I want to learn about you all who watch my videos. If you enjoy my videos for the music, tell me what your favorite video is so far :) I'm writing some new videos and i will have your stories in mind when designing my next videos. And if you're here for the tutorials, let me know what you are working on right now and what you would like to hear me talk about.
Any tutorials you put out are greatly appreciated and I always learn something from each one. My fav vid is a toss up between Valerie (Amy Winehouse) and Lauren Hill's version of Killing Me Softly ( I know it's 505 MKII but sure it could be adapted to 600). I've been working on a version of Billie Jean (Michael Jackson) that's just guitar, and bass along with a synth bass for a few spots but I'm having trouble getting drums to sound right. I can export a midi file of the correct drums to Rhythm Converter and then load it into the 600 but it creates one long drum track and I'm having trouble getting the different loops to come in and out on time. Would really like to see you do a video showing your take on that tune. Thanks, and keep up the amazing work!
lol I know it is a long chorus! 😆 I’ve had come good experience doing studio vocals and writing back ground parts and that has been great practice! Some are more tricky than others
Absolutely amazing. Fantastic looping song. I used to play Prince's Purple Rain album all the time along with "Little Red Corvette". He had some talented musicians backing him. Lisa and Wendy released their own album and his percussionist Sheila E released her own album " In The Glamorous Life" I played "The Belle of St. Mark" the first track so much it warped the album. Gotta love vinyl and the 80's. Great job. Thank you, Emily.
thanks for posting. I just ordered my RC-600. I've been looping drums, guitar, synth on a 1 track overdubs on a RC-3 for a while, gonna be interesting to expand !
Oh snap new toys! It's a constant process isn't it. My rig gets little tweaks and ideas from time to time. Let me know what you think of the new pedal! I hope it helps you continue to express yourself freely!
Lol, the guys from "The Office" raising the roof during your solo was hilarious. Always appreciate that you share the build-up of your looped songs especially as looper myself. It's always interesting to see another person's workflow and how they arrange a song. Great Job! I'm working on incorporating a Roland HPD-10 (digital hand percussion) into my set. It's been a welcome addition to just beatboxing and tapping my instrument.
Thank you Emily - love watching your performances - its great to see how you build the loops, that really helps to see someone as talented as you break it down. much love ❤
Oh I love hearing that!! I’m glad you like seeing the breakdown part. I like seeing the process of other creative people and so I’m glad you like see mine too
You make great content, Emily! :) Also enjoy seeing another keyboardist in the live looping sphere. I find a lot loopers play guitar or use a multitude of instruments. The latter is too overwhelming for me and not enough space. I'd knock stuff over constantly. Lol. Makes me realize that there isn't any unspoken rules in terms of instrumentation.
Totally! What I love about using a Looper, is, I can utilize more of the skills that I’ve worked so hard to create. And your foresight is apt, because eventually, having the space to fit and use all the instruments around you, can become an issue lol.
@@EmilyMcVicker Well, where I live is super expensive. Folks have go live with roommates and just rent a room as opposed to a full apartment. So I've tried to keep whatever set up I have tiny and mobile.
Haha maybe you should! I mean if you play gigs solo, it’s definitely the way to go. I was first inspired by KT Tunstall. It enables you do use more of ur skills at a gig if you can get comfortable with it
Thanks Emily. Listening to twitch music i've been drawn to artists who do looping as its so impressive. I've wondered how it was done and I really enjoyed the video Emily.
Amazing sense of timing without a click track. You're my favourite loop performer after Ed Sheeran. If you ever did a show in Ontario Canada, I would pay to see you perform in a heart beat!
you keep inching me towards upgrading to the RC-600 every time I see your videos. Great job here. Also, what in-ear monitors are you using? I absolutely hate fiddling with chords, but a bit concerned about latency while playing...
Ha! You’re sweet. If you play out and loop a lot, the RC 600 is nice. For in-ears, I’m using shure 425s. They are okay. I think I would like having custom molds to my ears. But for right now I’m just using generic. When are you having the biggest issue with latency?
What an inspiration, you organize your tracks so well, but also leave enough room for you to be in the moment! Brava! Question: Do you still use the 505 MKii? Or did you transition to the 600? Thanks for sharing!
You’re very kind! Thanks for the comment :-) I use both of them, but usually for different kinds of gigs. I prefer the 505 if I am just singing, but if I am accompanying myself on guitar or piano, it’s just a little easier to work the Looper with my feet, since they aren’t busy lol. But they’re both great! I need to make some more 505 videos.
@@EmilyMcVicker thanks! I have an mkii, that I’m just starting to get to know. It’s a little bit of an adventure! I happen to like the hands operation, as I’m looping a sousaphone, & have a free hand.
Oh yay! Yes I use them both. Probably always grab the foot looper first just because I’m often playing an instrument. They are essentially the same machine w the same capabilities, they just come in different shapes. Do you use the 505 mainly?
Hello there! Is there a way to turn off input monitoring on the RC600 Im sending logic audio to my boss RC600 out of an audio interface output and into inst 2. I have no issues with that, i have the output set correctly on my interface and I'm able to record sound onto the boss. However I'm trying to get rid of the input monitoring. Is there a way that i can turn off the input sound on the boss and only hear the track after its been recorded? Id like to be able to loop drums and what not from logic but currently when i do that i hear the drum vst as well as the input from the boss in logic. would be great to just hear the vst while recording on the boss, then when the loop begins i hear the loop. does that make sense? Hopefully you can help!
Yes you can! In fact that how I’m routing mine also when recording on the computer. Or else the sound would be phasing because it would double. You have to go into your routing settings and have the inputs bypass the looper.
You have a great sound when you harmonise! Thats not a very common thing. Mostly, self-harmonies can be bland but yours really work well 🤩 I come to watch your videos for the sound and your smile 😊
Like you, I also use an rc600 to create blues music with electric acoustic guitar and blues harmonica. I love your voice and cute conversations, so I look forward to your posts every time. My favorite musicians are Eric Clapton and Adele. I think Adele's same would suit your voice...(*^^*)

A hop and double click! Beautiful harmonies. Did you try the new 3rd party desktop editor for RC-600 and 505, the RC-Editor app?
I'm not even a Taylor Swift fan, but your recent cover of her is my fave. I think that's a testament to your talent and ability.

You're so great at laying the harmonies down! It's so hard to nail every take one after the other like that. Especially with such a long chorus!

I'm sorry, maybe I've already answered them a thousand times... do your feet go to the pedals without looking? It takes a lot of practice, right?
Ya eventually you don’t need to look. Muscle memory. Gotta make sure the pedal is on a surface that doesn’t slide away 👍
