"You don't have to be as good as Amazon, because no one will get there." Same would have been said of Sears for about 50 years of their history. They were sending stuff to your home a hundred years ago, and just missed the boat. Sears would have BEEN Amazon, if they had understood the Internet. They had the physical infrastructure, the purchasing arrangements, the shipping smarts. All they had to say was, "Can we put these catalogs online?"
They turn away from innovation and risk taking and bank on their share holders and executives. It's why Space X beat Boeing, or how these great old companies just sink under. It makes sense too, why should blockbuster buy this Netflix website if they don't really measure up even to smaller chains? All they do is mail a DVD to you, why add an extra service that doesn't really change your current business, and could waste money? It's a cycle that will hit all companies. In 50 years we'll probably see Tesla or Chipotle or something we think as modern and innovative fail for not adapting. The vision will be blurred by less ambitious, old silver spoon type CEOs than the entrepreneur who doesn't need to take into account any risks, because you can't lose money if you don't have any. The new hearings for tech companies is going to be the turning point for many of these innovative websites into corporate conglomerates. And the magic will disappear.

They can if they capitalize on their delivery/shipping sector and fix the UX (user experience) with their website. Ordering on there is kind of a drag.
If they can get more products on their deliver to store list then they can. I love being able to order something a go to the store to pay in cash and pick it up later for free. The problem is a lot of what I need that they don't have in stock has to be home delivered.

Ebay is getting tricky. Too many Chinese scams are filling their pages now. Seeds and plants are a prime example. Also, clothing. Check and see where your items come from. Ebay doesn't do much about quality control, apparently, and you can lose a lot of money buying sight unseen when it's used. Markups from independent re-sellers are also all over eBay. They buy at retail and sell for double for some hard to find items. Free market, I know, but be careful.

I'm no big fan of either one. I will say in customer service when i needed it Amazon has always been stellar, where Walmart treats you like your trying to con them. Or as previous person commented here. Item ordered from Walmart couldn't cancel couple minutes later because already shipped. No one ships that fast, so they obviously lying. Btw I order more stuff on ebay then anywhere else and usually with high rated and trusted vendors.
Walmart isn't actually competing with amazon, amazon is just a distributer and classified ads website. Walmart is actually competing with a million different small businesses. Amazon charges a 20-50% fee to people selling on their website, they make a lot of money with zero work. With the amazon 2 day shipping products people send their junk into a amazon warehouse and then amazon ships it out for the seller when it's ordered. If the products don't sell amazon charges a storage fee, so they make money weather it sells or not. If Walmart's inventory doesn't sell it goes on clearance....which is bought by amazon sellers and amazon gets money from the sellers. Since anyone can sell on amazon it just takes one person on the whole planet to get a really good deal on something and can post it below walmart prices. The people selling on amazon are just running it out of their garage, have zero overhead and can afford to sell it below walmart prices.
Wrong, they're selling needleless jet syringes with nutrient packages that are injected direct-to-bloodstream. Edit: Nevermind, they now have it to where you can order tailored assortments of nutrients to be teleported right into all 100 trillion of your cells at once.
The real power of Amazon is "FULFILLED BY AMAZON". This means all of the products sold by 3rd party sellers ship from amazon warehouse and are delivered in 2 days. As long as Walmarts products still ship from random sellers all over the US there is no competition.
I attempted buying from Walmart, and they also don't know how to pack a box. They will toss glass wrapped in paper, in with cans and then toss in some crumpled paper. Walmart should have done it way before than amazon ! It has entire infrastructure, products and robust Balance sheet. Moreover Walmart has strong hold on physical stores with best locations.

