Mrbossftw, I love your rdr2 videos and I keep up with all of them, I am playing as John at the moment and finding all the Easter eggs and I have got 2 big horses with fluffy feet which I love, there my favourite types of horses but I've also got the white Arabian and the rose grey bay Arabian.
The strange man isn't Josiah my friend, he is the Grim Reaper for what I've seen, he knows all the sins and acts that Marston has made, he kinda warns Marston about his destiny by saying that he will be Responsible for his actions and most importantly, in the last cinematic he is standing literally where John is buried even saying "This is a fine Spot" another reason why is because in RDR2 there's a man camping near Armadillo who tells you the story of how the town got bankrupt and how people died, and with that he describes a man exactly like the Strange man that appeared in those moments and left like a shadowy being, even saying that he is not from this mortal realm, so that's the answer he is not Josiah, he is The Grim Reaper.

When I played rdr1 I already knew what happened during the quest and that he was invincible. As a result whenever I passed him on the cliff where you start his first mision, I'd get off my horse and push him off before riding away. I'm just gonna say he may be bullet proof but he ain't splat proof

I think that Josiah Trelawny died sometime in Red Dead Redemption 2 by pinkertons, probably near the same time Leopold Strauss did, and that's who the strange man in Red Dead Redemption 1 is. And the reason John doesn't remember him is because #1 Trelawny was away most of the time, #2 because it has been years since John has seen Trelawny. And who you see in Red Dead Redemption 1 is ghost Trelawny

Yeah, but why would they go from an American voice actor to a British one? I think they would've at least chosen the same sounding voice even if they did change the actor.
It could be a possiblity that since this is a prequel he could have been from over sees and over time it just dissipates becuase of the people he is surrounded by. Its just a theroy take with a grain of salt

Yeah but literally everyone who was aware of blackwater near enough knew about that girl and the heist, from blackwater to Saint Denis people knew all about that plus Dutch and the gang stirred up that much trouble every where that everyone would know a lot about them

Also in one mission, Arthur says that Trelawny is both unlucky and lucky at the same time and that he is always able to get out of dangerous situations, kind of like the strange man can’t die. Also, Trelawny is a magician, so, if Trelawny is the strange man, it could be possible for Trewlany to switch out John’s bullets when he wasn’t looking or something like that. It also seems kind of magic that the strange man always turns up in different parts of the map in RDR1 and that Dutch says that Trelawny always seems to show up wherever the gang is. There is a lot of similar traits like that that Mr.BossFTW didn’t mention.

Actually this can be connected with the theory of him being death. One thing I’ve thought of since watching this was the fact that he came back at an odd time. Literally just a few months then all hell broke loose and a lot of death occurred. He was also one of two people who left the camp for a short while without returning after a bit. The other being 🐀
If not death, possibly God. As he knows all and doesn't seem to directly affect the world but seems to just be watching

Actually the strange man could be Darious Fontaine from GTA SA on wctr during the interview with Cris Formage. Darious was called the devil multiple times and is believed to have ill intentions by lazlow Jones...

This is so stupid. Trelawny isn't the strange man because:
1. His voice is drastically different.
2.The strange man is imune to bullets, and we see in a mission in chapter 3 that trelawny is tortured.
3.John would remeber him.
4.The strange man is related in some way to death. This could be false but I think I have some evidence:
4.1.He says "this is a lovely spot" at the place where John is burried.
4.2.Herbert Moon isn't affected by cholera in Armadillo and he has a picture of the strange man.

The strange man is the grim reaper not trelawney in his last scene with John in rdr1 he was standing on John's future grave site and said aint this a pretty spot, see you around John. And you can also find his cabin in rdr2 as John and every time you go there a painting gradually gets painted which turns into the strange man's selfportrait and when you look into the mirror next to it he's directly behind you although if you look behind he won't be there you can only see him through the mirror it's so weird and creepy.

BIZO 420 true Boss posts a lot, but most of it is actually interesting and relevant. He often shows different encounters and secrets. While some of the videos I’ll admit aren’t up to par as the rest, he’s far better than what we often see of UA-camrs.

I think trelawny is, one of the strange man form. A lots of back story pointing at him how he always show up wherever Dutch and gang goes. Remember when Hosea and Dutch tell a Story how they met Trelawny in the middle Of NOWHERE, but he cant remember. And then they met again in some place where the getting some suplies. Pretty much like wherever the gang goes. Trelawny always show up like Watching them.
And then Before the Gang Broke apart he say goodbye to arthur. And he said 'See you soon' , I'll be back. Yeah well that's because, Arthur will die and might met him in other forms like the Elk saw before he died. And He Goes back this time as Strange Man, John Marston. And John Said He has a familiar face. John might not remember much about trelawny because there is not much encounter between the two in When arthur is alive. But still John still kinda remember his face..

You can photograph the strange man when he appears in the mirror after the portrait is finished, just take out the camera and photograph the mirror, never tried to open self portrait, maybe it’s even possible to take a picture of him and John together seeing as you don’t turn around organically when entering SP mode on camera. Either way you’ll notice very different facial structures when comparing to trelawny, it simply isn’t t him. Like I said before, why would he be conning folks out of a couple of bucks on the east side and causing an horrific fate of biblical proportions in armadillo, it’s a lot of small pieces of logic like that that make it clear it’s not him

Trelawny can't survive gunshots (he was beat up in one mission in rdr2), Trelawny would be recognised, Trelawny doesnt sound like that, Trelawny wouldnt have any motive to do what the strange man does - hes literally a conman, Trelawny wouldnt have such superior information (as in knowing where john will be buried)
Trelawny and the strange man look identical. but I don't think The strange man is Trelawny but a host body very likely, maybe something to do with Herbert Moon? Who made a deal with the strange man and hates the English. Of course John doesn't recognise him as Trelawny but he does recognize him as* somebody he knows* or somebody "familiar" . Maybe as John didn't know him very well or interact with him much he couldn't put his finger on it but I do challenge you to compare him with the strange man facial feature by facial feature because there is something fishy going on with how similar they are.

At the time of rdr1 john had turned his life around. The strange man is just his subconscious. Those are his inner type feelings and the strange man isn't even really there. He shot him and nothing happened? That's the biggest detail to me. The strange man isn't even really there, it's all in John's head
No it is real because he directed John to do things, if it was in his head then how would John's subconscious tell him to meet ppl who existed and actually needed help. Unless you want to also say the things John did for the strange man also never happened

No it's not one has an accent and one doesn't now the mysterious stranger does have some resemblance to trelawny like having a son and the clothes but the mysterious stranger is seen in a picture in armidilo and In Lamoyne, plus John reminds everyone else but trelawny no that's not it cheif I think he's God or some sort of angle one sporting fact is that he says he hopes his son ends up just like him you know a married man who does what he has to do and when John says "damn you" he says many have.
