This is the Mariah I like. No expensive dresses and Dolce Gabbana shoes or diva attitude. Just a Long Island girl that could sing her *ss off. Today's Mariah is too pretentious and has become a caricature. It's sad to see how Mariah is trying so hard to be someone else today. It's as if today's Mariah is afraid to show her real self in fear that her real self will seem less important or less valued when in reality her real self is what is the most valuable part of Mariah.

Let's be honest, Mariah has always expressed her gratitude towards her fans throughout her career but you can't expect someone to be "modest" after a successful 25 year career. She has never said she is the best, she has even always refused to record duets with Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder, her idols, because she feels she doesn't measure up. I think this is pretty modest ;)

yeah, she went from having a African nose to a Caucasian nose but there's no nose job, right? I saw Mariah in person in 1990 way back probably before your born and know exactly how broad her nose was. And the entire world knows that is not the same nose. it's more obvious than Ashley's Simpson's. Mariah had a nose job in and around the daydream CD and it's obvious as night and day. It's one of the reasons she can't sing anymore, as her voice changed after the nose work.
Unless you know her personally, you have no way of proving that she did NOT get the nose tweaked. To many, it’s obvious. Some people wouldn’t even think her s- stinks.

she claims she hopes people in the future compare new singers to her. but as soon as Ariana got those comparisons, MC sorta went on the defense. perhaps it was cause ppl said Ariana is the NEW MC...as opposed to the Whitney comparisons were simply, she can sing, comparable to Whitney....the latter is a nice and incredibly complimentary comparison...while the former insinuates MCs time has passed (by way of age, dated sound and career misteps) and her new replacement is young, fresh and a proverbial blank slate.... which, is prime real estate, so the industry can put her thru the ringer. sorta like the lady gaga being the "new Madonna"....one thing thats true is that, men never go through that. r. kelly was not called the new Luther Vandross.. chris brown was not the new Bobby Brown. what an odd occurance
