The original sketch for Lucius Malfoy had him in a pinstripe suit with similar hair to Draco (slicked back, short, lil bit of a fade at the back), and the actor Jason Isaacs said "no i need a cape, wizard robes, and a Legolas weave with at least 30inches thankyou"
He actually pointed out that Lucius would NEVER dress up like a Muggle (suit) and cut his hair, so got them to change the fit.

Nah, Tom Riddle is Voldemort. When Dumbledore said that Voldemort acted through another he was referring to Tom Riddle acting through Ginny.

They're allowed to use magic once they're old enough, so the Weasley's magic house is fine, and the adults can apparate, which essentially means teleport, so they didnt need the car after they dropped the kids off.

The story of Moaning Myrtle is actually wild, tragic but with a twist ending. Her name is Myrtle Warren, and she was bullied mercilessly throughout most of her years at Hogwarts, specifically by a girl named Olive Hornbury. The day she died she was in the bathroom, like she says, sobbing because Olive was making fun of her again, it was such a known thing that she hid and cried in the bathrooms a lot, that people mainly just left her to it. Her death is more or less how she describes it, but in the books she goes into it. It took them the whole day to find her, because people kind of didn't care to really look? Myrtle as a ghost was there waiting. Eventually a teacher sent Olive, Myrtle's primary bully, to go find her in the bathroom, and it was Olive that found her body. A little traumatic karmic justice maybe, and certainly to Myrtle.
Her quote: "And then [Olive] saw my body... ooooh, she didn't forget it until her dying day, I made sure of that... followed her around and reminded her, I did."
After her death, Myrtle stayed at Hogwarts as a ghost to harrass Olive for the rest of her schooling as revenge for her bullying and, lowkey, kinda causing her death. Myrtle was PETTY. She was on this girls ass for years. It culminated in Myrtle showing up to Olive's brothers wedding and causing a scene, reminding everyone of how Olive bullied and tormented her. Finally, after that, Olive went to the Ministry and they 'bound' Myrtle to the Hogwarts premesis to stop her behaviour.
That’s actually sad… as we learned more about what happened & the bullying she went through & has been going through, how no one uses that bathroom & she is probably always alone made us feel bad about the whole situation😢
@@DaKidsReact oh yeah, she unfortunately became an outcast of sorts, even within the ghost world. Kids continued to harrass her for decades, throwing things, teasing her, calling her a Mudblood, etc. Peeves the poltergeist always calls her Spotty (she had acne), she's never invited to ghost celebrations, and she's so depressed and highkey traumatised that even when Hermione tries to befriend her in the first she thinks it's a horrible prank (which Peeves made worse, throwing mouldy food at her). And she can never leave, so she's been stuck in half-century long loop of being a misunderstood, bullied, 14 year old who's constantly a target or constantly ignored.

Something that most people don’t know is the Hagrid double situation. They had a guy stand in who really was almost 7 feet tall who did the background shot or scenes where Hagrid had to be in close proximity but not see his face. But there was also a Hagrid face animatronic, you gotta look it up it’s insane. But they did a lot of perspective shots to make him seem larger, especially in the later movie when the kids start to grow taller. Honestly RIP Robbie Coltrane he was Hagrid and will forever be Hagrid. The best GOAT ever

The flying car isn't considered them using magic because it was already Enchanted by their father, the magic being done at their house is being done by their mother so that's perfectly fine. It's only Wizards and witches that cannot do magic that are under the age of 17, they can only do magic at school. Though the trace that's put on every young Witch and Wizard will only show when Magic's being done around them so if their parents are using it they're not going to be blamed, because they can't determine who performed it but they can see that they live in an area where there's other witches and wizards. When it comes to Harry though he lives in the Muggle section of the world so they'll know if it's him or not

I'm not gonna lie....when I first saw the basilisk in this movie, I had the same reaction Ron had with Aragog. (side note: I am NOT fearful of snakes or spiders). Also, every time I hear Hermione say "She's a little sensitive" to describe Moaning Myrtle, I always have the same first thought: A LITTLE sensitive?"
Side note: Hedwig is a snowy owl. They have white feathers with black spots that act as camouflage when they're hunting, their wing feathers are ruffled to muffle their wing flaps so prey animals don't hear them coming (like all owls, really) and they're the only birds in the world whose feet aren't bare, due to their habitat being snowy areas, like the Arctic Tundra.
Moaning Myrtle when she first died and became a ghost she haunted the girl that bullied her, the one that caused her to go off running into the girls bathroom crying where she died. That woman then went to the ministry of magic and complained and they forced Moaning Myrtle to be restricted to Hogwarts and she has chosen to stay mainly in the bathroom.
We felt bad for Myrtle once we understood more about her & what happened😢

Tom Riddle is his real name as a student..Tom just changed his name for his ego lift...a spell in the diary caused Ginny to write the messages and the snake/basilisk did the petrifying...

