What is so great about this diorame is the colour balance between all the elements, it is all optically tied together. Something that is much harder to achieve than one may think. As always thanks for sharing your superb work 👍
Wow...... Don't think from this and your previous projects that we've all, had the absolute honour and pleasure of you sharing your quite simply talented work. Please stay safe, family too... You have no getting better to do in my eyes. Brill stuff
Fantastic tutorial Clayton, that has given me the confidence to try doing the same. Whilst I myself haven’t zapped myself with a static grass applicator yet, I do have a certain Hamfisted friend who has😂
Nice template for creating a great diorama with a representation of the individual steps to success. Nice to see and the result is convincing. Great job, Clayton. greetings and a nice weekend. Joachim
Very nice build mate, looks really good and gets over the story you're wanting to tell. Myself I have swapped out a lot of the products I used to use for aquatic supplies, the really fine sands, the gravel and stone. They are a really good alternative.
I love these mini series where you build the model, paint and weather it, and then build a diorama for it! What size static grass do you use for these 1/35 dioramas?
Hi James. I can’t exactly recall, but I think between 3-4mm. Glad you’ve enjoyed the series. Plenty more to come! Thanks for taking the time to connect 🍻🍻
Hi Clayton, that was an absolutely stunning little diorama, you have brought the scene to life, congratulations on the great work, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia, Les
Wow! Beautiful work. I've been searching for this kit, with no luck, as it appears to be out of production. Perhaps I can do a kit bash.. Anyway, well done sir!!👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I’m pretty sure this is one of the kits Dragon is rereleasing…so I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to find it pretty easily soon. Its just a matter of the price they’ll be charging for it 🫣
Great tutorial Clayton, and the final scheme looks amazing. Thanks for the build tips for those of us still struggling to put a well crafted diorama together. I think a vignette or diorama is the best way to show off your models, as it puts them in context with the model’s characteristics. Keep the content coming mate, and cheers ‘till next time! 😊
Thanks Gary. Completely agree with you. I’ve just struggled to make them in the past…but I feel like I’ve turned a corner. Appreciate your thoughts as always 🍻🏆
Awesome work Clayton! You make it look so easy. I plan to try and build some dioramas to add life to a lot of tanks I have built over the years. Great tutorial. Take care😊
hi my dear Clayton, how are you?me i'm fine when i see your superb diorama!i also use the electrostatique device for the grass, thanks for the tips, cheers Patrick🤗
Looks great Clayton! I think it is inevitable to get shocked by a static grass applicator, and most of us have probably had that happen. Nevertheless, the diorama looks great, and it definitely captures that historical picture well.
Great diorama Clayton! Very superb work and well, as the year is coming to a close I think we can all start to make New Year’s resolutions in the aspect of the hobby. I’ll start with mine: stop buying more and start building more 😂😂but that will be more easier said than done! Great job again and hope that videos like this might change my view and start like you getting serious about the diorama investment!
Hi 👋 I use a couple of led lights either side of the model and an overhead one. I’ll do a video on the setup soon as a few people ask. Thanks for joining in 🍻
Great question. The foam is pretty easy to sculpt using a blade or take to it with a rasp file. You don’t have to use the Hotwire. It just makes the process a bit quicker. Hope that helps.
@@workbenchhobbies4316 Our local Bunnings hardly ever carries it, and it's quite expensive when they do. I do have a large block that I bought years ago, but it's nothing like the neat little blocks and tiles I see on various UA-cam videos.

Love your stencil work . . would love to learn to do that.
I’m at a bit of an advantage with the vinyl cutter I have…but you could probably hand cut this one ☝️👍

I feel that! 😉 I have a huge stash of kits but, I'm trying to be better about building them too. Just chip away at it one kit at a time 💪💪
Wear neoprene coated cut gloves to not get lit up on DC from your Static Grass applicator.
Oh! Great suggestion, but I guarantee you it will never happen again 🤣 Thanks for sharing 🍺
Beauty, what do u use to light up area for recording?

What do you mix with the mud compound to make it liquid?
The ak terrains paste is a water based acrylic. It tends to dry out over time so just adding some water gets it fluid again
Can you link all the products you used please.
Was there something in particular you were after? I’m away from the studio at the moment
How do I do ruts in the foam with out wanting to buy a hot knife. Same with the fall off what can I use?
Great question. The foam is pretty easy to sculpt using a blade or take to it with a rasp file. You don’t have to use the Hotwire. It just makes the process a bit quicker. Hope that helps.
Hi Clayton, was wondering where you got your xps foam? Ive found it difficult to get here
I’ve had mine for ages…but I’m pretty sure bunnings sell it. Have you tried there?
@workbenchhobbies4316 cheers mate, the stuff ive found at bunnings has been a bit rough but it may just require some trimming then
Let me know how you go 🙌🏼
Nice one, Clayton! Where do you get your XPS from? I've found that it's neither cheap nor easy to find, so some pointers would be welcome!
Hi Kevin. I’ve had my stash for years, but I’m pretty sure Bunnings carry it. One block should last you years