I order all types of groceries and it is satisfactory maybe 95% of the time. Granted, I live close to their headquarters which helps with quality control.
You may have a point about the meat, our semi-local grocer beats Walmart, but Walmart does pretty good at produce and I worked in a grocery produce section for two years back as a student.
Even though 90% of Americans live within 10 miles of a Walmart there is still no Walmarts in cities like New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Detroit, Boston, etc.
Walmart has a long way to go if they wanna catch up to amazon. their delivery is pretty fast and impressive but they need to fix their website UX, filter out the fake and low quality products from 3rd party sellers, improve the Q&A section in every item. amazon has the most helpful Q&A section, when you need to ask a question about an item, someone in the amazon community will reply you as soon as same day for most items. only then maybe walmart could win in ecommerce, especially grocery which they already have an advantage over amazon.
Walmart should just pay all that money they are spending to try and "beat Amazon" to their frontline workers...they would get better employees AND more loyalty
@Crypt Keeper they won't be lazy at $18/hr if they KNOW they COULD make $35/hr hour in 5-6 years WITH 100% company paid for HEALTHCARE and an IRON CLAD safe DEFINED RETIREMENT plan
Better website! I buy from Walmart sometimes & I have no idea how I can rate the reseller, Amazon makes it soooooo easy Also get people to review the products! Shopping at Amazon is soooooooo easy, you go to the item & there is a ton of reviews so you know which item is the best! Walmart is lacking in the reviews department
I ordered something off Walmart once ... and they sent me a empty box. At least, it was easy to get my money back. I have never been sent a empty box by Amazon.
Lolol. I am watching this video now because I love Walmart. ordered two Google nest minis for about 20 bucks each for Black Friday. Their employees ended up shipping me two BOXES with 8 per box for a total of 16 of them. And they were all the blue colored ones (which are currently in huge demand). LOL. I looooove Walmart!
Most of what Walmart sends you are things closer to expiration date than grocery stores would carry and BADLY dented cans. They also shipped cleaning supplies which leaked on to boxed food which got contaminated. You don't ship cleaning supplies and food products together.
I just ended walmart+ trial. Totally bad. Delivered frozen items almost thawed. These items could not go into the freezer. Cans often dented. Green vegetables inferior quality compared to grocery stores in my area. ***. Instacart shoppers paired with Walmart will save the Walmart home delivery. Walmart employee’s need more training.
It will be extremely hard because Amazon is digitally native, meaning they don't have the trouble of juggling thousands of retail stores, employees etc. Amazon just needs to focus on one aspect of business which is online.
There is a huge difference between Walmart and the Amazon brand. Amazon is 100% obsessed with the customer experience whereas Walmart treats the customer as walking ATMs. Good luck catching up to Amazon with this consumer perception.
I can’t tell if you’re joking or not. I literally get everything on amazon now. Hell, I even bought a whole new wardrobe this week on there. Jeans, pants, button down shirts, polos... and most were literally $3 or $4 each. I got to redo my entire wardrobe for under $100
Paris Hilton is not the dumb blonde she portrayed on TV. She played a caricature which lined her pockets with more money into her already wealthy pockets.
I agree that online grocery shopping will continue to grow. As someone who never thought about grocery shopping online COVID changed that for me. Now all of my grocery shopping is done online. That being said I don’t support Walmart because of their business practices (treatment of workers, environmental impact, etc.). Of course, I also cancelled my Prime membership in July when it was set to renew. I did find that I was using Amazon for the shipping and with the current state of the economy I didn’t want to spend $$ on Prime when it just saves me a little time getting something. Instead i invested the money I used to spend on Prime with a local delivery service for groceries.
First Walmart has to either start caring about training their employees on good customer service, or better their pay and benefits so they can hire people that show more respect for customers. (I am sure everyone has had a bad experience going to Walmart. I went one time looking for a water hose. Didn't see it on the gardening section, so I asked an employee and she said that they only sold water hoses in the summer season 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂 But of course that was a lie. I found them 5 minutes later lmao. So in the best case scenario the lady was too tired maybe to help me find it, or she simply didn't care) But I mean, not even Walmart cares about its customers. Only about their money. Go to a Walmart and they treat you like a felon on the way out.
I used to shop at walmart precisely because I want good shipping without having to sign up for a subscription like prime. Now that free two day delivery is gone, I'm starting to shop around again
I used to work at Costco in Clovis, Ca. I remember when they heard that Walmart was going to be opened near by. I asked why? They said their prices are lower than Costco. Well fast forward to now 2020, and Costco has moved to a bigger area and the Walmart’s are growing to Market stores all over. Costco’s still packed also.
Walmart has same day grocery delivery in KCMO. In fact, depending upon slots, it can be under 2 hours. It cost $11.99. I've used it once when I didn't have groceries for lunch. Worked great.
I'm looking at Walmart from a different perspective now. Those products are shipped through their own network of trucks and in-store p/u too. That's a plus, as I've had large orders sitting outside from Amazon for hours.
I would be more likely to do an Amazon type prime with Costco. I wouldn’t consider doing business with Walmart. A few years ago I had a Humana Health policy that required me to use Walmart’s pharmacy. The jumbo store I went to pick up prescriptions totally depressed me- enough that I dropped the policy in about 6 months. Their locations were a hassle to get to and the Walmart center closest to me had no customers. It was virtually empty. They eye wear shop sold me a cleaner for my glasses that wore away my glare shield so I ended up tossing $600 lenses. I took the frame to Costco and their eye services were top notch. Their pharmacy was also great. Costco could be a threat to Amazon but not Walmart.
So you're basing your evaluation on a giant mega-corporation like Walmart on the fact that the Walmart's pharmacy near you was depressing? Most health plans cover most major pharmacy chains, (Walmart, Walgreens/CVS, grocery store pharmacies, etc.). And you got a bad lens cleaner once? I hope you're going by more than that.
I honestly think Wal-Mart can really win Amazon on the food grocery delivery. Furthermore, less people travelling on the road is good for the environment too.
You will never beat Amazon. You might get a Boeing Airbus, Coke Pepsi, etc. situation IF you can REALLY haul forward. And I mean you have to be crazy at it for years to get there.

