
You my friend or a true professional journalist, in every sense of the word, you need to make this your career. Every inch of your video is a masterpiece, sound sequence footage ambiance presentation organization... Thank you for blessing us with your skill. I myself drink their Carmelo Anthony Kool-Aid, but I cannot tell whether you worship him or hate him, & that is refreshing... It's how journalism should be done.
I wanted Carmelo to be great when he came into the league...one dimensional and selfishness....a mans pride will always be his down fall
Carmelo “the tumor” Anthony, thank god he gone 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Carmelo does not deserve to go to the hall of fame.

Jr 07 lmaoo Na you lying yo ass off nobody with a scoring title overrated
OJ Moran
when Stephen a said how do u feel bout linsanity. U could tell Melo was jealous about it deep down. And he later reported it to Dolan then being an idiot owner pushed Lin and D’iantoni out of town
Feels like Allen Iverson all over again
Frfr.
AI was way better than Melo
😂😂😂 Savage but on point.
Too bad he is going out like this. He is not that bad of a player really, if he just understood the position he is in right now, he could easily play a few more years in the NBA. Look at Vince Carter, he is going to bad teams, playing some minutes, teaching the young players, this is the perfect role for Carmelo, no pressure, solid play time and a role as a mentor of the new generation.
Can't pass, can't defend, and settles for long twos. It's ova
Vince Carter also isn't a one dimensional like Carmelo has been for his career.
Carmelo was a great halfcourt scorer. Thats it.
I can Melo mentoring players
"Aye fam fuck a system just shoot that shit fuck defense nigga that shits for pussies"
don't compare the two. Vince realized his own limitations as he grew old. He developed his 3 point shot to the point where he's now considered a great spot up shooter. He passes the ball and helps in ball movement. His passion for basketball is still as great and is why he hasn't retired. Carmelo is still hogging up the ball movement jacking up horrible shots and looks like he's already given up on basketball entirely.
This states exactly why he is totally loathed by smart basketball people. He doesn't have the self awareness to truly realize who he is. His self perception of himself became his enemy. Dirk had the same kind of player trajectory as him, weak defended but world class scorer. Everyone would agree Dirk has had and is a better player than him because Dirk knew exactly what he brought to the table. This is the conundrum when you are really good at such a young age, no one will be honest with you cause all your life you've been told you're the greatest. He was surround with people who would tell him what he wanted to hear but he really should've had someone in his inner circle tell him what all these other smart basketball people saw in him. Honesty always the best no matter how it might affect someone emotionally
Knicks done one thing right which is to get rid of him before he destroys young stars like Porzingis' careers
Came here after Chauncey Billups comments. This video is prophetic..
It's funny that when a reporter ask or suggest that he's coming off the bench, Carmelo was laughing as if it says to the reporter, "are you on drugs? Fast forward to today, he is not even on the bench at all. Nice!
SAS can say something so stupid it ruins my day
The most frustrating thing as a Knicks fan was watching Melo screw around in a badly positioned iso play that he himself was forcing, and then he'd either chuck the ball up in triple coverage, or he'd finally pass it to someone else, but with only a few seconds on the clock, to where his teammates were forced into bad shots because he ate most of the shot clock up dicking around with forced iso plays. It was like a recurring nightmare, and I was SOOooo glad when the Knicks finally got rid of him. The guy didn't make anyone around him better, and more than that, he made players around him look worse when he'd pass the ball with 2 seconds left and hope they'd look dumb instead.
Lmaooo now Im starting to see the skip in SAS
When Carmelo was in Denver his first 2-3 years he played hard all around, but once he got settled in with a new contract he just said F it to playing defense. After that point no coach has been able to get him to play solid D. He worries too much about potentially getting hurt if he plays D or crashes the boards. I'm surprised Phil Jackson put up with him for as long as he did, MJ and Pippen were two of the best defenders in the league when they played for Buddha in Chicago. That is why MJ is the GOAT; he played D, got his teammates involved in the game, he led and played hard every game. I was surprised MJ lasted as long as he did with the pace of play he had all those years. That is why he is GOAT, the guy just wouldn't quit.
Everybody has been saying this for years...This is nothing new...
Right, it's always been there, no one really wanted to knowledge that...
Thank you
What's the name of that instrumental?
A little bit of humility would have gone a long way. I have never cared for Carmelo as a basketball player. Manu ginobli was chosen 57th in 1999 Carmelo was chosen 3rd in 2003. Who would you want on your team? This is an easy one for me.

