I’ll always love Eternity. It’s been in my life since the ‘80s because of an aunt of mine that’s worn it since then. I’ve stocked up on the vintage. No other fragrance makes me feel as clean. So much respect for Sophia Grojsman. Your videos always make me smile. 🙂
She had some mega hits. I haven’t smelled white linen in years, but as soon as the picture of the bottle popped up it came right back to me. Same with Trésor. This was a great angle for a video.
Bvlgari Pour Femme is my favorite fragrance! It is so beautiful and without fail people always say I smell great when I wear it. I still have two bottles. Shame it was discontinued. :(.
Aaaahhhhhh Grojsman! I go back to her scents even though the quality of many has gone down. Some are cheapy treats nowadays. The cheap ones I still reach for sometimes are True Love ( Elizabeth Arden) , Vanderbildt, and Volupte (Oscar de la Renta). My favourite Grojsman is Paris and Yvresse has been on my wish list forever. l never got it because in that price range there were always other scents that were more important to me. However Volupte has become its substitute. They share a lot of similarities and I have this huge bottle that will last forever. I wish I had known them all in their original quality!
What a fantastic hommage to Sophia! Paris in EdP concentration is my favourite rose fragrance of all time. It always evokes a picture in my head of a rose garden growing in a cave which is covered in dark green emeralds. Vanderbilt by Gloria Vanderbilt is also a great perfume by Sophia, it's a lot more vivacious in vintage formulations though than in its current version.
I have a vintage bottle of Nude by Bill Blass, which I loved in the 90's and still love. I just got a decant of Paris (probably new formulation). I'm still developing my "relationship" with that fragrance. What you said about 90's perfumes is so true. Sigh...
My mom used to own Jaipur Boucheron 1994 pour femme, and Champagne by YSL, too bad they were discontinued by the time I could buy them for myself. I own Yvresse, but I will never forget Jaipur. Both big hits of Sophia.
Exclamation was a big love for me in my teens, it was a bridge really between Body Shop and cheap body sprays into proper perfumes. Then late teens - early 20s was CK Eternity, oof did I feel special in my CK, I remember how long lasting it was, I used to wake up after a night out stinking of smoke (pre smoking ban) and Eternity, Eternity reminds me of fun nights out and rotten hangovers! Paris is absolutely beautiful and another one I wore when I was much younger, I have the EDP now and still wear it from time to time. Please keep on with this series - I’d love to see Cecile Zarokian here.
I ALWAYS have a big bottle of Paris. Before I really grew into Chanel fragrances, YSL Paris was my signature scent for nearly 30 years. I've worn it daily since I was 15. I love finding people who appreciate it. And you're right, it just doesn't last the way it used to.
I was 16 in 1994 and Exclamation! was my first perfume. I loved it and thinking about buying it to reminisce. I recently saw it on the website I buy a few perfumes from and now seeing it here in your video seems like it is meant to be. Love your videos. Love to you from me here in the U.S.!!! ❤
I watched this video yesterday & just found Exclamation today at tjmaxx for $7.99 us. I couldn’t resist such a highly recommended cheapie! I like it, its a very cozy scent. They don’t make bottles like this anymore 😀 I’ll have to try YSL Paris again, its been eons since Ive smelled it but remember liking it back then. Love this favorite perfumer/nose series you’re doing.
Great reviews. I've got white linen and love it, however can turn a bit pissy on me. Love Diamonds and rubies heavy fruity floral lasts forever on me..gorgeous. Tresor was lovely but always turned too sweet on me. Paris I really wanted to like but it was parma violet sweeties for me.
