The trash cans are elevated due to they took out the light fixtures to re do the rusty bolts/electrical. A cooling towel does wonders for the heat on jog/walk day. 👍
As someone who has done the run years ago I will say we actually had a hard time staying in front of the 16 minute sweeper because was so crowded and we definitely didn’t have time to stop for characters as there were lines for them and we were already in the back. It was cool being in the park and seeing backstage areas (before Star Wars). I would say enjoy the experience inside the parks and if you get swept after that who cares the rest of the run is boring anyway. 😁

Adam the Woo . We are all behind you mate . You can do it and you will finish the Disneyland Half Marathon very good luck to u on Sunday doing the run Disney
You should have signed up for the CHOC (Children Hospital of OC) walk last month. That was a leisurely walk abound Disneyland and DCA with characters meet and greet. I think that what you were expecting.
I feel ya . I’m just not making promises to myself or the world anymore bit looking forward to getting back home and back on track fully in October . Been away much too long
Tropicana looks like a decent place. I wondered about that place when I was looking up trips to California a couple years ago. Have not been there since 1993.
Hitting 15 minute/mile on a treadmill and walking 10-14 miles throughout the day doesn’t translate into training for a 13.1. Should of built up training outdoors to at least 8-9 continuous miles based on my 13.1 races.
Adam, just be safe if you get tired just don’t do it it’s OK but I hope you make it. I ran about 15 marathons and you never know which ones you’re gonna do good and you never know I’m rooting for you and thanks for everything you showed us on this trip and I’m glad you liked Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
In fact most people actually run a race meant to be run, fyi. Also, you don't walk 13 miles/day, because if you did, you'd be prepared. You had 8 months, and simply walking fast for 60-minutes/day would have made this much easier. You were quite motivated when you made this "announcement", and now that has all but disappeared. Sticking to things is important, as one day you'll discover.
GOOD LUCK! I've done several run Disney races to lose weight. Great experience. Not cheap but the swag and Finishers Medals are the best!! 1/2 Marathon was my longest. I finished in 3hrs & 20 min. I finished in 18,176th Place....Practically an Olympian!! The atmosphere is so motivating. Enjoy it!!
Remember you don't have experience doing the marathon, just preparing for it. So you're not going to have any real idea of what it's like until you do it. You do have the advantage of being tall which gives you a bigger stride so you can walk faster than the average person making it easier to walk fast. Speed walkers go about 15 minutes/mile with Olympic athletes walking at 6 miles per hour. So just walking it fast should work.
Make sure to eat before hand. I'd also recommend picking up a bottle of Pedialyte Plus Electrolyte Solution at a Walgreens, Rite Aid, or some place of the sort. I ride my bike long distance and if I don't have electrolytes in my system my calves and quads can cramp up like crazy.
Stayed at Tropicana many times when my girls were little and then Changed to Fairfield Inn and Suites. Both good locations to walk to the park. Good luck on Half Marathon!
Do what you want to do even if you make goals and do not meet them. Most folks do not even have goals. Point is always keep trying, always keep reaching. Oh and I do sugar free vanilla latte with almond milk. less carbs I'm pre diabetic. I lost almost 30 pounds in 6 months after cutting carbs.
Adam iam rooting for you, i wish you all the best with the race.If the race is early in the morning, it may not be so bad but take care. From Universal Jamie.
You got this!!! STRETCH before you start, hydrate the entire time…. Helps with the heat and also your joints. Also….be aware of how you are feeling in the heat and quit if necessary….dehydration is no joke. Praying it all goes well!! Be proud of your efforts! 😊 have fun!!
Good advice. The start time for the Disney races are usually very early so hopefully he's close to done before it gets hot. I was done by 10 or 11 am and I was a slow fat guy. Fun to pass thin people at mile 10. The look of shock was funny! 😂
8:59 they used to have sugar-free pumpkin spice, when they first brought it out. They also used to have sugar-free peppermint for the Christmas drinks. I don’t understand why they took away all the sugar-free options. I guess they just want America to be obese. But yeah, I have this discussion every holiday season at Starbucks 😂 but the sugar-free vanilla is a good substitute but it’s just so basic. Hey Adam, I decided to walk the I Dream of Jeannie Half Marathon only because of the swag…it was the Jeannie bottle. I was bad and never trained either, but I crossed the finish line. It would have been much easier if they didn’t have the ending part of the route on the beach! I am happy now that I did it. You will do fine….be careful of that heat!