You could literally buy from Walmart in bulk and sell it on Amazon for profit. I buy directly from Walmart delivered directly to my house at a confirmed time. No package theft.
Walmart will always have an edge on Amazon because of the brick and mortar stores. You dont want to buy everything online. Plus you can go to any Walmart and return your item . Good luck returning your items to Amazon
There are plenty of free amazon return centers at kohls, whole foods, etc. With kohls you even get a 20% coupon. The majority of people want to buy everything that's possible online. It's easier to cross shop, there are reviews, you have a much better idea of what you're looking for. Ever went to a brick and mortar store and asked the employee for a specific item? You know, when you had to stand there and explain to them only to find out it's not even there? It's a pretty annoying feeling and the short staff that exists today doesn't seem happy about being on the other end either.
I signed up for Prime and Walmart+ when they both launched. It's actually cheaper for me to get my groceries delivered with Walmart+ than it was to drive my van over to Walmart to pickup groceries.

So Walmart is transforming into a Sam’s Club and Amazon hybrid?
It already technically was, just needed to focused on Online shopping

Walmart still has a long way to go.
Agreed, especially after the jet.com debacle. They also need to redesign their website.
Walmart has been planning on taking on Amazon for the last 15 years. Yawn.
If that was the case, it should've outperformed Amazon in online sales by now, 15 years ago Amazon was way easier competition than it is now.
@@doink4997 bc that's not the case. WM never saw AMZN as a head to head competitor back then.
Walmart saw other traditional brick and mortar stores closing because of Amazon. Adapt or get sacked.
🥱😯
Lmfao. What a load of nonsense. Goes on clearance. Bought by Amazon sellers. Zero overhead. Clueless comment.
"Delivers the food straight into your fridge" ?
What's next , they will deliver the food straight into your mouth ???? haha
Wrong, they're selling needleless jet syringes with nutrient packages that are injected direct-to-bloodstream.
Edit:
Nevermind, they now have it to where you can order tailored assortments of nutrients to be teleported right into all 100 trillion of your cells at once.
That’s my mother’s job.
Everything comes broken every time. The returns come back broken too.
Don't they know Fedex packages get exposed to 8 G's, equal to a 5 story free fall?
Walmart now has WFS (Walmart Fulfillment Services) sellers ship into Walmart DCs and they ship it for sellers now.
Wal-mart's website looks as bad as Sear's website.
Walmart and Amazon have surprisingly similar looking websites...
Kevin P yes but Amazon is just more user friendly with a nice clean look. Walmart’s is ghetto & so much going on in one page

Don't forget that E-commerce is really only a side task of Amazon, its main business is web services, cloud computing and all that.
Good point.
Well then there is still a card in Walmarts hand go to a collaboration with microsoft azure.
I've read that Walmart also has a counterfeit problem just like Amazon.
Hello how are you doing today
Using Walmart delivery saves the environment. No cardboard boxes.
No one mentions Walmart's exclusive shipping contract with FedEx
I think Walmart could easily take on Amazon because of their store locations being able to do same day delivery.