Geezalouie! Love learning about her! 80’s kid, so of course she colored my memories with her iconic scents... most all of these mentioned were ubiquitous in my world! Thank you for teaching me, friend🥰!Big love from Texas😘
Great review of some of Grojsman's iconic fragrances! I am sorry to say I must not be a Grojsman fan, though. White Linen made me physically ill back in the 80s, and in the last few years I tried Diamonds and Rubies and found it not at all to my taste. More recently, I purchased Tresor. I had very high expectations for Tresor, but I was extremely disappointed in it. I never knew the original Tresor, though. Perhaps the current Tresor is simply another victim of reformulation. In any case, I personally would not recommend the current formulation to anyone. For florals, I love Francis Kurkdjian's work. His love affair with orange blossom only helped deepen my own love affair with it. He is also brilliant with honey and rose as notes, and his work for Elie Saab is wonderful. Sorry, I do not mean to steal Grosjman's thunder here! I am just sharing my opinion on Kurkdjian's work with florals. :)
I loved Exclamation whe I was a young girl. I was 11 or 12 when I discovered it. The locker room in my junior high must have reeked of it since so many of us wore it.
I remember seeing Exclamation everywhere as a kid. I picked up a bottle in the past year for $8 because of the nostalgia. I have so many Elizabeth Taylor perfumes, she's my favorite old-school actress ❤️. I want to try Paris, Sun Moon Stars, Tresor (that's been on my list a few months) and Yvresse now!
Yes Sophia is my favorite!! I think my all time fave of hers is Diamonds & Rubies by Elizabeth Taylor believe it or not it's a cheapie but a masterpiece
Sophia is the queen of rose perfumes for me. She managed to combine rose with such a vast array of different ingredients, and yet each perfume she made has such a distinct personality (PS: don't you find Yveresse smells similar to Etat libre d'Orange's Vraie Blonde?). Could you do Annick Menardo next please?
Her fragrances are so pretty and comforting. Just straight up pleasant, nothing offensive. Her best in my opinion is Bvlgari Pour Femme, such a shame it’s so hard to get anymore.
Unfortunately, Sun Moon and Stars has been discontinued. I am SO happy that you finally mentioned this perfume. I am 30 years old and my mum wore this in the nineties in Brazil and to me it's just the cleanest smell ever and it makes me feel good and positive. I can't explain haha. I don't understand how this perfume is so underrated. But yeah, it's discontinued so we still can find it online but for very HIGH prices, still a struggle though, because you can only find at stores you've never heard of or in Amazon or Ebay for a lot $$$. I trust your opinion very much and I might just buy CK Eternity today so I can go back to the 90's. Ps: I live in the Netherlands and I still have a small bottle I bought here last year and it was 60 euros for 30ml. INSANE.
White Linen was one my signatures back in the day. I went through several bottles before I burnt out. I currently have a mini of the original which I hoard. I also own a vintage bottle of Champagne. My mother wore Tresor back then. Loved this review! Thank you Tom!
Love these videos! I recently bought a perfume by Grojsman that I'd never heard of - Bill Blass Nude. It's such a beautiful nod to this golden era of perfumery. Amazing!x
I love this list Tom and you're so right Yvresse is the best of the bunch my friend used to wear it and she smelled divine! I have a vintage bottle of Paris & white linen from the late 90s my mum also wore Trevor & she smelled amazing it did nothing on my skin the only ones I've never sampled are exclamation moon & stars & the Elizabeth Taylor one My local perfumery sells Yvresse but its the reformulated version pales in comparison to the vintage version Love these videos keep them coming!
My absolute favourite from Sophia is Estee Lauder’s Spellbound. (vintage version!) Absolutely stunning. ♥️♥️♥️ Also love Paris 💖 , Champagne/Yvresse 💛 and Tresor!! 🧡 (Vintage versions)
What an incredibly talented perfumer. My first perfume was by her (Exclamation). I lamented that my best friend in high school wore Tresor because it wore really well on me. I've recently discovered Sun Moon Stars and I'm looking forward to trying other creations by her.
Omg! Exclamation! was my very first perfume! Used to spritz myself before slow dancing to Boyz II Men or Whitney Houston! I recently bought it just for the nostalgia- nice but so so weak! Incidentally , I’ve blind bought Diamonds and Rubies and it’s being delivered tomorrow! Can’t wait ! Also ordered no less than 9 Elizabeth Taylor perfumes this week ( all blind buys), diamonds and Emeralds , diamonds and sapphires, white diamonds, violet eyes, white diamonds by Night, sparkling white diamonds , brilliant white diamonds and more!
