Although the time machine hasn't been invented that would take us back to meet these geniuses, we do meet them, in a sense, when we hear their music. This is how they live on past their lifetimes. Fast forward to today, and there's so much music of so many different kinds and times in the world, yet there's something cosmic about hearing music composed centuries earlier, partly because we're hearing these works played by modern orchestras, but mainly because the music has lived that long.
Why are there no composers like Mozart and Beethoven any more? For great classical music we have to look back, for there is none in the present nor likely in the future. Very unfortunate. Music of this quality lifts souls and that's never been needed more than it is now.
I don't know...but maybe it is something to do with the inability or reluctance to apply a lifetime's relentless and dedicated effort, and practice, as well as ingenuity. For example could the merchants of some of the egregious tat which passes for art today begin to achieve the intricate work of a Velasquez? Ditto a pop group the work of Scarlatti? What's your take on it?
Ambos Mozart e Beethoven seram eternos.
When I fly gliders and wish to stay close to my club's grass strip, just circling on rising air currents, I hear Mozart. When I want to take that same lift and punch through the sky towards a more distant goal, I hear Beethoven.
Mozart I love him ,Mozart's music make me soft flyyyyy , Bethoven's music It's so strong emotion but Mozart's music strong and powerful. The both are the Best Artist of all Time .
JOHANNES BRAHMS (1896): "I always find Beethoven's C Minor concerto (the Third Piano Concerto) much smaller and weaker than Mozart's. . . . I realize that Beethoven's new personality and his new vision, which people recognized in his works, made him the greater composer in their minds. But after fifty years, our views need more perspective. One must be able to distinguish between the charm that comes from newness and the value that is intrinsic to a work. I admit that Beethoven's concerto is more modern, but not more significant!I also realize that Beethoven's First Symphony made a strong impression on people. That's the nature of a new vision. But the last three Mozart symphonies are far more significant. . . . Yes, the Rasumovsky quartets, the later symphonies-these inhabit a significant new world, one already hinted at in his Second Symphony. But what is much weaker in Beethoven compared to Mozart, and especially compared to Sebastian Bach, is the use of dissonance. Dissonance, true dissonance as Mozart used it, is not to be found in Beethoven. Look at Idomeneo. Not only is it a marvel, but as Mozart was still quite young and brash when he wrote it, it was a completely new thing. What marvelous dissonance! What harmony! You couldn't commission great music from Beethoven since he created only lesser works on commission-his more conventional pieces, his variations and the like. When Haydn or Mozart wrote on commission, it was the same as their other works."

I’d say Beethoven. The mystery, the surprises, the emotion, the finality of his music is something I could never fathom. Even in blindness, his was completely otherworldly. Mozart in incredible as well. The majesty of Handel omg. Those 3 remain my very best ever.
Before everyone starts arguing which is better! Really? Beethoven is greater! Mozart is greater! Does it truly matter? Now everyone comes: Beethoven was deaf, sure! But that doesn't at all matter when composing or making music. Just like Mozart he could compose in his head, although Mozart was even better in that case. ( Mozart composed symphonies within days, composed the Don Giovanni Overture the night before the premiere, it was as all in his head ). Both are amazing but you can't decide which one is better based on whether he was deaf or not. Also Mozart died young, if you were to use deafness in you criteria of deciding which one was better, you can for sure also use age. If we were just to compare hem both at the age of 35, Mozart definitely was better, but Beethoven lived longer, that's reality. So? Beethoven was deaf, Mozart died young. Both terrible things! But solely saying the deafness puts him above Mozart is a no go. By comparing the music however, we can definitely say they're on the same level. My opinion however is is that Mozart is more of a genius ( He had inner freedom and he never had trouble with composing, Beethoven had! ) but sometimes I like Beethoven more, Beethoven is more like the limit of music and Mozart the perfection of music. Beethoven makes my blood flowing, Mozart makes me feel like I'm in heaven. I love them both, which one is better? Does it truly matter? After all, many people nowadays prefer Miley Cyrus over both of them... :(
Who careees! There is not such a thing as one better than the other that stupid obsession of number one, that mega stupidity of EGO Both are geniuses! Or maybe someone has a golden medal to give them....
well, we're not picking any sides here. We totally agree with you - both men were geniuses. We simply thought if would be interesting to hear everyone's opinion, and have a little fun with our usual Wednesday live streaming :) they never would have "fought" in real life - we know Beethoven admired Mozart, and had Mozart lived longer, the admiration would surely have been mutual.
Mr. Wesley Thomas, you go to the point. We can't say who is the best. Both are awesome composers. Beethoven death, Mozart never makes a draft of his compositions. Therefore both are amazings composers.

