Tbh, I actually stay for the comedy when I was reading the manga. Then BOOM! This arc comes in. And I was shocked to see they actually become serious. I mean, the manga got no filler eps so yeah the serious arc is just near with each other.
Gintoki keeps changing weapons while Zura keeps switching swords. Not to mention they laughing (only Zura) and Chatting with each other. This was better than any other shounen/action fight. Nothing to flashy nor they made cringey by adding power of friendship or something else like that. Any other shounen protagonist would've tried to change Takasugi even if they die for no reason at all. While Zura and Gin only try to convince Takasugi once but then steel their resolve to kill him the next time they meet. This is way beyond satisfaction
Well Gintoki is more like a seinen protagonist he just wants to keep his inner kid self but he's a matured adult who gives a lot of teachings about life in many episodes
Katsura is an excellent swordsman, but Gintoki is more than just that. His fighting style is just beautiful, almost like a dance as he slices through the enemies using all different kinds of weapons.
I think the real strength of Gintama is that the characters all feel like family, or should I say, the manner in which they are crafted makes them feel familial. Beautiful stuff.
I watched the anime version first, then later in the anime they announce the movie, then i watched the movie. So i saw that arc twice but it was worthy, to get the differences and the improvement. And the soundtrack, wich is amazing, both Bakuchi Dancer and Bokutachi wo Kisetsu.
instead of watching episode 58-61, i suggest watching the movie for anyone reading this comment chain. it's basically the same but with better animation.
The guy fought Takasugi to death and they both beat each other up. Yet Gintoki after a few feeks fights another war with the Yatagarasu rescuing Katsura, Kondo, and Matsudaira. Takasugi had to be hospitalized after their bloody fight. This shows that Gintoki is a really tough guy.
@@syafiq7026 not really, they both joined the war. Gintoki is stronger because of his experience prior to the war. He was already slaying people to survive.
i love how there are moments where both gintoki and katsura perform the same actions like a mirror, highlighting that they were both taught by the same person and they started in the same place, but then they have moments where they are wildly different, gintoki is constantly adapting and changing his fighting style whereas katsura is keeping the same fighting style and weapon. it really fits in with the movies theme of them all starting in the same place yet changing into completely unique people
Abhishek Bisht shhhhhhh dont spoil them!!! and also Zuras fight was all more enjoyable... i know utsro and umibozu are savages but seeing Zura go savage for the first time is just epic!! it was extremly well drawn too
On 2:21 I can't help but always look at the big guy in the middle: first he's like 'OHH YEAH, LET'S DO THIS', then a second later he is 'nah, I'm not going anywhere'
They're so in sync with their movement, shows their long history. Gintoki was shown to fight in sync with many characters over the course of the series, but I think he had the most telepathic type of movement connection with Zura. It's also so cool how their different fighting styles showed. Both strong in their own right, Katsura fights so clean and refined, while Gin is a true freestyling monster.
Just a reminder: Gintoki's fighting an army of Amanto right after a winning a grueling fight with Nizou who had be possessed by a an alien sword. He's literally fighting wounded and he's keeping up with Zura, I mean Katsura. He got the nickname of "The White Yaksha" for a reason.
Wow I completely forgot about this fight scene it has been so long. I honestly think is one of the best anime fights I have ever seen. The chemistry of Katsura and Gintoki works so well, and the foreshadowing is amazing to what happens later in S.A arc. Very well done choreography, and the music in the background fit so well. Amazing!
I was sold when Gintoki swapped that sword at the beginning. I had to watch it 3 times before finally paying attention Zura living up to his title 'The Noble Rampager'. Good on both of them, but Gintoki is basically hip-hop dancing in this fight.
I just watched Gintama The Final today, I have finally finished all of Gintama and I cant lie, this is one of the best series ever. Gintama is the definition of perfect, awesome characters, awesome fight scenes, hilarious, in the serious arcs its plot is very good. this is my second fav anime. Gintama was a very good anime
one of my favorite things about gintama is that there are no special weapons. the characters themselves are entirely powerful, so it doesn't matter what they wield. the true master doesn't blame their tools.....
