I miss a time like these in Nigeria when people really were involved in thier local government and governance. Most people were not there for any immediate dividend unlike today. The government was working, they saw what the government was doing and they were just happy to go there to show a sense of appreciation to the governor.
But then whether you choose to admit it or not, there was something wrong with us even during those times and those times gave birth to the present day democratic era.
Absolutely, I can agree!!! Simply put, had Akintola been supportive & maintained to play the Deputy role to Awo regardless; that duo would have conquered the majority in 1959 & Awo would have been the first republic President. With Awo as the President, no doubt he would have taken care of the people & his family (if you know what I mean). He would have been successful structuring the country in a way that the tumoulous environment of today would have been avoided permanently. The man was just smart. But with Yoruba people, everyone wants to run & be the Oga now like it's the last chance.
