    Women nowadays seem to love to use this term "TOXIC MASCULINITY" as a means to describe and/or shame anything that men do that they don't like; setting boundaries, calling out bad behavior, not tolerating disrespect from women, etc. This seems to be women's trump card that they use to shame anything done by men they don't, when really it's just the recently trending buzzword. That's why women struggle when being asked to define it.
    Besides why is this a term that needs to be engendered specifically just to men? There IS such a thing as TOXIC FEMININITY, so why not just call it TOXIC BEHAVIOR? Toxic behavior knows no gender IMO

      I disagree. 2 claims:
      1) the embodiment of masculinity is determination,
      2) the embodiment of femininity is tolerance.
      Too much of determination results with tunnel vision. Once that happens, you awareness of the world drops, along with your own actions within it. While too much of tolerance results with nihilism.
      In that sense, the women of today are the ones who are displaying traits of toxic masculinity for they cannot survive on their own by relying solely on their femininity.

      Every job entails a customer paying for some kind of service or product. No one says Amazon is "dependent"--they're clearly the ones winning because we're willing to collectively pay them a lot of money. If all these women have to do is post pictures of themselves online and men are willing to give them their hard-earned money for it, the women are the ones winning in that situation. The ones giving the money to the other are the ones losing.
      Not to say OF doesn't have consequences for these women, just commenting on you calling them "dependent," when really it's opportunistic and these men are dependent, seeing that they're the ones giving their money away. Again, we're all dependent on people buying a product/service, and the customers are dependent as well, as evidenced by their paying for it.

    If you picture a male actor in the role of Galadriel in "The Rings Of Power", you would see all the classic examples of toxic masculinity. Modern female protagonists use the same traits to prove strength and independence but the men in those roles do the opposite. They are likeable, helpful, and believe in "leave no one behind".

  • @laurabenitez1936
    @laurabenitez1936 Рік тому +11

    First question is very interesting, but I have a different take! 🤔
    I’m an avid taoist reader and I like the take they have on masculine and feminine energies. In taoism there exists the concept of opposite but interconnected forces aka the Yin-Yang
    Yang is solar, masculine energy and yin is lunar, feminine energy.
    Yin is receptive, fluid, flexible, malleable, and accepting. It allows us to be relaxed and go with the flow. To open ourselves to the constant change of life. BUT too much yin energy and you become lethargic, unmotivated, and both physically and mentally lazy. You will be overly emotional, sensitive and will find it hard to control your reactions.
    The yang energy is quick, dynamic, hot, dry, and restless. It’s all about direction, determination, setting and achieving goals, and the logical mind. BUT too much yang energy and you will intensely focus in one direction but miss the wider perspective. There may be a great trust in the mind but a lack of trust in the Heart. You will become insensitive, loss contact with your emotional self, and you will lose the ability to express yourself freely.
    In order to achieve balance, you have to cultivate BOTH energies. From my description you can see that women have too much yin and men have too much yang. It’s time for both genders to work on this issue and balance their energies. How to do it is a topic for another day 😂

    • @bluebehir
      @bluebehir Рік тому +5

      Ignoring the last paragraph, I present to you a case that a person doesn't need equal amounts of ying and yang to strike balance, if the *relationship* between two people have that balance.
      But that relationship must truly be symbiotic, for ying to benefit from yang and yang to benefit from ying. It cannot be a one-sided relationship.

    • @trigcat3107
      @trigcat3107 Рік тому +4

      Jewish feminizm isn't about balance sadly, its about POWER. Ying yang is an old concept and doesn't applies to modern relationship dynamics where girls are so combative and men are so emasculated. You need to bring the order first to bring in yin and yang among both
