Total 352 players on this flight. 43 move on to day 2. i finished in 24th position with 1.393m(illion) in chips to take with me to day 2 plus the 2x min cash that was awarded for completing day 1. day 2 will be for pay jumps on March 7. looking forward to that. time for some rest. i had as much as 3m but can't win 'em all ;) i'll be able to play in some minor tourneys for the next few days til day 2.
i know guys who have been playing this for the last few weeks and have bought 15+ bullets to try to make it to day 2. i got lucky and made it on my first bullet. ;)
can someone clear this up for me (first hand, 2nd line on the turn), yes 550/1580 is ~35. So *hero* need Villain to fold 65% of the time. But Villain is looking at a 2130 pot, and needs to call 550. 550/2130 is ~26%. So when making bluffs should we be looking at odds from Villains perspective to try and figure out what his defending range will be? The difference being his range often has more that 26% equity against us, and from his perspective he can be wrong 75% of the time, vs from our perspective where we need 65% folds.
The pot is not 2130 until after villain has called so no, he's not getting 550/2130. You're only allowed to use your bet as a part of the pot when calculating fold equity. Pot odds are always bet to call divided by pot before call is added to the pot.

As I understood by researching web for this concept. Equity percentage needed is not the same as minimum defence frequency. In this case villain needs 26% (550/2080) equity to continue breakeven and hero's bluff needs to work 35% (550/1530) of the time. Minimum defence frequency is 65% of his range for villain and he needs 26% equity to breakeven. I think thats it.
Jonathan, may I know your opinion here? Around 9:00 (first example). Actually I would say it depends on your goal/target. Do I want to make opponent fold on a flop? or on a turn? If I would like to make opponent fold on the flop, obviously I want to force him to throw away Ax hands and other over cards, and other small pairs and draws. Maybe even 8x with bad kicker. So I am betting on bigger size and I would say betting range from 66%-75% is fine. If I would like to make opponent fold on the turn to keep his Ace highs and over cards in and all his small pairs one one pair hands (and draws) . Then I am betting 33% on the flop and then I am hitting hard on the turn around 70-80% to make him fold almost his whole range. Of course slightly matters what card appeared on the turn, but in most of cases this should work. Because we want to make even our bluffs generating value + (and now don't get me wrong) a lot of GTO players on lower stakes are not able to handle this. Well, at least online it works quite fine.

Jonathan Little, true, I think I will need to test different bet sizing to findout the sweet spot what is good enough to make them fold bigger part of their range, but also to avoid burning my money when they are not willing to fold decent made hand. in all honesty , I use to not like Alex , hated his ego , but, big BUT, i slowed my pride and bought his book, and let me tell you , i implemented some of these exploitative play on 2/5 games and I destroyed the game and felt good. Now I very much like Alex. thanks Alex, i made you some(bought your book) $$$ and you made me some $$$$. Made 150 times the cost of the book in the 1st session.
have another question :) you say two cards 9 and below with no strait draws can handle any bets that we saw today - does that not include flush draws? So if board K 7 2 with two clubs, are we still betting?

Hi. With 7Ts @ button, I feel that continuing to play small ball at turn & even river will be better after doing 33% raise on flop. If the villain calls 60% raise on turn then it will be a big pot for river. Will be nice to get suggestion.
The only problem is that you're setting your self up with a very high variance spot by allowing villain to get to the river. He'll get there a lot of the time or he'll know that he can end the hand and possibly win by calling the river. It's better to bet big on the turn, you risk less chips overall since you don't have to bet the river and villain is more likely to call you with a medium pair on the river knowing he won't have to face another bomb. Just bomb the turn :)
I am a bit confused on around the 22:30 mark. You talk about BB defending with 35 to 40% and a flat caller only having 12% - you advise to be careful firing c bet against flat caller. In the example you showed we open raised the button. Who is this flat caller? Sorry, I'm not following.