You know its bad when you make a bonus vid.
I like Melo when he was a rookie and playing in Nuggets, but when he tastes some spotlight and stardom he stops growing and evolving his game.
“ I’m not sacrificing no bench role” That means I am willing to be benched.
Melo out the league because he still believes he can go out there and get 25+ a night. He needed to go to the bench and just do his thing. At 34 you got to make sacrifices.
grod1126 he did, the guy is coming off the bench getting paid vet minimum. 2 seasons ago he was putting up 22 a game. 🤦🏾♂️

Carmelo a legend
Love your channel bro but are gonna apologize to Melo?
@IG: confused_melo For FACTS #Ginga just like Dirk Duncan Wade Vince Kobe... with basketball legends u let them go out when they ready not because media/league has some type of agenda against them. I don't here no one saying Sir Vincent Carter washed up.
And unless u better than Melo who r u to say he don't deserve to be in the league?
😂 carmelo couldn't hold kobe's jock strap.
A little late here but where were the same media and "fans" who called Phil insane and out of touch when he want Melo out of New York.
Where the melo stans at it's 2019 2020 season and the dude is still sitting at home lol
Ok guys real question is where the hell is he now?
At home?
Hey Pete they say nobody wants me on their team
People can have great debates about who’s the greatest player, greatest athlete, greatest shooter, greatest leader, greatest defender, greatest play maker, greatest passer, smartest player, most unselfish player, toughest player, etc., etc., etc. The easiest question is the most overrated player - Melo
Who would’ve thought Vince Carter would outlast Carmelo Anthony
Melo had a chance with Phil Jackson to work on his game both offensively and defensively. Jackson has such experience. He is a world class coach, but melo was too arrogant to heed!
Carmelo is a great example of the NBA dictating to the media, that they will promote him as a great player.
Come off the bench?
Chumpmelo oughta be cleaning the locker room and making sure the water bottles are chilled.
Melo is the basketball version of Antonio Brown!!! All about him!!!Not about the TEAM!!!!He could have made a contributor coming off the bench!!!
I'll never forget the look Melo had on his face when Jeremy Lin was cooking in New York during Linsanity. He looked extremely jealous of that man's success when cameras was on him during Lin's highlight moments on the court.. J-Lin was holding New York down unlike Melo because Lin was hitting everybody off in that system. That's EXACTLY what D'Antoni and Phil was looking for in Melo! It never happened...and Melo fans still make excuses for him. I love Melo, don't get me wrong, but he messed up all on his own...lack of humility.Plain and simple.
He simply needed to work on conditioning defense and overall awareness.
15 seasons in the NBA, who gonna take a risk getting him?
What’s crazy is he had all the tools to be better too.
Melo played himself
That's what I thought, he been needed to humbled...
I mean ... I've always hated him as a Player and I've always stated he's a cancer but when he laughed at the possibility of coming off the bench it really boiled my blood and he just showed everyone he's true selfish self
Did he say enjoy the fucking game or let me play my fucking game
Carmelo had bad body language when JR Smith made a monster dunk while on the Nuggets and emergence of LINSANITY.
He did not like getting outshined by his own teammates.
That’s why when people say fiba Melo or olympics melo not because he’s simply better playing in an international setting but because he’s actually listening to the coaches (coach k) and not being an ball hog.
Carmello wanted to go to New York so people could see his hats. Seriously.
ALL FACTS
I feel bad for him but the NBA now is in the era of statistics...
Seems Phil Jackson was in the right all along- but his biggest mistake was resigning him with a no trade clause.
He may know what he can do, but he doesnt see what he prevents his teammates from doing. It really is too bad that he cant piece the whole package together.
If basketball was a one-on-one sport, he'd be one of the best. It's not just about beating your man in iso sets. A lot of the all-time greats did not excel at that aspect.
Pluto isn't on Saturn's level, only because of rings...
I dont understand why Denver say BYE to Gallo...
Murray Harris Gallinari Millsap Jokic + Thomas = WCF 100%
