can I play a property wild card by itself and charge rent on it without adding any other properties to the set? Say I play a property wild card and say it's acting as a blue property and charge rent for that one. Is that something I can do?
If it is a double property wild card like a Blue-Green one, then yes. If it is a multicolored one, my opinion would be no since it is just by itself, but I think you could play it either way. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any follow up questions!
I can't understand the just say no card
I find it so weird not to have the money count at the end!
One of my favorite Monopoly Deal wins was only possible by using a ‘Just Say No’ card after the player right before me played ‘It’s My Birthday!’ as their third card.
I had the exact properties left to complete the sets next turn without any extras to spare and a measly 1 Million in my bank. 😅
Haha That is amazing!!! Aren't the Just Say No cards amazing!! It feels so good to have the security of having one in your hand!! Thanks for sharing! I love this game and hearing stories like this is awesome!!
In looking up what this game is I find it hysterical that there are counterspells in this game.
What if a player play 2 pass go cards
You have two different boxes of Momopoly Deal. (GREEN & BLUE)Is there a difference in the game or just different box graphics?
Just different graphics! There are no different rules. Let me know if you have any other questions! Happy Thanksgiving!
What happens if At the very start of the game the first person playing has a birthday card and wants his money.? It has not been my turn yet to draw cards so I have no money to streets!
Hi Andrea! So if the It’s My Birthday is played and no one has money to pay it, that player gets nothing.
At any point in the game if you can’t pay, nothing happens, you just keep playing. No one goes into debt or gets out of the game.
I hope that helps, let me know if you have any additional questions.
@@BrimleyGames Thanks so much! I do have another couple of questions! Do you hold the action cards or do you put them on the table like you do the money? Also, can you play the Action cards you are holding or do they need to be on the table? If I have the 10 million card and I owe 5 million if the other player has enough change does he need to give me the change? On my turn I use the GO card as my third play. Can I play pay these cards or do I have to wait for my next turn since I already played three cards?
3:00 when you pick up five cards at the start of the next turn, do you get to draw an additional two cards? For a total of 7?
Hi Alex, so if you don't have any cards at the start of your turn, you draw 5 cards instead of the 2 cards. So it is a total of 5 cards that you draw. Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions! Hope you have a great day!
just info M in the game means MONOPOLY currency Money
1M= 1 Monopoly Money not 1 Million... and so on
If I stole someone's card then I play 2 turns and win after that 2 turns can the player put just say no?
Hey Afreen Sultana! Thanks for asking this!
-My answer would be no. They need to use the just say no in the moment and not way later.
-However, you have to make sure you aren't playing too fast, so they don't have time to think about using it. (Like play a Sly deal, take this, play these two cards from my hand all within 3 seconds before they have a chance to decide if they want to use the "just say no" card.) If you are playing too fast, you will then have them say things like "I was going to play it, you just didn't give me enough time. etc.."
-But, if you gave them adequate time, and they didn't play the Just Say No card, and then found out you won because they didn't play the "Just Say No" two turns earlier, I would say they wouldn't be able to use it then.
Hope this was helpful!! Thanks again for asking. Let me know if you have any other questions!
@@BrimleyGames thanks it helps me a lot
Awesome!! Glad to help!!
@Afreen Sultana, Would it be alright if I used your comment in a future video to answer this question? Let me know! Thanks,
Hey! Whats the verdict.... can a “just say no” card be played against a player who has played a “pass go” action card?
Hey Renee Fergs! Thanks for being here!
-The official rules state: "Play any time to cancel the effect of an action card played against you."
-Since the Pass Go is not "against you" (Meaning they don't take something from you or make you pay, etc...) you would not be able to use the Just Say No against that card.
Hope this answers your question! Let me know if you have any others!!
When it comes to the sixth tip, with the way I play with my parents, we treat Rent and Double the Rent as entirely separate actions, so although Double the Rent requires you to play a rent card, it just applies the effect of the rent card again.
