Hundreds of years ago in Lapland, Finland, a little boy named Nikolas loses his family in an accident. The villagers decide to look after the orphaned boy together. Once a year - at Christmas - Nikolas moves to a new home. To show his gratitude, Nikolas decides to make toys for the children of the families as good-bye presents. Over the years, Nikolas's former adoptive families become many, and soon almost every house has presents on its doorstep on Christmas morning. At thirteen, Nikolas is sent to live and work with Iisakki, a grumpy old carpenter, who forbids Nikolas to continue making presents for Christmas. Gradually, however, Nikolas wins Iisakki's trust. Together they begin to look after the Christmas traditional that Nikolas has begun. When the aged Iisakki has to leave Nikolas and move away, the tradition of Christmas presents is once again at risk. Thankfully, Nikolas comes up with a solution that brings children joy every Christmas, even continuing to today. - Фільми й анімація

I just watched this in German on Amazon Prime. I found the part of him bring a gift to the spot on the ice where his sister fell in to be so sad. Vacker film! (I'm American - Swedish is also national language of Finland)
I have questions!!! How accurately is this movie translated? I like the movie but from the very first "village gathering" scene the dialogue seems disjointed. The blonde woman initially sounds like she's saying they can't take him in in the English version but then she and her husband agree they can be the first to take him. It also seems the townspeople would've been more apologetic when Isaac was taking him when he comes in and threatens to make Nicholas walk if he doesn't hurry. I'd like to know if anyone has watched both the original Finnish language film and compared it to the English dubbed version???
@@IDontSuckAtLifeakaJanis3975 That's a good question but I don't know. I can't compare. I watched it in German. I know German as a second language and I think it's pretty good. But there are little things here and there that I sometimes miss. A word I don't know or haven't heard in a long time. I don't know any Finnish and my Swedish is very little.

tamvonvol2711 You can get the English version on DVD from either Amazon or Barns and Noble. The Blue ray is still in finish.

It was not the end,but the beginning of this story.What happened to him later? Here is the rest of the story:
He began to travel and distribute gifts to children not only in Lapand,but also all over the world.All the children loved and adored him,and his fame and legend grew.But at the years went by,the children got bored with the gifts he prepared.In addition,there were so many of them,and many of them lived,
so far away,that the could not not keep up with the manufacture delivery of gifts,and his sleigh despite flying,was too słów due to a small group to reindeer,thus he could not deliver gifts to the children on time.Bevause of this,the children began to lose faith in him,and he began to feel lonely.His immortality also came at a price.When he met Ada again,she was already a grandmother,and she had her own grandchildren.A few years later,Ada died of old age.She was buried next to her father's grave. Was at her funreal Her death made him very sad,he felt
lonely.Due to depression,he began to lose all his power. Everything seemed lost.And that's when the unexpected help came.Ome day he met a group of genuine elves.They were cold, hungry and without shelter.He took them to himself,took care of them,fed them and gave them a drink.He treated them like his own children.At first distrustful of their new host,over time,the elves gained cinfidence in him,they loved him like a father. In thanks for his kidness,they decided to live with him and become his helpes.They moved to the South Pole.They built a house in
which they set up a workshop for making toys.They also set up
a confectionery factory theme.They rebuilt Santa's sleigh,enlarged it red and decorated it with bells.His hat was also decorated with a white pompon.Thanks to their help,Santa no longer had to work alone. More elves eppeared there over time,who built their own cottages,until finally a beautiful christmas village was built.But Santa still did not know what gifts the children want.Then the children began writing his first christmas letters to him,in which they wrote that they want.There was still the problem of reindeer.There were still not enough of them,the rebuilt giant sleigh, laden with presents,pulled by only four reindeer,flew even slower.Fortunately,this problem could also be solved.Four more new reindeer have joined the team,later they were joined by Rudolf,the red-nosed reindeer.Santa could now fly at comet speed,and fly very quickly to any place on earth,so he always
arrived on time.They children regained their faith in him,so he regained his magical power Instead of leaving gifts at the door,he began to leave them under the christmas tree.Some time later he met a lonely old woman,in which he fell in love with reciprocity.She agreed to become his wife and they got married.

joskus tuli ostettua tuon soundtrack, niin aattelin tehä pätkän... yllätyin kyllä ittekin, kun wmm:llä sain sohastua kokoon ihan tyydyttävän tekeleen :).