Ive never heard of Requiem before but goodness heck after listening to a lot of Mozart pieces and listening to this at night, I must say Mozart did an supereality job of composing requiem. For someone who is known for his light-hearted music, hearing requiem is definitely a change of pace. How can a piece of music be so pretty and creepy at the same time - Music is beautiful- even if Im no fan of playing the classical music itself -
Please listen to the entire Requiem. It is a piece of music composed of several sections. One section is more beautiful than the next. It is based on the religious service for the deceased. The piece is based on the prayers of that service. The entire composition is magnificent and should be heard at least once in a person's lifetime.
I have to give to edge, if there is any, to Beethoven. Remember, he was losing or had lost his hearing coming onto the end. To have created such music with impaired hearing has to be inspired by a greater source. Both are tremendous. and it depends on one's mood.
Mozart is deeper, in general his most powerful compositions are incomparable. No one else has so much variety and depth in one music. Moreover, he wrote in different genres and his music is not repeatable. And Beethoven is the best continuation of Haydn. Yes, he, too, can say the strongest, but not like Mozart. This is clear. If you completely surrender to music, you understand that he lags behind Mozart. This is more evident in the best works of both masters. The color of music from Mozart is not repeatable; he never took something similar from anyone. All colors of Music are unique and not repeatable. And style and harmony and everything. Music just flies with Mozart or is it something incomparable!
Mozart or Beethoven? It depends on how you are feeling on the day you listen. Sometimes you will prefer Mozart and sometimes you will prefer Beethoven. Also the season of the year, the breakfast you had, the fight you had or did not have with your partner. The more melancholy I am the more I prefer Beethoven. The more joy I feel the more I prefer Mozart. Then again I still prefer Tchaikovsky to both!
To me : Ludwig Van Beethoven...... There are many beautiful music still not introduced in the list here of Beethoven...........Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Minor, Op. 37: II. Largo............. This is the most beautiful piece i had ever listened and its of Beethoven........

For me it's Beethoven. Listen to the 5th and 9th Symphonies....works of a genius. Anyway they cannot be compared. Mozart is more classical and Beethoven's work was more expressive.
Congratulations to all who strive for a better world, especially the people who brought the musicians Mozart and Beethoven in this video!!!!!!

Their music has continued to live on through centuries and I'm not sure if music nowadays will ever prevail in that
The beauty here is that u can't love one but not the other .. they both are amazing
Why to compare ...
They both are "MASTERS" ❤️❤️
Why are there no composers like Mozart and Beethoven any more? For great classical music we have to look back, for there is none in the present nor likely in the future. Very unfortunate. Music of this quality lifts souls and that's never been needed more than it is now.
For the same reason as there are no Michelangelos or Leonardo's.
@@phillipfry2981 Which is? :)
@@phillipfry2981 alma Deutscher
There are still are great classical composers like Alma Deutcher, Philip Glass, Ludovico Eianudi and much more.
Ill give this to Mozart, some melodys are so beautiful combined with his perfection,...its pure heaven

When I fly gliders and wish to stay close to my club's grass strip, just circling on rising air currents, I hear Mozart. When I want to take that same lift and punch through the sky towards a more distant goal, I hear Beethoven.
Very specific i see
Mozart I love him ,Mozart's music make me soft flyyyyy , Bethoven's music It's so strong emotion but Mozart's music strong and powerful. The both are the Best Artist of all Time .
I love... Amadeus Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Chopin, and others.... Actually, I like classic music, because relax me so much.... 😍😍😍😍
What a competition! Whoever turns out to be the 'winner', very grateful to be able to listen to such a wonderful collection of music. Magnificent.

Halidon music really does produce the best classical music I've ever heard
Thank you for this beautiful music. Heaven sent!
They're both incredible and perfected music in their era.
impossible to say who was the best. each one represented the top in his era, mozart is perfection, beethoven is the triumph of emotions
I’d say Beethoven. The mystery, the surprises, the emotion, the finality of his music is something I could never fathom. Even in blindness, his was completely otherworldly. Mozart in incredible as well. The majesty of Handel omg. Those 3 remain my very best ever.
Fine introduction for people wanting to appreciate the beautiful music of both legendary composers.
Thanks Randy, we're happy that you think so :)
Iubesc aceasta muzica !
There's excitement in the air when this music is playing!
It doesnt matter... Bach beat them all
This is good music
Who careees! There is not such a thing as one better than the other that stupid obsession of number one, that mega stupidity of EGO
Both are geniuses! Or maybe someone has a golden medal to give them....
Eugenia Pwilk who cares... Bach is better than both
Dennis Blijleven took it away at the end lol and ps I am a fan of rimsky Korsakoff

I get to work "strung out from the road" with my one hour commute and put this on low volume and in no time at all am happy again.
We're glad to hear it William! When it comes to recharging your mental batteries, Mozart and Beethoven sure help.

How silly -- to compare the incomparable. Beauty is beauty.
well, we're not picking any sides here.
Therefore both are amazings composers.
amen
You've made a mistake. Beauty is everything but it is certainly comparable.
You’re right. That’s like comparing Michael Jackson to Freddy Mercury :/

According to my 7-year-old daughter, 'both of them are beautiful' 💓 🎶

this kind of music makes me feel alive
Remember Beethoven couldn't even listen to his own masterpieces
@@azl9109 You clearly haven't listened to the late quartets Beethoven

Mozart or Beethoven? It depends on how you are feeling on the day you listen. Sometimes you will prefer Mozart and sometimes you will prefer Beethoven. Also the season of the year, the breakfast you had, the fight you had or did not have with your partner. The more melancholy I am the more I prefer Beethoven. The more joy I feel the more I prefer Mozart. Then again I still prefer Tchaikovsky to both!
