Feels these developers charging these higher prices are still stuck in P3D FSX marketing mentality. There are add ons being released in the 15 to 20 price range that come much more complete. Pass.
Selling at lower prices is so much smarter as well. The market in MSFS dwarfs the P3D/XP12 market. Reducing your price from $60 to $20, you will sell SIGNIFICANTLY more copies that will outweigh the $40 price cut. That being said…$30 for MSFS means it should visually meet the standards.
As someone who produced payware, I doubt most developers make enough money off MSFS add-ons to actually justify the time spent, I certainly wouldn't be able to make living off it, not even close. And don't forget MS takes a huge cut of the price. Having said that there are developers who are just more experienced and able to make all these BESPOKE (sigh) cockpits and high res textures etc. while others are still learning, and it's a big learning curve. Hopefully he will make free updates that improve it over time, as for example the V-22 developers are constantly doing.
Yeah I was pretty shocked that the C-130 was selling at $24 AUD just for the exterior with no virtual cockpit... like worth $5... maybe $10 at most for nothing but an outside model.
00:40 seconds in and expectations are immediately lowered after reading this. UPDATE: Expectations weren't as unfulfilled as i initially thought, maybe i am a easy to please person. Especially if there's some rendition of military aircraft I can formation fly with in other payware jets.
The flight model is quite bad. You can't fly higher then FL250, there are just no performance data modelled for any altitude above. Also there is no APU even though the A400M has an APU For me, not all hope is lost tho. The cockpit of the a400M is based on the cockpit of the A380( if you look at them side by side they are actually quite similar) so I hope that once, Fbw releases the A380, someone like headwind, will pick it up and does a model for the A400 based on the FBW A380
Thank you for your honest review, it’s a great shame that this aircraft hasn’t been brought up to the standard that we now expect from msfs ! As you say it is hoped that Roland Laborie will take notice of the reviews and rework the function and texture and sound deficiencies ❗️ So for me, I don’t think that I’ll purchase it for the full price ❗️
Thanks for the review, save 30eu out of my pension. Will wait until they upgrade it to MSFS, straight honest review appreciated. There are better cockpits on some cheaper aircraft. Let’s hope they wise up and put in the work. Thank you
Thank you for another useful review. It feels like this offering is at the same level of non-fidelity as the Latin airbuses although they may have better physical models. It may appeal to some people but I feel it is over priced for what it offers. I would like to believe it would get updates, but to make this a serious model I feel that is unlikely to occur. So for serious simmers I feel this option is too weak. It is a resounding NO from me.
I agree. I have strong buyers remorse because I jumped to acquire it before reading reviews, as I was looking forward to a C130-type aircraft (with cockpit). So disappointed.
Following my last comments; Roland Laborie has updated the aircraft and is now available as Version 2; with updated cockpit, hud and propeller textures. It’s much, much better now and R L is continuing to improve this brilliant aircraft!
Expectations weren't as unfulfilled as I initially thought. Or maybe I am a easy to please person, especially if there's some rendition of military aircraft I can formation fly with in other payware jets. Just a slightly cheaper cost should be fair.
I keep getting a warning, "PTU Heat". Can you tell me where to find that switch. I have looked and looked and cannot find it. Thank you Sir and keep the excellent vids coming!
Can’t believe the developer is allowed to charge for the AM400 it’s not finished. The C17 is far better quality and it’s free - cmon Microsoft this things terrible. This should be freeware and would still consider poor quality. 😮 what a joke.
Just bought this yesterday and wish I had seen your review. Very disappointed, and the model spawns under ground when not starting from a runway. Mostly I desire better sounds. I hope we as a community would reject this quality at this steep price point, as it undermines the value of the actual properly good mods. It's half the price of a really good addon, but I would guess not even ten percent of the work. Also SimMarket has no return policy, and they remove negative reviews. I would not recommend buying from them.
I purchased this a few days ago and flew it once (in VR). In my opinion, the cockpit is terrible in VR. The texture quality and buttons are absolutely horrible to look at. They look like blocks ported from FSX or another previous simulator iteration. Sitting in the cockpit does not feel like a MSFS quality cockpit, especially if you own PMDG 737 or Aerosoft CRJ aircrafts. I was anticipating this aircraft, and I have to say that I am quite disappointed. In fact, some of the buttons don't work the first time they are pressed, until pressed multiple times. I am looking forward to a modder overhauling the basic visual aesthetic of this cockpit to one that I can actually feel pleased while flying. Again, utterly disappointing.
Absolute rubbish product just like every other plane Roland Laborie has made for MSFS. Quite annoyed I made the mistake of buying this crap. You'd have thought by now he would be able to make a decent product but clearly that still isn't the case.
MSFS is just as capable with systems as Fenix/PMDG show, it’s just such a big market, that devs can make products like this and get away it as plenty will still buy it!
@@PilotStudd lol the complaining is just too much, the fact that we have Xplane and MSFS is amazing to begin with. they are both great sims for different reasons, that's it.

