Because he wanted to continue the game and win his wife and brothers back.
Had he didn't do that then according to the rules all the pandavas and draupadi were going to become slaves of Duryodhan all their life.

Imagine even Shri Ram had to go for exile in front of state politics then Pandavas were only normal human beings, imagine what would have happened to them if Yudhishthir had stopped the play and trigger war against Kauravas.