Oh that shirt is cool. Have an enjoyable time at the marathon. I know we will see it after. Make sure you hydrate before it as well. Hope the movie was good. I heard it's different.
I am currently training for the Wine and Dine half in November. I’m actually really enjoying the process. Doing interval training. Not perfect but trying my best ❤ Good luck to you🎉
Stay cool, Adam! It’s going to be another hot day. I had planned on going to the Planes Of Fame in Chino this morning for an event but it was canceled because of the heat. They said it would be 106 or more and on the tarmac it’s even hotter. Have a good day!!
I did the half in WDW 2020 & didn't run most of it. Stopped for 2 official pics. Had a blast. They had to sweep the full marathon early due to heat, so we got lucky the day before. Look up recovery techniques. I too often walk extensive distances over the day, but cramming it in to few hours & jogging on road & not a cushioned treadmill hits different. I hope you enjoyed none the less.
I knew you were in trouble when if Florida you had trouble practiong running around your town. In this heat I wouldn't want to try it. There is a good chance of heat stroke.
Good luck Adam! Good news it should only be in the mid 70s at start time and not hit 100° till noon, so hopefully you'll be getting done when the really hot weather hits! Stay hydrated!!
Good luck Adam you took the challenge, that’s what natters, whether you come in 10th, 100th or last, you are/were in it, It’s quite an experience, Ignore the creeps ! ❤️🙏🏽🌴
A Disney race might be different but typically you don’t wear the race shirt until you’ve earned it by crossing the finish line. That’s kind of an unwritten rule with runners. Good luck though!
@@TheDailyWoo Like I said Disney may be different since it’s a Disney event but people who wear their race shirt for the race are typically first timers. And heck I might even make an exception for a Disney race! So don’t feel like you can’t. I’m sure most will be wearing theirs.
BTW, side note...if you find your feet hurting...DO NOT REMOVE YOUR SHOES. If you remove the shoes, the foot can expand making it difficult to get the shoe back on AND there are certain points where there is friction for blisters and those points change if the shoe is removed creating more blister. It sucks...it hurts, but you just have to embrace the pain for a short time. My first marathon I dressed wrong...cotton instead of wicking, removed shoes, tank top instead of t-shirt (welts in armpits as tank arm hole seem due to friction), no head covering (sunburn, sweat on forehead rather than being put to back)
the trashcans on boxes are probably where lamp posts and speaker posts have been removed for refurb since they keep falling on guests due to neglect and severe rusting of the bases.
The trash cans that are on an elevated box are locations where they removed a light pole. It's just an easy way to hide the hole in the ground where the light pole was.
So excited to see the content from this! Stay hydrated and drink lots of electrolytes - it really makes a difference. You are going to have an experience - guaranteed! Have fun and you're going to do great!
Please be safe and careful doing the run. We have only done a 5K and had a great time. It would be nice if they had short-sleeved shirts here in Florida they give out. We got long-sleeved ones and will rarely wear them due to the heat. The pins looked really neat. Stuff seems to sell out here in Florida much quicker, I think. We missed out on the pin we wanted with our only in-person race due to early entry for some and scalpers grabbing them all up.
I ran the Disney half marathon in 2009. I stopped training 2 weeks before because of smoke from the CA wildfires. There are plenty of water stations. Angel Stadium was the best part. They also put you on the diamond vision screen in the stadium. The post race activities and goody bags were pretty horrible for Disney.
This may be too late to ask but have you thought of getting a cooling vest and a cooling neck wrap? You can put both in the freezer over night and then wear it the. Ext day once your body gets too hot. It’s a game changer especially in the 3 digit heat. There are also different types of neck fans some of which you can fill with ice cold water to keep you cool. Just trying to help as I’ve had heat stroke from being in a non a shaded park during a coaster event. We had to get onsite EMTs and a nurse to place cold packs all over my body as I was close to passing out. The heat is not something to mess with!