Brimley Games, if you’re wondering, if a Rent card with a Double the Rent card is played and the opponent plays a Just Say No, it only cancels the Double the Rent and they would still have to pay the original rent unless they have another Just Say No.
I was playing monopoly deal with my family and then someone played a just say no to a happy birthday. I assumed that it meant canceling the card for everyone, whereas they thought that it meant canceling the effects against that player. I want to understand your thinking and why you think it means the effect.
Can a Just Say No be played after a deal breaker move has been complete?
Example: Player A uses a deal breaker to take a set.
Player B is holding a Just Say No, but decides not to use it at the moment their set is taken. But instead draws their cards and then decides to use his Just Say No against Player A.
Since a move (drawing cards) has been completed before Player B played their Just Say No, wouldn't that suggest that ample time was given to use the JSN card? Or can they use it, after a draw to cancel the previous action?
In other words, if given the opportunity to use a JSN does a player have to use it to cancel an action against them, or can they just wait a round, draw cards then use it after the fact?
Best regards,
Eric
Hi Eric, fantastic question. I think you should give enough time to use the Just Say No, but in this scenario, if the person elects to draw the cards and start their turn, I would say that it would be too late to go back and play the Just Say No.
I am a big proponent of giving people the chance when they forget to do something, because I want that for me when I do that, but in this scenario, they definitely had enough time / also have extra information from the cards they drew. I think it would be unfair to the other player to go back that far.
So, yes, if you were to draw cards for your turn, I think you had enough time to decide whether or not to use the just say no and by drawing are saying that you chose not to play it. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions. Hope you have a great day!
is just say no counted as a move?
Smooth! I think because Just say No cancels Money collecting cards where you’re also a target, it cancels their effect on others.
That's cool! I think it can definitely be read that way! (I really don't like vague rulebooks! haha) I think with this game, you can do whatever you want with those types of rules, as long as you are consistent! Is Monopoly Deal one of your favorite games? Or is there another one you enjoy more? Hope you have a great day!
Can we play this game alone?
What if a player play 2 pass go cards
What if a player play 2 pass go cards
What if a player play 2 pass go cards
Wouldn't putting the money face down be better? It's gives the action cards away, no?
So, the rules don't specifically say either way. I have heard that a lot of people hide their money under the top money card, but we play that you have to show it which helps you decide who to go after! Also, in the instructions it has a picture and it shows the money spread out. It may be just for show and not for practical gameplay, but that is how we play it!
I hope this helps! I have found that with Monopoly Deal, there are a lot of rules that you just have to decide on as a group as the instructions don't talk specifically about them.
What if someone lays down a dealbreaker and completes their third property to win the game? Can you still put down your just say no if the game is technically over or is it not technically over?
I would say you can put down a just say no and stop them from winning. You can use it to cancel any action card played against you and that still follows the rules of using a just say no, so I think it would be allowed!
What do you think?
Shouldn't we count , "just say no" for the main 3 steps ?
What if I threw a deal breaker on my first card and my opponent realizes he has a just say no after I played my next card?
Hey Aiyman! I definitely think it depends. I don't think they should be able to play a just say no retrospectively, however you should give them time to process it before playing the next card. If you play both cards super fast right in a row and they don't have time to process the first card before the second card is played, I think that would not be okay.
Hope this helps!!
I have never played more than three cards in one turn. The rules clearly state that you can only play three cards. Not more if one is NO. Three is three.
How are the wild card moved? As one of the 3 turns? Or you can use wild to collect more money they move it at the end?
Hey Leviswifi! So the wild cards can be moved at any time during your turn and it does not count as one of the three moves. Therefore, you could move it around to collect more money during your turn! Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions!
@@BrimleyGames can the multi colored wild be moved freely just like the double sided wilds?
Yep! As far as I understand it, all wilds can be moved around freely!
Thanks for sharing! This really helps.
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Oh you have monopoly 2008
Can you double the rent + double the rent maximum rent 60M???
Yes
Good tips
Hey Paul! Thank you so much!
