Tip for corrosion resistance, if you need something to act as a barrier for 2 dissimilar metals, run to the dollar store and get a flexible plastic cutting board. Cut to fit your bracket, put holes in to match your bolts. Very cheap and nearly the same material used in an industrial setting. We used HDPE insulators when bolting steel brackets to aluminum. Only big difference is the texture of the cutting board.
That would work well for a compressor, but for something that's weight bearing such as a hitch, we wouldn't recommend it. Over time, the cutting board could deteriorate which would loosen the connection. www.etrailer.com/Tire-Inflator/Viair/VA69WR.html
The body is aluminum, not the frame that compressor is attached to, but that gasket is probably a good idea regardless. Good video though by somebody actually performing the task, not some yahoo pretending.
I'm thinking of putting my quick connect in the gas cap compartment since I own a gas truck and the spot for the def looks useless.

That appears to be a bad mount orientation for the tank as there's no drain on the bottom
1.8cfm is really low. There's 10.6cfm dual cylinder units available that will fill a 32" 0-35psi in 2min
They have other kits meant for tools
The air compressor did the air hose hit the bed rail when I installed it the way you did mine sitting in the bed rail
Very nice job 👍
Thank you!
