I just watched this last week and OMG what a great action film. Gal Gadot delivered, Alia Bhatt executed and Jamie Dornan sealed. This film is worth repeating and I wish for a sequel with the way it ended ❤

I'm usually not a fan of Netflix action movies (a few exceptions), but this looks good. Why oh why would you NOT put this in theatres?!
You don't simply "put a movie in theaters". First you have to find a licensing agreement with a distribution company, then it is screened for perspective buyers representing theaters, then there's a lease agreement between the distribution company and theater owners, how many screens will the movie be played on, how many weeks, how much percentage tickets sales, merchandising, etc... Then the film is delivered in 2 ways, a digital hard disk copy, or the most popular way, through a high-speed satellite directly from the distribution company, so it is harder to pirate. Gone are the days when the projector is behind you in the theater, now it is streamed directly from the distribution company onto the screen, that way, the film can be protected. I know the next question is why can't Netflix just distribute their own films, Netflix is a content provider, they either financed the project like this movie, or buy the movie/show rights from other studios, that's why you see shows like Money Heist and Squid Game, these shows are made in their respective country and then it is sold exclusively to Netflix for streaming.

Netflix has many reasons for not releasing movies theatrically but it’s certainly got zero to do with the difficulty of ‘putting a movie in theatres.’ In fact, it’s so easy for them to release a movie in theatres, that they’ll release it for just a week, so that it qualifies to compete for Oscars.
They don’t do it because it’s not their model. Theatrical revenue, is/was not as important as subscriber growth. Don’t mislead people.
Don't be fooled. This will be another trash Netflix "blockbuster". It'll have a few good action scenes, but the story and writing is gonna suck as they usually do.
