I AM AN IRONMAN 🤘
12 months ago I couldn’t swim, and never ran over 10km.
I gave myself 11 months to prepare for one of the hardest Ironmans in the world 🌎
My aim was 13hrs and I managed to complete it in 12hrs 21 minutes.
The dragon threw everything at us yesterday but we pushed through 🐉
Well done on completing the hardest course in Europe on a “hard” day. I love that you led with the thanks, very humble.
The course was so hard and that swim is the worst water I’ve personally ever witnessed at an IM event. The bike was brutal, you look like you’ve got a great position dialled in

Great video, especially the race analysis at the end. I was a first timer on Sunday and managed by some miracle to scrape in under the cut off. Nice to hear your views about the swim portion which was unforgettable, makes me even prouder to call myself an ironman. Good luck in Portugal.

Such a great video and write up. 100% inspirational. What a fantastic time for your first full IM, you should be very proud. Love the last words, there’s IM and then there’s IM Wales. It’s definitely on my bucket list but first I need to complete a full distance and am looking into Bolton. Wales would definitely be next.

I would say that the Bike course in Bolton is horrendous, I haven’t done it myself but apparently it’s not very safe! Run is flat though 👌🏻
Yes it looks pretty brutal with 3 laps and on some poor roads. Support is supposed to be great but the big tick for me is a lake swim as I suffer with sea sickness. If I can conquer that I would love to do Tenby for all the greatness your video shows, it looks the best and has such a great following.

@@LewisfromUA-cam I have but forgot them when I did Weymouth 70.3, even though it was calm conditions I still felt rough. I think I just need more practice in the sea and will hopefully get over it. Tenby sea conditions looked far from calm which is why I am doubting my ability. I agree with you the bike course looks better. You’re doing IM Portugal this weekend, best of luck with that.

@@LewisfromUA-cam yeah I had cramp on the second lap - managed to cling to a safety board while I sorted it out - great event and the boats did an awesome job

Yep! Tenby is always 111miles, I started a tad late. I think it’s to accommodate the extra T1 transition.
