Adding to my previous comment. One thing that is so important to learn and one of the hardest I think is to know when to pull yourself off a table. A true key to consistent wins!
Training usually assumes players at a table won't call raises with weak hands. Reality is that most low stakes games will have mostly multi-way pots. Learning how to manage multi-way play is key. In mostly multiway games, I offer two main pre-flop options: 1. Raise for a small amount to build the pot, as you expect several callers or 2. raise for a very big amount (even all-in) to limit the field. Most players don't bet at a multi-player pot without something, so most of the time you'll want to fold if you don't flop a strong hand. C-bets are usually hopeless multiway, especially since those who flop a strong hand like trips will sandbag. Make flop bets based upon the strength of your hand, and the likelihood that your hand is best. Usually top two pair or better should bet but maybe not when the flop is monotone or 3 to a straight. Anyhow, there's my book for you.
Pocket Aces - pre flop raise - miss the set on the flop 3H, 6S, JD - CBet half pot - Turn brings 7C - half pot raise as top pair - river brings 2 clubs - raise again - lose pot to fish that has pocket 2s and gets the set on the river. This is how I play poker
😂😂 I mean you need to realize that drawing pocket aces is the SAME probability as drawing any other pocket pair ? pocket pair is good hand but Aces dont really up the value in that sense.
Additional thought relative to hesitating to be aggressive - you are playing low stakes for a reason. Not just because of the opponents, but also the stakes. Makes it easier to shake it off when the fish hits the flop.
I don’t play poker for money but just with friends for chips while we drink alcohol or whatever and there might be like an occasional side bet but this video helped me. Thank you.
If I play AJo against someone loose and agressive and the flop comes random isn't there a good chance that they hit? Their range is wide and all I beat is a bluff
@@bionicle37 On a "random" flop their chance is no better than your own. But if you're talking T72 flop then they have more 72 than you so that's better for them. However, if the flop does not contain a 7 or a 2 then you have the better chance to hit. Also, if they have every pair then they have so many bluffs that you have to bluff catch much more frequently. How much more frequently depends on how wide they are and how much they make their bet.
It's next to impossible to be successful, at least All of the time, against clueless callers. I just exercise patience, fold or check when called, and get value from my small & medium hands. But oh, brother, when I flop the mortal nuts, I use their call all attitudes against them and clean up. Best of luck
Having the correct aggression in poker is the hardest step up to make , everything is telling you it won’t work but long term it’s been proven too . When you lose one you’ve raised it feels hard till your used to it and seeing profit
well its 80% or more luck to begin with, if this wouldn't be the case Phil Ivy and Negranu would have won all poker tourneys, but they did not, thats why it is called GAMBLING
I never hit the flop. I kinda like J9 but fold the flop with a good bet. But most players are amateurs and will call anything. But that’s gambling And people do it.
I played lastnight. Bought in for $300 at $1-3 got pocket Aces 30 min in and opened to $25. Had one caller…flop comes QT5…I c-bet $25 he calls…turn is a 5…I bet $50 he calls…river is a 5. I bet $100 he raise to $200 which puts me all-in after I call. He turn over 75off! Wth!! what could I have done differently?
i’d be betting way higher after the flop . u bet 50+ he’s probably getting out of there with bottom pair. the turn was his trips and he’s not folding unless you go all in on the turn. you could have A5-85 and be winning.
Learn preflop on Zeros thatcom You need to know went to fold or 4bet against a 3brt on certain position I'm new also I just loose 13$ my first day and since then I'm studying more than nothing preflop charts
Bet more than 25 on the turn. The pot was $50+ and you had a big lead at that point. If you put in $40 (i.e. 3/4s pot) and he calls, you'd know that he probably has *something*, and then it's easier to understand his range on the next card is potentially dominating your aces and stop throwing good money after bad.
I think you are seriously out of touch. The level of play at low stakes is much better than you describe. Do you still play or just post. Remember those that can do, and those that can't teach.
I tend to agree. Triple barreling with 2nd best pair for value is risky. The games I play only people calling (or likely reraising you on the river) are top pair or better. I do agre though to not let emotions throw away your profits.
Actually I play in south Florida and there are still plenty of fish. You need to play in a location where people have money or tourists come to visit and they don't care about losing. They are coming to just have a good time. Additionally to the fish players there are plenty of players on tilt and you can easily take advantage of that situation as well.
Have you tried this beginner poker strategy? Also, here is the simple trick I use to catch them bluffing: ua-cam.com/video/boE9ZOT5rfE/v-deo.html

Love your videos. My main problem is controlling my emotions. I make some dumb mistakes and go on tilt a lot. How do you control that?
Thanks George! Controlling your emotions is indeed a crucial aspect of poker success. I will make some new videos about this soon.

@@gergohegyesi2266 yeah but he assumes the fish checks it to you
The point is that a fish wouldn't be checking that flop once in a million years
@@karthickiyer8995 ….. the point is that a fish, even if they do pair the flop, there are outs for you to win… like a J

I just 😢the casino I raise AJ fish calls and drills a set on the turn. It’s very hard to win consistently in poker !
The variance in poker is real, keep playing your best!
Do I get this right: If you are still in after the Flop: raise half the pot. If you are still in after the River: raise 75% of the pot?

You have a straight you want them to fold on the turn fyi

What postion was the caller in? When he raised to 200, most likely it's a fold, especially with a pair on the board.