@@celinahatton2653 Hi! Well, my favourite is still the original White Diamonds by far! I didn't like Diamonds and Rubies at all, but forced myself to use it up. The others were ok, but rather poor lasting power compared to the OG, so I have stuck to buying bottles of the Original White Diamonds. I found the others to be just ok and like body sprays, to be honest.
YSL Paris is the fragrance that started my perfume obsession (well, if you don't count the Chanel no 5 and Arpege my mother used to wear). It was the first perfume i remember really wanting for myself ( i think I was 13?) and when i finally got to smell it, it was every bit as stunning as i thought it would be. haven't worn it regularly for years (its such a powerhouse) but i still have an EDP that i bought around 2007-2008 that is absolutely gorgeous and lasts forever on skin and clothing. it's so BIG i have to be in the right mood for it. more wearable are the Premieres Roses versions that they used to do-I have one from 2011 that is lovely and perfect for springtime.
I have 8 out of 9 OMG, love this perfumes especially Eternity , Paris and Sun Moon Stars Eternity Paris Tresor Sun Moon Stars Exclamation White Linen Diamonds & Rubies Yvresse
Wow 😮 I never knew any of this stuff, thank-you you for making this video I had Champagne back in the day 🤩💖 I watched another video saying a "modern lighter take" on Champagne 🍾 is Roja Parfams Elxir Pour Femme?
Bulgari Pour Femme This perfume had been my absolute favorite. Even when I was 20 years old in 1998…something like that…I would save up to buy it. It was so hard to find back then. I’ve been dreaming about it lately. 🎉🎉🎉🎉 I remembered the name 🎉🎉🎉 I ordered a teeny one today from eBay…let’s see what actually arrives ❤
I got a new bottle of Eternity recently but I'm afraid I didn't care for it at all. I'd love to have the chance to try the vintage version, though, since I imagine it's been very reformulated.
I really enjoyed this video! And yes, I am an fan of her work without even knowing it, I had/have/know about almost all the fragrances you mentioned. What strikes me is that I instantly had the scent in my head when you showed the perfumes, they all really have their specific identity. Something that I miss in newer perfumes, they all smell very much alike. Is this only my nose or do you feel the same? P.S. I’d love more videos on perfumers like this!
I once had a barber who bathed in Yvresse to the point that it made me sick 🤣🤣🤣 but apart from that, this was an interesting video. Thanks 👍😀. Had no idea she made all of these fragrances!!!!
I didn’t know she did Paris too!!! That’s still a love for me. I need a bottle! I’ve never smelled Yvresse. I’d love to find it. Thanks for the interesting content.😍
I love and still have Yvresse. I also had a few bottles you mentioned here and recognized the smell of some even though I never owned them. After your video I Googled her name and realized that she also created Beautiful for Estee Lauder, another iconic creation! Thanks for making this video!
What a lovely video paying homage to a great purfumeur. You've inspired me to attempt a video on perfumeurs.i used to love Tresor and Paris so many memories when I was in France. Maybe I need to revisit Paris Thank you. 😊 I hope you went and called your mother afterwards😀
The only thing I remember about exclamation from the late 80s/early 90s was how offensive it was 🤣 sharp and terrible to my nose then! And it was always gifted to us girls for Christmas and birthdays by relatives who didn’t know us! I wonder what my 38yo nose would make of it now!
90s teens! Yes! I *just* re-bought all my childhood bottles. It’s SO fun. Exclamation is still good imo! It’s beautiful yet fun, but without that modern fruitiness. There is fruit, but it’s not main stage and is blended really well, imo. Now that I own a new bottle and confirmed it still has something magical to me, I’m going to buy backups. And I’ve never bought a backup!