I like to think that the "Lupin janai, Zura da" sentence is on purpose because Katsura almost became Zura like in the Zura mode when Zura vs Shokaku in the Rakuyo battle arc but Katsura choose to run away in this fight.
I love how Gintoki tempts straw hat in to a cross guard then kicks the daggers out of their hands.. it's soo easy to forget that Gintoki is the master.
Normally I'd be annoyed at fights with many enemies when all the enemies stop attacking, but this scene only does it at the very end after Gintoki killed their leader so it makes sense they stopped attacking because they were probably discouraged. Also, the fighting choreography is sooo good here!
In any war troops morale plays important aspect to keep soldiers fighting, just look at Battle of Yarmouk when measly 40k arab troops eliminated 150k strong byzantine legionnaires in an open field
man gintoki's such a badass, during this fight he used different weapons and styles. sword, dagger, spear, dual wielding sword and then back to one hand sword XD
will never get tired of rewatching this, especially the last duel with that feint at 3:40 to make him raise his guard to then kick his knives away its just perfect. :)
I was there from beginning to the end, every single episode, every single filler, every single parody arc, best decision I’ve ever made in my whole life
"the world doesnt always turn out the way we want, changing a friends mind is tough let alone the world" man thats a deep especially coming from this series
just noticed this awesome "foreshadow" if you can call it, Katsura says "Zura da" because he is in Zura mode, he isn't running he is fighting recklessly.
Every time I watch this I have to watch it at least twice. Once for the music and once for the animation otherwise I keep getting distracted by one of them ending up going back and forth between them. This is just a brilliantly put together scene.
the moment I realized that 3:40 gintoki pretended to attack from upwards to make the enemy crossed his daggers to defend and that allowed gintoki to kick his daggers off and unarm the enemy. GINTOKI IS SO COOOOOOL😭💖✨
Favourite song in gintama, one of the most epic battles in gintama, one of my favourite quote in gintama and 2 of my favourite characters in gintama. Best scene ever (but not the best film lol)
Ok so *Gintoki* has a katana for like 5 seconds.. goes off screen for 2, shows up with a dagger in his mouth, Zura screentime, Gintoki slices someones neck with the dagger, grabs the enemy's goddamn spear then proceeds to kick some ass, knocks someones weapon out of their hand and oh look, a KATANA, and then we got that cool 2:45 scene where he knocks em' WITHOUT USING HIS FRIGGING' HANDS AND THEN KILLS THEM WHILE STILL AIRBORNE, does a cool flip and lands RIGHT UP close to the camera (yes) then continues to slice ppl and be the amazing character he is
bansai at the beginning listening to otsu-chan lmao. takasugi’s right hand man is a pop idol’s producer. that’s why gintama is so great, it can’t take itself seriously (for long)
This scene is kind of throwback of that moment though. Both of them fight Amanto that captured them in the middle and they have to fight off every single of them and they proceed to escape in the forest during their Jouishishi days. Now they both fighting again to keep the others safe from the ship and they also escape but in much smarter way thanks to Zura lmao
The thing I like the most is that in most episodes.... gintoki and katsura act like complete doofus...katsura rapping and all...that when the actually fight you're genuinely awestruck #foreveryorozuya
I love this. It may be my very favorite scene out of Gintama, because it encompasses EVERYTHING that the story of Gintama is about. Also, Gin and Katsura's fighting styles, contradictory yet completely compatible with each other, each filling in the other's spaces.
@3:07 - I love this moment. If this were just about any other Shonen anime, this ogre looking bastard would have taken at least 3 episodes to finish off, but here Katsura just uses his skills honed on the battlefield to put him down in a matter of seconds.
Rewatching back Gintama I noticed the 3 strongest Armando clan was mentioned several times : Dakini, Shinra, and Yato Clan. Even Gintoki have hard time fighting them
it's a nice little detail how they both have their own fighting style. gintoki fights like a beast while katsura fights like a proper noble samurai
Luck Nut well you can think that he got his nickname Demon from his beastly fighting style.
