    I appreciate you showing us this rig, without all the background music, and hype. There's some good camera work there to considering it's a winter wonderland. Thanks you.

    If you have 4 wheel drive, couldn't you take it out of low and gain speed? I have Trax on my 800 Can-Am and I never have it on low. Let me know.

    You know I always thought these were pointless here in North America, you can always find a 4wd Nissan Frontier that costs as much or less and does a lot more with no modification money needed, plus there is no street legal headache and you can get parts from you local store instead of having to order them off the internet. BUT! This is totally practical and worth it because its as light as you can go and still have all the pluses of a truck, like an enclosed cab and heat! Kudos to you sir, that not only looks like a great idea, it looks fun.

    • @meals24u
      @meals24u 5 років тому

      M. Perfekt As somewhat of a Nissan fan, I own a Giant Jacked Titan with 35s and 12.5s all done up, but man, I’d always take a mini truck over a Frontier lol.. I’m not a fan of em, though I’ve never owned one. Just from buddies .. But I am biased! I love JDMs, parts are pretty available where I’m at and ordering online is becoming easier as well, with decent shipping speeds.. But you’re 💯 % right, looks cool, and works great on frozen lakes for ice fishing, hunting, or any kind of adventuring.. All the benefits of a truck, with the weight of lil more than a UTV.. Good stuff!! Only problem, stupid expensive lol

  • @meals24u

    I would love to see this done with a small load! Maybe not max, but like 4-500 lbs in the back, to see how it handles the deep with a payload as I assume most ppl will be carrying some sort of load..

    Hello from east central Minnesota where we currently have nearly two feet of snow with another 10 plus inches on the way. This is very impressive, I could really use something like this for hauling wood and collecting maple sap in the spring. Thanks for sharing.

    Very nice indeed if one takes into account your driving in powder type of snow which is about like dry sand. With wet snow with the tracks you don’t sink down as much. I met a guy that has 4 of these with tracks he uses them in one of the larger cities in the U.S. to keep sidewalks and parking lots free of snow. He has been using his for about five years now. He just loves them and said there is nothing near as good even side by sides for the jobs he has. Our Hospital even has had one well their second one now for 11 years for the security personnel and plowing snow among just a couple things they use them for. The price is really an investment if one considers everything thing they are capable of doing and keeping you warm and toasty in the cold months and cool in the summer ones. I own a compact Kubota tractor that is nice but for what I paid or it I could almost own 2 of the mini trucks with tracks - and everything you do to them. Hum maybe I should off my tractor LOL I love your videos contents and you do such a great shop describing and showing so much. Thank You and keep posting.
    P.S. Now I am going to check out your website next, Cheers

    • @4sonsoffroad

  • @alexaltrichter1597
    @alexaltrichter1597 6 років тому

    I'm wondering what the life expectancy is on the clutch. There's quite a bit more torque on the driveline in snow with the tracks versus tires on pavement. It's not like they're real heavy duty.

    • @4sonsoffroad
      @4sonsoffroad  6 років тому +2

      We have dozens of customers running tracks and even 2 who pull cross country ski trail groomers with them commercially with no issues at all. The key with tracks is that you are actually only turning a small sprocket inside the track so its like a natural major gear reduction of about 40% vs tires. Takes all the speed out of it but a lot of the stress too.

    I'm so disappointed you did not have horrible techno music blaring in the background LOL
    I live in downtown Tokyo, I have a mini van, well I call it a "Micro Van" mine is a Subaru Dias.
    I'm a carpenter, and I use my micro van daily, it's great, not great on the highway, but I don't do much of that anyway.
    I'll keep mine forever, until I wear it out, then I'll rebuild it with better parts and keep using it.
    The mini trucks being imported into North America are a great idea, if I lived there I'd have one.
    I was wondering how much time it takes to remove the track set up and put the wheels back on?
    I was thinking if you put a set of these track on a micro van like mine, it can seat 4 comfortably and have a lot of room for gear too, it would be a great vehicle for a hunter, or a small group of hunters, or for a business that needs to ferry people around with their luggage in a very snowy environment. With a roof rack and some sort of carrier up there you could move three clients and gear fairly easily, and it would be MUCH cheaper than a snowcat.
    Mini truck rock!
    Cheers from Tokyo!
