    I am watching you from Silicon Valley, California and I'm from Palawan and left on and off since year 2000. Back then we did not want people to know how beautiful Palawan is. I always say to non-Filipinos to move to Thailand lol. I guess these islands cannot be hidden anymore.

      I know what you mean and how it makes you feel🙏🏻 I lived in a paradise too here in Arizona, for 22 yrs. It’s ruined now. Traffic for days! AND they took out traffic lights put in roundabouts which NOBODY in America know how to drive in😳🤪they just keep going in circles then panic how do I get out of here 😳😂😂😂. Prices always rise often double to rent or buy a home, food, services. Many tourists having no respect in all forms too. Eventually it cycles back around though, the good and locals come back. I’m grateful for any paradise! 🙏🏻❤️🤔

    That should be the first one that you visited when you arrive in the Philippines. It's the best island in the country and El Nido won #1 Island in the world a few times 😊. At least you're there now, I haven't been , it's #1 in my bucketlist when I come home for holidays

Woow the area is exciting to visit. Enjoy your getaway. You are a perfect reference for the places to live here in the Philippines. Thanks for doing all these great work. God bless you. Kudos!

      Island hopping in Honda Bay in Puerto Princesa is a lot of fun! If you can, rent a private boat for the day for around P4500, and move among the islands as you wish....much better than being herded around in a group tour.

    My sister has a three bedroom guest house on La Digue Island in the Seychelles, if you rent one room it is one hundred Euros per night and the entire house is 340 euros per night, My sister's house does not have a swimming pool. Now I understand even the most expensive island to live in the Philippines is way cheaper than living in the Seychelles. That I am comparing the most expensive Island in the Philippines with the most expensive Island in the Seychelles to live. I am sure you will not get a hotel room like this for less than 250 euros per night on La Digue.

    Wow the construction of these houses are next level. I can tell you in Florida my sister is spending $350,000 US now is pricing is close to $500,000 and her house we're slowly finding out is almost completely defective. Had to replace the ENTIRE air conditioning unit inside AND outside for the central air, the roof is almost 50% falling apart. All appliances that came with the house have been replaced not by choice, they shit the bed within first 3 years. We just had a $5000 plumbing repair because the builders used a bunch of wrong pipes in the downstairs bathroom we found out because sewage was backing into the neighbor's yard AND the tub in that bathroom. Plumbers showed her what was replaced. Now the tub in the in the bathroom upstairs everyone uses takes HOURS to drain and the Sinks in the master bath have the same issue. I told her to sue because all this IN 5 years is gross negligence IMO. And get this we have hurricanes as much as the Philippines has Typoons I think and the only glass in the house that's hurricane grade is the sliding back door. NONE OF OUR WINDOWS are hurricane grade. The thing that really grinded my gears was that the entire house isn't concrete/cement the bottom floor is and the upstairs is wood framed and a stucco finish in the outside. She really got suckered into this place. We're lucky we're inland in Central Florida and don't live on the coast, which is where I want to be, regardless of the storms. The beach is my inner peace. But we haven't been hit severely by a huge storm yet and I pray we don't.
    Mike u have really cool friends. I think this island is so magical and my definite speed and style, even though you and I are closer in age. But I don't discriminate as long as everyone's got a good vibe it works. I just say "No" to the "Karen" types and "Mr Karen"s. Lol
    Definitely putting this atop my list of places to I want to visit. 🫶🏻✌🏻

    • @ThatPhilippinesLife
      @ThatPhilippinesLife  6 місяців тому +2

      Palawan has had rules in place to protect the environment where Boracay didn't put the rules in place until after the shutdown. Every hotel must have a water treatment here for waste for example. I think the difficulty getting here definitely prevented it from getting too developed. The tourist area is actually pretty small part of the islands here.

    Wow overpriced for 4,800 pesos! Not even worth it!! No thanks…I’m frugal 😂. However the lot prices is cheap. It starts at 14k pesos. In 2016 I bought an empty lot in a subdivision in Cavite for 14k pesos and got a discount for paying cash. Nowadays the lot prices is 34k but sold out.
    Craziness the tourists are flocking and they raised the prices on everything! No wonder there aren’t any Filipinos there 😂 unless they’re rich or married to a foreigner 😢 Thanks for this helpful video 💙

      Why would ordinary filipinos flock to palawan if there are nearby beaches in their area. Im pretty sure there are carenderias out there catering to flipino workers or frugal tourists!

      I’m saying I’m frugal however I can afford to go. I worked hard and saved for my retirement at 53.