Katsura is called the Noble Rampager.
Elegance with savage nice combo
"Katsura" fights more calmly, but "Zura" is a beast xD it could be said that even more than Gintoki and Takasugi
But didn’t they both learn under shoyo, or did they already have some basic style and shoyo improved them individually.
In 5 minutes Gintoki killed more people than most shonen protagonists combined
Lol true
That due to most of them having morals against killing. Gin just dose what he needs to XD
But I think Gintokis kill count is still near the one from Guts. Also Guts killed 100 men in a single fight.
Except for kenshin.
Gintoki also fought in a war before.
Imagine the kill count
You know it gets real when Gintoki picks up a real sword.

I can't be the only one obsessed with the way Katsura moves when he says Takasugi at 0:09 right? It's so smooth, high quality and he's so pretty
Excellent quality and no border with eng subs 10/10
Love the way how Elizabeth picked up Shinpachi and Kagura and ran away.
That's right Aru!
I mean both of them are beautiful in their own way, but I really love gintoki fighting style
With that speed, you could say he's a... Bakuchi Dancer...
Now this is what happens when you piss off two Joi War Veterans!
I think the real strength of Gintama is that the characters all feel like family, or should I say, the manner in which they are crafted makes them feel familial. Beautiful stuff.
This is why you should watch the movie. FOR THIS MOMENT!!!!! This is when I became a fan of Katsura!!!
8440k Is watching the movie was that important? i've watched the benizakura arc, so maybe it would be the same?
I watched the anime version first, then later in the anime they announce the movie, then i watched the movie. So i saw that arc twice but it was worthy, to get the differences and the improvement. And the soundtrack, wich is amazing, both Bakuchi Dancer and Bokutachi wo Kisetsu.
I bought the movie, but I personally prefer the arc. There's barely any difference between the 2, but I prefer the soundtrack from the arc.
instead of watching episode 58-61, i suggest watching the movie for anyone reading this comment chain. it's basically the same but with better animation.
8440k well I guess from episode 5 he became my favorite
Even while in a half-dead state, Gin is still tougher than all those Amanto. Granted, they were fodder, but still :v
@@poloy7051 takasugi got stabbed tho after the battle with gintoki and before the battle with oboro
@@dannyg4835 Gintoki was beaten up by the Yato before their fight.
@@poloy7051 Joui War experience gave him deadly skills and higher endurance on surviving, that's what make him strong as heck
@@syafiq7026 not really, they both joined the war. Gintoki is stronger because of his experience prior to the war. He was already slaying people to survive.
i love how there are moments where both gintoki and katsura perform the same actions like a mirror, highlighting that they were both taught by the same person and they started in the same place, but then they have moments where they are wildly different, gintoki is constantly adapting and changing his fighting style whereas katsura is keeping the same fighting style and weapon. it really fits in with the movies theme of them all starting in the same place yet changing into completely unique people
I think this must be one of the best fight scenes.
I don't mean in Gintama. Just. in general.
don't worry, we're getting a new season of gintama. I read the manga, and I can tell you there are even better fights to come :)
YES PREACH MAN
BRO ZURAS FIGHT IS HYYYYYPPPPPEEEE!!!!!!
one of the epic fight will be.. umibozu vs utsuro 👌👌
Abhishek Bisht shhhhhhh dont spoil them!!! and also Zuras fight was all more enjoyable... i know utsro and umibozu are savages but seeing Zura go savage for the first time is just epic!! it was extremly well drawn too
I love how gintoki and katsura interact with each other :D
Bansai looking a lvl 100 boss here but then gets rekt by gintoki by his own guitar strings😂
Bansai is kinda like Sougo.
@@supersbbrawl4ever hmm, bansai ain't sadistic
@@eduardosevilla9448 As in both are basically blood knights, they love to fight powerful opponents. Bansai's just more discreet about it.