I've seen better freeware than this
Thanks for your videos there always the most informational 👏
Glad you like them!
Let's just call it the Captain Sim A400M.

I'll wait for the C160 Transell.
Looks like freeware quality
And not even a good freeware.
I think it looks pretty good Brandon - but not worth 36 Euro thanks for the honest review

Oh one thing, if you see a prop doing that “Rotating off centre”… Get the crew to shut it down, like NOW, or it will fail catastrophically

You can get the PMDG 737-600 for this price! Don't waste your money on this plane.
i love my pmdg 737-600 ❤✈️👍
Exactly
Love the A400 but I'm not this desperate. Guess someone will have a use for it.
Looks like the old Wilco A400M from FSX and FS9 still fun to fly
thanks for the review i don't like what i see , i'll wait
You’re welcome thanks for watching, I don’t recommend it unless you really want an A400!
Hello, since yesterday an update is available with
a correctif for the HUD , VS power management and cruise speed on high altitude
Azul poly is coming out with a military bush cargo plane this or the following week!
Do we know if this is coming to Xbox?
A400 for DCS please 🙏
The a400m is also in use by the belgian air force

this product is now inactive on simarket does anyone have any information about that ?
I keep getting a warning, "PTU Heat". Can you tell me where to find that switch. I have looked and looked and cannot find it. Thank you Sir and keep the excellent vids coming!
Funny because the a400m doesn´t have a ptu 😅
Bit sad Roland got their hands on it first, but good effort anyway! (not really)
I have to take issue when you say you work at a busy airport - Tumbleweed international is far from busy 😂😂
2nd busiest heliport in the UK! Come work here for a day and you’ll see it’s surprisingly busy at times 🥹
the dev forgot to tighten the prop bolt (excuse my unprofessionalism)
🤣🤣🤣
RedFlip switch above the door swivel switch lift the safety catch and flip switch
Cheers!

The modelling looks like it’s a toy.
It feels like they've modeleded it on a C175 lol

looks more like FSX🤔£10 max
Yeah it’s not good is it!

100% agree Gervan, thanks for watching!
Because of quality like this I know I will automatically avoid RL products in the future and wont trust this dev.
2D prop animations. 🤦♂️
🤦🏻♂️
Gorgeous aircraft, terrible physics (especially with full flaps)
Absolute rubbish product just like every other plane Roland Laborie has made for MSFS. Quite annoyed I made the mistake of buying this crap. You'd have thought by now he would be able to make a decent product but clearly that still isn't the case.
All MSFS plane systems suck because MSFS do not have the system power like X-Plane. Oh wow the armrest go up and down 😮 totally worth $40, not.
MSFS is just as capable with systems as Fenix/PMDG show, it’s just such a big market, that devs can make products like this and get away it as plenty will still buy it!
