A German living in the UK? That's a bit of a different one! I am a Brit living in Pennsylvania in the US since 1990. I learned woodworking at school only. During CV-19 I decided to start to put a shop together and invested in machines. I bought some of those machines you mention in the video (Felder) and even a 5' x 10' CNC Router with ATC. I have a close friend who is a CNC genius so this helps. I had worked for a Swedish company (a sister company to Gotwald) and they screwed me over resulting in a separation a few months ago. Fortunately I had made enough $$$ to retire at 57 and search for new horizons in my life. Woodworking is one of them. My whole basement and 3 car garage is an almost completed woodworking shop. The two things I need to finish is 1) Woodwoking bench, and 2) Assembly table. I'm drawing on inspiration from several guys like yourself for ideas. Dennis from "Hooked on Wood" has good modern ideas on this and many more others. One thing I am trying to avoid is getting on the "FESTOOL" bandwagon. The shit is too expensive. Anyhoo, I enjoyed the video and I also watched it in it's entirety. I usually skip through and fast forward. Good job, and good luck on your journey!
Thanks man :) yeah im still far away from a complete shop. Regarding your assembely table i just bought a used standing desk and put some weels on it. Its been really usefull not just for assembely but also as a second hand in the shop.

Only potential issue I could see is maybe a workpiece stability issue if you’re working on the edges of your bench. But that’s just a possibility. I’m not sure if it will give you problems. Beautiful work bench! Proof you don't need to use super expensive wood to make a great table. Stain could have been added if you want a particular look too. Great job!
Anes, your English sounded fine. One thing I've learned (been speaking American English my whole life) from traveling is that English is both syntactically complicated and varying among the countries that speak it and the regions within those countries that speak it. lol Nice work on the bench. Rounding the the front vise's jaw was a nice touch. Really add something to the look of the bench, but also removes the likelihood of hitting the more sensitive areas of your body with sharp or blunt corners. Well done Sir!
Great video I enjoyed watching. I’m thinking the horizontal drill press could be used as a wood lathe simply by adding a tailstock assembly on the opposite side. Add a banjo by installing it to T-track. Might not be your thing but at least I’m not commenting on tool safety. Seems others have that covered. 🙄
Great video - thank you! Please, please, please don't ever have your left hand below the base of your trim router like that - if the router bit catches and the router kicks back, you could easily find your router in your hand or arm before you know it. Be safe! Subscribed 🙂
Your bench turned out quite well. Nicely done. Consider getting a quality set of Forstner bits. Those giant drill bits are too aggressive you’ll break a wrist. The difficulty you had setting the top over the legs was because the PVA glue had swollen the tenons. Something with longer open time like Thixo or polyurethane glue makes things like this much easier. Chamfered dovetails look great! When you drill or screw a bunch of holes you can’t use, whittle pieces of wood to fit them and tap them in with glue the flush cut.
Yeah i really need to get a good set of forstner bits... I love using pu glue, defenetly need to get some! just wanted to keep the build a little cheaper
I had a plastic one that came with the mashine and it broke on like the third time using it... Since then ive just been using random chunks of wood. I need to make a proper one one day
@@AnesCreates I don't have a table saw, but I have heard good things about the Microjig Gripper, and Milescraft makes a similar but lower priced version of the push-thingy. Please google it, because those cust looks unnecessary dangerous :)
Nice bench design, well presented, but using treated wood for a bench in the states is a BIG no-no. I don’t know the chemical makeup of your pressure treatment. Breathing all that arsenic (green color) when you’re routing and sawing without can really stunt your woodworking career (chronic illness over long exposure). Have a safe career.
I’d strongly encourage you to adopt some genuine, disciplined safety practices when using your tools. Without doing so, this could well be the final thing you make while still having two hands or ten digits.

Why use treated wood? Are you leaving the bench outside?
I couldnt find untreated wood for the same price, i would have prefered untreated.