Please consider doing the Honolulu Marathon. It's an open course meaning they close when the last person crosses the line. That have had Seniors and blind or other types of disabilities come across 15-20 hours later when you consider the winner are like 2:10:00 ish. My goal when I lived there was to get past Diamond Head into the Kahala area before seeing one of the front runners pass me as I went up DH. If you don't quit, the finish line will be open for you!
Frustrating that events like this sell out, and people who passionately want to run it .. and then you and your friend don't care if you even finish? I'm sure you'll make it to the end if your friend can keep to 15min/mi though. Good luck!
I just got here to Anaheim and I went to the Expo today and am doing the Half Marathon tomorrow too! I recently had to have knee surgery so I’m not sure how much running I will be doing either-and my Goal is to just not get swept 👍 Good luck to you-maybe I’ll see you 👍
You gave up on yourself! You started so strong with your training and daily treadmill walks. And then you let your travel get in the way even though every hotel has at least a treadmill to use. You can do it, it won't be fun but you can. Whatever your next goal is, fitness related or not, see it through for yourself! You deserve it!

My goal when I lived there was to get past Diamond Head into the Kahala area before seeing one of the front runners pass me as I went up DH. If you don't quit, the finish line will be open for you!
That sounds really cool
The Troll Patrol will be watching. 😂
You don't say ?
We all get nervous about something new. Phone for it!
Hi Adam. You can DO IT. Once you do it, you will proud that you did it. If you don't finish, at least you did your best. 😎👋🏻🇨🇦
Good luck out there, Mr the Woo. I just saw a 3.5 earthquake not far away, plus there has been some smaller ones. Let's hope 3.5 is the biggest.
Hey Adam, great video of attractions, health run expo and more from Disneyland-CA..Enjoy your weekend..
Good luck doing the marathon Adam!
Thanks Adam👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Frustrating that events like this sell out, and people who passionately want to run it .. and then you and your friend don't care if you even finish?
I'm sure you'll make it to the end if your friend can keep to 15min/mi though. Good luck!
Thanks Adam! Safe travels.
I signed up for my first 5k for April 2025 in WDW! Cannot wait! You got this Adam. I have a broken vertebrae and if i fan do it, you can too!!!
Thanks for the motivation !
You've got THIS 💪 @@TheDailyWoo
You’ve been eating a lot lately, Adam!!!
He stop eating healthy and working out the only thing he kept to is no soda
same here I even drink root beer plus dr pepper plus coke or pepsi sorry for being off topic.
Rude
Not a lot but I have been eating poorly again . Been tough
I just got here to Anaheim and I went to the Expo today and am doing the Half Marathon tomorrow too!
I recently had to have knee surgery so I’m not sure how much running I will be doing either-and my Goal is to just not get swept 👍
Good luck to you-maybe I’ll see you 👍
Good job Adam proud of you for even going out there be safe on your travels
You gave up on yourself! You started so strong with your training and daily treadmill walks. And then you let your travel get in the way even though every hotel has at least a treadmill to use. You can do it, it won't be fun but you can. Whatever your next goal is, fitness related or not, see it through for yourself! You deserve it!
Oh I know. Trust me, being gone from home two solid months already didn’t help that’s for sure . Still my own fault I agree
It's soooooooooooo hot right now in SoCal ....we are on Vacation from England , going to HHN Sunday , Disney Monday ...be careful plenty of fluids
Good luck. Don't fail us! I'm nervous for you
Best wishes for a fun time! You got this! 🎉
Keep hydrated brother. Love your videos please keep the stadium video’s coming.
Great Video! Looking forward to the next.
My only advice Adam is use an anti chaffing for nipples and groin area
I think you will do it easily, just try not to get in your head about it. ❤
All the best, hope you have a great walk/run/jog
Best of luck Adam.
In this heat?? That's insane.