And, end up become his boss’ friends fans. “Are these men that fought with you, Shinsuke?”
katsura is so cool in this movie
On 2:21 I can't help but always look at the big guy in the middle: first he's like 'OHH YEAH, LET'S DO THIS', then a second later he is 'nah, I'm not going anywhere'
LOOOL Now I am going to look at him every time I watch this scene !!!!
this is so funny xDDD
*watches first 18 seconds, thinks of Hata, laughs*
I can't take his scenes seriously anymore after watching the baka ouji dubs
Just Some Guy with a Mustache i thought of DIO
You are seriously omnipotent
lol i know what you meant, awesome dub from baka ouji
They're so in sync with their movement, shows their long history. Gintoki was shown to fight in sync with many characters over the course of the series, but I think he had the most telepathic type of movement connection with Zura.
It's also so cool how their different fighting styles showed. Both strong in their own right, Katsura fights so clean and refined, while Gin is a true freestyling monster.
I love this scene because it shows not only that they fought in a war and are used to fighting like this but also that they fought together.
It would be epic if Sakamoto was here too
yeah just to get sick on the ship
Shame he can't use a sword anymore
He is the guy who uses the pistol correct?
nexuscreeper productions yep
Hahahahaha
Just a reminder: Gintoki's fighting an army of Amanto right after a winning a grueling fight with Nizou who had be possessed by a an alien sword. He's literally fighting wounded and he's keeping up with Zura, I mean Katsura. He got the nickname of "The White Yaksha" for a reason.
The fact that he keeps getting back up after getting his shit beat out of him probably freaked kamui out when they fought
2:27 we just gonna ignore gintoki casually catching a shortsword in his mouth and destroying someone with it? holy shit
I never noticed this XD and I've seen this in slow motion before... just wow...
Gintoki: Zura, when did you start getting friends? You're imagining things!
*I felt that*
In 5 minutes gintoki and katsura gave a fight more badass than any other battle anime
What's first?

one of my favorite things about gintama is that there are no special weapons. the characters themselves are entirely powerful, so it doesn't matter what they wield. the true master doesn't blame their tools.....
0:11 can't take this line seriously anymore
Gintama memed on Takasugi's line to much
I like to think that the "Lupin janai, Zura da" sentence is on purpose because Katsura almost became Zura like in the Zura mode when Zura vs Shokaku in the Rakuyo battle arc but Katsura choose to run away in this fight.
Seeing Gintoki and Zura fighting is always a treat.
1:53 is where the action starts.... just in case you feel like rewatching it 100 time more or maybe more
4:38
"HAHAHAHA! sARAbA!!"
legendary
I fucking love Katsura lol
watch at .25 speed to fully appreciate Gintoki and Katsura's fighting skills, and also to laugh at the sheer terror on those amantos' faces.
1:55 この音楽の入り、マジで鳥肌ものだった
I love how Gintoki tempts straw hat in to a cross guard then kicks the daggers out of their hands.. it's soo easy to forget that Gintoki is the master.
3:18 one of Katsura's best lines
The best thing about this line is that Katsura remembered saying that in the Kintoki arc
The fight choreography is just brilliant.
4:39 My favourite part 😂
Normally I'd be annoyed at fights with many enemies when all the enemies stop attacking, but this scene only does it at the very end after Gintoki killed their leader so it makes sense they stopped attacking because they were probably discouraged.
Also, the fighting choreography is sooo good here!
In any war troops morale plays important aspect to keep soldiers fighting, just look at Battle of Yarmouk when measly 40k arab troops eliminated 150k strong byzantine legionnaires in an open field
This fight budget can cover entire animes
Funny how they do best fight ranking without gintama
紅桜編で銀時と桂が揃う所毎回鳥肌が立つ。普段ギャグってるけど、戦う時は誰も勝てない所にギャップ。バクチ・ダンサーが流れる所が完璧すぎる。
I have watched close to 300 shows but none of them can I compare to this masterpiece. Its just in a league of its own.
man gintoki's such a badass, during this fight he used different weapons and styles.
sword, dagger, spear, dual wielding sword and then back to one hand sword XD
will never get tired of rewatching this, especially the last duel with that feint at 3:40 to make him raise his guard to then kick his knives away its just perfect. :)
I was there from beginning to the end, every single episode, every single filler, every single parody arc, best decision I’ve ever made in my whole life
Gintoki and Katsura fighting back to back and side by side always makes me so happy. Ahhh I love them both so much!!!