Thank you for this video! I love the works of Sophia Grojsman. I'd like to pitch in a word of warning about Sun Moon & Stars perfume that recently appeared on eBay for very low prices, low as in around $50. The box looks the same, so is the bottle. The seller will claim that a new manufacturer has rights to production of SMS now and the name is listed as United Colors. Guys, don't buy it! I did a mistake of buying one bottle like this, stumbling upon it on eBay while half-asleep, without realizing it's not the authentic Karl Lagerfeld perfume. There was a description of the item "Relaunch". Do not believe it! Let me tell you, the perfume smells of alcohol in the beginning, and then mere resemblance of authentic masterpiece that the SMS is, and even that faint smell disappears very soon. The box, bottle and all of it looks and feels also very bad. Still trying to get my refund, actually.
Wrong thread I know but do you layer different houses? I tried bpal snake oil with some stuff and it's really nice with kerbside violet from gorilla / lush
oh my gosh Exclamation! I didn't realize she was the nose behind it. I saved my pennies from my job at the corner store to buy it when I was 15ish. I'm going to have to get my nose on it again just for the trip down memory lane.
I love Exclamation. It's so vintage without being too serious.
Cannot BELIEVE how big of a Grojsman fan I was when I was younger! Calyx! Eternity! Trésor! Paris! What a profoundly sublime portfolio she has!
I'd love this to become a regular thing featuring more perfumers 🥰
Same. Tom does an outstanding job of it.
Me three!!
I used to love Sun Moon Stars, and also Volupte. She is the queen!
I used to wear Calyx back in the day. Such a happy uplifting scent.
Same here, loved it when it was Calyx by Prescriptives. It reappeared briefly under Clinique but it disappeared again. Wish they’d bring it back.
90's Fragrances were the best. Angel and Eden I wore for days 😀
She's one of the "nez" along with Ropion and Roucel I can blind buy and be sure to be in love.
Agreed. I'll add Steven Mercado, Jean Claude Elena and Rodrigues Flores Roux to that list too.
Looove Exclamation - grabbed it again after (cough) decades- and it still holds up. Nice bedtime scent or running to the store sitch
I’ll always love Eternity. It’s been in my life since the ‘80s because of an aunt of mine that’s worn it since then. I’ve stocked up on the vintage. No other fragrance makes me feel as clean. So much respect for Sophia Grojsman. Your videos always make me smile. 🙂

Really nicely done - not that one would forget about her creations but its so cool to see them again presented like that. Thx mate
I agree, the Bulgari pour Femme is EXCELLENT!!!
I wore Bvlgari Femme, Yvresse, Trésor, Kashâya from Kenzo, and one of my go-to scents for 2 years now is Vanderbilt. So yes, hurray for Sophia ❤️.
Bvlgari Pour Femme is my favorite fragrance! It is so beautiful and without fail people always say I smell great when I wear it. I still have two bottles. Shame it was discontinued. :(.
You are so hilarious in the best and most positive way possible! Love you, hope you're well 😘💖 xoxo

I still have a bottle of Champagne/ now named Yvresse. Couldn't agree more with it being the most outstanding, the best. Thank you for the video.
Wow! I just realized how many bottles I have/had. From your list, I still have four. They are definitely amazing.

What a fascinating episode! My mother also wore White Linen, but I had no idea who made it. Thank you. :)
Thanks for the unique videos, as always, Tom 😍

Holy cannoli I literally own every single one on the list. I guess I’m a Sophia fan and didn’t even know it! 🥰
Wrong thread I know but do you layer different houses? I tried bpal snake oil with some stuff and it's really nice with kerbside violet from gorilla / lush
You are amazing
oh my gosh Exclamation! I didn't realize she was the nose behind it. I saved my pennies from my job at the corner store to buy it when I was 15ish. I'm going to have to get my nose on it again just for the trip down memory lane.
🧡💜❤️ I can’t tolerate White Linen. YSL Paris can’t stand it. Had both. ❤️💜🧡
I’m sat by my letterbox waiting for my 2ml Faun to land on the floor. 🥳
But what about CK ETERNITY! The one carnation to rule them all (imo 😊)
I like White linen
My absolute favorite nose, love that you did this.💕