It’s interesting that Harry finds it so hard to be honest with adults. But I think it’s likely because he’s been taught from a young age that the adults in his life are untrustworthy and are out to get him, he never gets to be vulnerable and confide in his aunt and uncle. I think that’s why he struggles so much to be honest about his thoughts, feelings and worries because it’s something he’s always had to deal with alone, even now when he should speak up, he doesn’t fully trust authority figures.
After being in a situation like Harry’s, not knowing why you’re being treated differently, will do that to you. You hit this right on the head which is why it was good to see him at the end express how he felt about hagrid when he came back to the school

Harry Potter is soooo damn good. The first 2 movies are childish but iconic. The rest of the movies are creative and great.
People keep saying this making us hype to get into the next ones. Even though it was “childish” we truly enjoyed both of these movies to start us off w/ the HP series🔥
@@DaKidsReact the world building, and character introduction are very good in the first two movies. But at the end of the day we are watching 12 yr olds call each other stupid and using disgusting slug spells. The stakes are just so low in the first movies. They really are still children.

Arthur and Molly Weasley were in Gryffindor also, and prior to Ron's first year, both the elder brothers Bill (who is a Curse-Breaker for the Wizard Bank Gringotts) and Charlie (Ron mentioned in the first film he studies Dragons in Romania) had been in Gryffindor too
Tom Riddle is Voldemort, he changed his name to Voldemort because he hated the fact he had muggle last name. (Without spoiling it), he trapped a piece of him in the book. As a way to return if killed, but Harry destroyed the book

This was something I didn’t notice when we watched the movies in the theaters all those years ago. I’ve watched the HP series hundreds of times from the time my kids were 8 and 9. They are now 30 and 31. It took someone pointing it out to me.😮 And I thought I was a very observant person.😂

Yes. Voldemort was Tom Riddle.
He didn't wanna use that old name, because it was his hated muggle father's name. So he created the anagram;
"I am Lord Voldemort" out of Tom Marvolo Riddle.
And Lord Voldemort is more fancy and mysterious than "that orphan Tom Riddle".
It sounded impressive.
This young version of him was preserved in a diary like a memory, who could come to life through advanced magic. Had Ginny died, he had come back completely, taking over her life force.
Voldemort aka Tom, Did use Ginny though, by possessing her. She did his bidding without really knowing it. But she finally guessed it, poor girl. Not at all the first year she had anticipated so much.
Hey there, Strap yourselves in for the chamber of secrets. A little FYI...... The place that Harry wound up in is called knockturn alley.... It's right off of diagon alley, and it is totally dedicated to the dark arts. Shady as hell. Harry's family hates him because of his aunt Petunia, who is Harry's mother's sister, and she was always envious of her sister because she had the magical gift.... As you probably saw in the Sorcerers Stone, she talked about her sister. Envy is really nasty. That's why it is also one of the seven deadly sins.
Btw in the book Mr Weasley puts Malfoys pops in a blender (yes they’re wizards but still not literally)
My Family are all Sheim . my 3 Kids all have their proper wands & robes. Tom Riddle was a young orphan who came to Hogwarts & did in fact transform into Voldy!!!!!!! Only 2 People still have the balls to call him Tom .You will see who they are and why they call him by his real name . If you look online you can find diagrams showing all the wizarding Family trees that show who's related to whom .

Btw, idk if they said but Harry just turned 11 in the 1st movie. He’s 12 in 2nd, 13 in 3rd & so on…in number 6, u guessed it, they’re 16. Lol Easiest way to remember.🤘
When a kid performs enough magic the book of acceptance and the quill of I forget the name but when they perform magic it goes into a book that book is where the names come from when they write out the letters of acceptance and send them out to the kids. If it is a muggle-born child that performs the magic basically the assistant principal which would be Professor McGonagall would go to the kids home speak with the parents and inform them that their kid is magical. They would then request to be able to speak with the child and show them exactly what they are, they then take them to Diagon Alley to get them all their supplies and they show them how to enter Platform 9 in 3/4.
I think this movie is highly underrated, I know it's an earlier film and is more kid focused but It's a good story. And I love the mystery aspect of it.

The scene where Harry gets Malfoy to hand over the sock to Dobby, I think it's done far better than the book because he takes his dirty wet stinky sock, and then takes the book and sticks it inside of the sock. He then takes the sock in the book and puts it into Malfoy's hand he is disgusted by it when he removes the book and sees exactly that it's a sock and throws the sock towards Dobby and he reaches out and catches it

Keep in mind that a lot of the lines that Ron has in the books they gave to Hermione in the movie, on top of that they make Ron and Harry look not as smart as what they are in the books. I do agree with you though Hermione is the goat
Yes the movie script writer's favorite is Hermione he even said so during an interview. I know adaptations from book to film can be tricky but it is a shame that the characters like Ron got the short end of the stick.

Harry has legitimate reasons not to trust adults. Especially authority figures because of his aunt and uncle. That's not going to change in just a year and a half. After all McGonagall didn't believe them about someone trying to steal the Sorcerer's Stone last year either.
If a witch or wizard is born to an muggle parents then someone from Hogwarts takes the letter to them in person to explain everything abd convince them it's real.
He used *Ginny.* Tom Riddle was Voldemort's name when he was born and in school he created a new name for himself but it wasn't widely known they were the same person.
I hate to burst your bubble about the brooms but the brooms were a Nimbus 2000 and 2001 when the books were published...in the 90's. 😂😂
We appreciate you explaining these things for us🙏🏾 we agree that trusting other adults was plagued by his relationship w/ them. It was sad to see him go through that which also makes his rebellious as well.