Yes, yes you are a huge joke!
Walmarts are barely stocking their shelves with inventory.
I’m a stocker and we keep our back room empty. So idk what Walmart you live near but maybe no one works there.
@@brettbrantley1474 People work there if you can find them. Whenever I need to buy something I need it tends to be behind a glass case. I have to push a button and wait 15 minutes for a pack of razors. They even have a machine roaming around the store with a bunch cameras on it and scanning pegged items on walls. I don't know the purpose of that machine. The Walmart is in Highland, California. For more than a month the toy section was completely bare. They had empty bike racks and this was only one section. Electronics was the worst I've ever seen it. They have displays but no product. They don't even have Nintendo switches or any game console in stock. The clothing section just as bad for men. Either you guys are selling or somebody's not doing their job. Most of the time you guys are not doing your job.

Walmart should have done it way before than amazon ! It has entire infrastructure, products and robust Balance sheet. Moreover Walmart has strong hold on physical stores with best locations.
I will purchase everything from Walmart first. Amazon if they don’t carry it.
Groceries from Walmart... 😷 I don’t feel good about that. Maybe canned goods but not the vegetables and NEVER the meat
just go look on youtube who walmart loves to destroy the egg and chicken farmers in the US. They get them fully reliant on them and then bail on the contracts leaving the farmer to declare bankruptcy. Then buy up the farm operation via one of their allies. It is sick!
That's exactly what I thought! Honestly I didn't even know they sold food! When I learned they sold food, I thought of those little plastic containers with crackers and cheese, next to the Budweiser that was on sale...... 😂🤣😂🤣. I couldn't imagine ordering fresh food from Walmart.

One thing great about this pandemic is we get more of these quality videos . Keep it up
Even though 90% of Americans live within 10 miles of a Walmart there is still no Walmarts in cities like New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Detroit, Boston, etc.

Why are your videos so good to watch? My god! You guys are great!
Walmart should just pay all that money they are spending to try and "beat Amazon" to their frontline workers...they would get better employees AND more loyalty

Walmart will save the Walmart home delivery. Walmart employee’s need more training.
It will be extremely hard because Amazon is digitally native, meaning they don't have the trouble of juggling thousands of retail stores, employees etc. Amazon just needs to focus on one aspect of business which is online.
Yes but this also gives a Walmart a huge advantage because they have the infrastructure in place already.
Love Walmart for taking responsibility for their products. Like what they are doing.
There is a huge difference between Walmart and the Amazon brand. Amazon is 100% obsessed with the customer experience whereas Walmart treats the customer as walking ATMs. Good luck catching up to Amazon with this consumer perception.
Sam Walton clearly instilled his competitive spirit into Walmart’s mission

To quote the great Paris Hilton, “what’s walmart? Is that where they sell walls and stuff?”
Paris Hilton is not the dumb blonde she portrayed on TV.
She played a caricature which lined her pockets with more money into her already wealthy pockets.
Symon Templar don’t you think i know that?
So in the best case scenario the lady was too tired maybe to help me find it, or she simply didn't care)
But I mean, not even Walmart cares about its customers. Only about their money. Go to a Walmart and they treat you like a felon on the way out.
Is there a button in which I can "Double-Like"? It is fascinating to me that these kinds of videos even exist. Keep up with the great work
They need to get shipping fixed and make the website more aesthetically pleasing.
Listening to this while shopping on Amazon and stalking Walmart Plus! 🤣
Hello pretty how are you doing today nice picture
I used to shop at walmart precisely because I want good shipping without having to sign up for a subscription like prime. Now that free two day delivery is gone, I'm starting to shop around again
Both Amazon and Walmart need to outsource their products away from China that would be the biggest win for everyone.
Everytime they say Brick and Morter my mind translates this in Rick and Morty
I see you looking at those Nintendo Switch Joy-Con
I used to work at Costco in Clovis, Ca. I remember when they heard that Walmart was going to be opened near by. I asked why? They said their prices are lower than Costco. Well fast forward to now 2020, and Costco has moved to a bigger area and the Walmart’s are growing to Market stores all over. Costco’s still packed also.
Walmart sit is hard to navigate. Can’t never find what I’m looking for.
Walmart has same day grocery delivery in KCMO. In fact, depending upon slots, it can be under 2 hours. It cost $11.99. I've used it once when I didn't have groceries for lunch. Worked great.
Most of prime is filled with useless fluff. And the shipping has gotten worse. Almost no need to pay for prime at all anymore
This is good for us consumers. I wish them success.
Walmart is spending a lot on all these miss steps. Walmart is focused on Amazon. But Jeff has a laser focus on its customer.
Finally. A video about my work (Walmart) I saw several about of Amazon.

They gotta pay for some website upgrades, only reason I don’t use it is that it hurts my eyes when I look at it.
