The machining of that keyway using a drill press and hammer is truly epic.
Very Very good Job congratulations! Now It is New, Will work well Brasil
1:48 using a hex nut to cushion the lathe jaw is an indication of high quality and high precision work! This conforms to the Mickey Mouse & Chewing Gum Standard.
@@jeromepark7002 I would not. I don't have the skill or tools. I will need to have a welder, a lathe, a grinder at the minimum plus the skill to use these tools. Most likely the shaft would be replace with a new one or used part. Repairing like that is unthinkable because after all the repair work, the shaft now become unreliable. If I have to repair as the last resort, I would put in a few steel dowels and then welding to increase the shearing strength of the shift at the joint.
@@gooddealonly your a wanka the repair was strong and done very well with tools he had those shafts are not under that much load it may have been broken from being in an accedent or faulty timing gear bearing .in some parts. of the world you cant just go down to the corner dairy and buy a new shaft
first question that pops my mind. How the heck do you break the camshaft of a diesel pump ? And did they never hear of a center drill ?
It might work if it's for a low speed application like a pump on a low rpm diesel. I'm assuming it's for something really old where you can't get new parts anymore.
Prawdziwa praca ludzkich rąk brawo pozdrowienia z Polski
23:07 I would have never thought of that technique.
Amazing work by highly skilled tradesman 😊
Nice repair, but in the USA that shaft would go to the scrap bin. The labor charges would exceed the coast of a new part.
Yes that why the so called Third World countries contribute towards the carbon deficit that the so called developed nations are piling up
yea but the labour in that country would be miles cheaper than inporting the part i think he did very well
the camshaft is a one-piece forged part that is not welded with electrodes. metal spraying on worn cams is the maximum. as an option friction welding.
A camshaft doesn’t have an armature. But now we have a pump which works!!!
Stavros
Great idea and amazing work ! This goes on only in some parts of the world..😁
According to the channels 'about' page, he is based in the United Kingdom. Pretty sure he is not following the UK's strict health and safety legislation though...
Good job PK Process
Even if the welding rod is the same high carbon steel would the repair really last as the cam shift is tempered now after a weld has been done the structure could well be different. Would have to bench test under torque to verify strength an durability.
Oh I'm sure after he was done they immediately shipped it to Europe for electrical induction hardening to realign the mecular structure of the entire shaft for maximum strength. Or not.
Well done!!!
Un trabajo muy delicado y de presicion
there was no need for that, after having calibrated it, I would graft the small piece and the large one, then I would open a V-shaped channel and fill it with solder, then I would do the finishing.
Salam from malaysia.good job boss😍😍😍
I just wonder how tight someone wound that chuck key to get that bend in it !
Super travail merci pour cette vidéo sympas

EXCELENTE , PERO YO NO MONTARÍA ESTE CIGUEÑAL EN MI VEHÍCULO
It may work, but the repair bill certainly is more than a new camshaft?
Bahut acche bhai jaan bahut acche
If the camshaft broken on government assembly side then its ok to repair BUT if someone will try to weld it from timing penion side then the timing would get out ... and get wrong firing and it could cause trouble
God job brow
I want same this pearsun for work with me
Wow!
The secrets of pakistani rocket techniques!
What camera you use?
Bet these pakistan guy can repair a Space Shuttle with just a lathe and some weilding rods
For your this much of efforts you need some more quality of tools and equipments
Great work Sir
Amazing work
Ovo si sada raskalio lalko ! Moze ovo rode, ali mora posle termička obrada , cementacija i td.

Why not cover the cam when welding
A temporary bodge at best, in accurate measuring tools . Not even DTI setting up for 4 jaw chuck , not impressed at all, using a saw on a lathe!, not a parting off tool FFS . The turning was isn't to man in a shed standards , no coolant incorrect turning speeds , no centre drill , this is a piss take of real engineers, rough as F..K
PERFECT !!!
Now if we were able to see how it works when it’s put back into the machine/engine it came out of. This is just theatre showing people this stuff. All this means nothing if there nothing to judge the work off of.
Very Crude......... The New metal is much different than the base metal...... Horrible protection of the existing shaft and lobes......... Armature hour, the whole way...........
wake up mate they are in a third world country and dont have the luxuries obviously that you have being the expert that you are smell the roses mate
However, that is a lot of work for a dubious repair. It looks whole, but there are hidden fault lines. It would be cheaper, quicker and more psychologically trustworthy to get a proper replacement
@@trevormoore4138 Trevvy....YOU my friend are an IDIOT! This is hack work & you defend them? As I said earlier...YOU are an IDIOT!
Maybe if I was stuck in a submarine I’d resort to this level of bodge, but nowhere else.
Welded camshaft will never hold, the keyway isn't cut correctly won't be able to mount the timing gear, and I saw this right he put the threaded end into the lathe clamp right, lol.
And that weld is EXACTLY where it will break again. Welding a crankshaft back together, lathing it down and calling it a job done? Where the F is the hardening? Jesus Christ it makes me wonder how many times that same shaft has been put back together.

Umm yeah osha.
quedo desplazada la chaveta
So you fix the cam but it won't fix the engine. Chicken or the egg
The easiest and safe is to buy a new one.
Another one of their comedy videos.
First, repair the lathe.
No les da verguensa presentar eso...
Couldn't watch the video after he drilled the center. Common sense...left the building-hut-hovel.

The answer is: NOPE! But nice try.
Waste of time. Will not work
This is an epic clown show! These shafts are typically case hardened. You cant just weld it without stress relieving it….before you machine it. This is a joke!
This is the most resourceful culture on UA-cam. I don't know if or how long these repairs last, but they do at least make it look good. I did cringe when he drilled the part without center drilling it first! He held the drill bit by hand to center it.