"the world doesnt always turn out the way we want, changing a friends mind is tough let alone the world" man thats a deep especially coming from this series
Okay, I watched this scene around 30 times in the last 3 hours. Does makes this even better with Godly animation and the best characters...
Dang these scenes and that song! Gintoki taking out these 3 green insectlike guys in the air was so pleasing
Coolest fight scene ever...atleast for now, we shall see in the shogun assassination arc :D
Gintoki vs Takasugi was so fking epic XD
The latest ep end has me so hyped...i think i'm going crazy
iminjungle lol me too i cant wait T.T
+Nozoyashi XIII That was the best fight ever, I mean EVER
You should check out Sword of a stranger, epic anime movie with great fight scenes
1:56 You just know shit's about to get so tight
4:50 i like the little detail of Gintoki panic adjusting so he wont get a facefull of Lupin-Zura-Katsura's crotch lmao
just noticed this awesome "foreshadow" if you can call it, Katsura says "Zura da" because he is in Zura mode, he isn't running he is fighting recklessly.
Every time I watch this I have to watch it at least twice. Once for the music and once for the animation otherwise I keep getting distracted by one of them ending up going back and forth between them.
This is just a brilliantly put together scene.
One is losing his restraint toward sugars and other one lose some IQ. Nevertheless they didn't get their title for nothing.
The timeskip proved that Zura when serious is as smart as ever, he just got a bit loopy.
the moment I realized that 3:40 gintoki pretended to attack from upwards to make the enemy crossed his daggers to defend and that allowed gintoki to kick his daggers off and unarm the enemy. GINTOKI IS SO COOOOOOL😭💖✨
5:15.... I'm sorry I keep laughing so hard at Gin clinging to Zura looool
Favourite song in gintama, one of the most epic battles in gintama, one of my favourite quote in gintama and 2 of my favourite characters in gintama. Best scene ever (but not the best film lol)
Behinderte Wolke what’s the song?
Ok so *Gintoki* has a katana for like 5 seconds.. goes off screen for 2, shows up with a dagger in his mouth, Zura screentime, Gintoki slices someones neck with the dagger, grabs the enemy's goddamn spear then proceeds to kick some ass, knocks someones weapon out of their hand and oh look, a KATANA, and then we got that cool 2:45 scene where he knocks em' WITHOUT USING HIS FRIGGING' HANDS AND THEN KILLS THEM WHILE STILL AIRBORNE, does a cool flip and lands RIGHT UP close to the camera (yes) then continues to slice ppl and be the amazing character he is
3:45 the " I'm going to die, aren't I ?" Face
bansai at the beginning listening to otsu-chan lmao. takasugi’s right hand man is a pop idol’s producer. that’s why gintama is so great, it can’t take itself seriously (for long)
4:39
The fight got me crying, BUT THAT LAUGH GOT ME CHOKING
Gintoki still has the smoothest moves in the game
Kind of sad to remember that it was also their (Gintoki and Katsura) task in the past to let their comrades escape while they fight the enemies.
@@syafiq7026 and they buy Pocari after that
The thing I like the most is that in most episodes.... gintoki and katsura act like complete doofus...katsura rapping and all...that when the actually fight you're genuinely awestruck #foreveryorozuya
3:55 the hardest exchange of words in all of anime
Their teamwork is just perfect.
Gintoki and Zura: don't want to do Joui business anymore
Harusame: *shows up anyway*
Gintoki and Zura:
Rewatching back Gintama I noticed the 3 strongest Armando clan was mentioned several times : Dakini, Shinra, and Yato Clan. Even Gintoki have hard time fighting them
2:44 it's still one of the epic fight scene ever!
For 2 guys that constantly fuck around, Gin and Zura do not fuck around...
You know I just realised this is the first real example of Runaway Kotaro that we ever got
Kotaro janai. Zura da!
