I’m 17 & being that I will graduate this summer of 2021 being that I could tow my 93 idi behind a bus allows me to keep my truck & have plenty of storage for my stuff & have plenty of space to live. I think the bus platform is just better built & can take a little more miles than the traditional rv that has a lifespan of abt 100k.
Just found your channel and immediately subscribed. Not many schoolie owners are hunters, and I’m glad that you’re showing the world an alternative point of view.
Sweet to hear that it was built in Mt Pleasant Iowa! This is my hometown. Fun fact... every male relative that I have worked at Blue Bird until the day it shut down. I have many good memories of running around that factory! Crazy to think that in the late 80's and early 90's that they would just let kids roam that place during operational hours. It would be awesome if the bus could make it to Iowa at some point!!! KEEP ON KEEPIN ON brother!
Nice paint job on the bus. Yes, Skoolies are so much cooler than any camper ! Love your idea of the additional tent room. Would be nice if it could also be used as a screen room too, so that you can still see the views, but without the nasty bugs that bite. Have fun & safe travels.
That is a way cool conversion ya have there! The tent addition is far-out and I'm kinda surprised more people don't use one as well.I dig the fact that you painted it and it looks great. Right on! ..............................PEACE!!
Awesome video ! I have been seeing a few of cool photos of the bus I'm happy to see a full tour ! Thank you for sharing and keep spreading the WORD. also thanks for a lot of good ideas !
Nice and simple. Like it a lot. Very usable, all other conversion shown are made to live full time in. One thought about your CampChef oven/stove, other than they are really great. You modify your countertop to drop/lower the stove to a lower level. That way you're not standing on your tiptoes frying hash browns. Good job!
Awesome build....has everything you wanted in it! I like the add-on tent. I might steal that idea for my 20'travel trailer. Happy hunting and keep your powder dry.
Nice job man! The no start 'vandalock' when the rear door is latched is standard on school buses. It's nice for security and avoids theft if you happen to leave the keys laying around.
I'm curious how easy/hard is it to set up and put away that tent? Also, where do you store it, roof rack? Love the inside of the skoolie, it's very efficient.
It takes a little time to set up if I'm solo, but if there are a couple people it is super fast. poles and tent just go in the back door of the bus and stay there when not in use. That extra space is a game changer though
Not a bad build. Nice & simple. I’d like to do one as a toyhauler. Modifying the rear into a dropdown door/ramp would not be all that difficult. What worries me is the roof line where it meets the walls may have to be modified so the cage/roof of our sxs fits.
Incredible design congratulations on your adventures with your family and friends my dad ,brothers went hunting a lot they are all gone but one brother I love bow hunting it’s easier and quicker and quieter than a shotgun or pistol my five sisters too .you must have a lot of different permits for different states enjoy life thank you for sharing
That's a nice build, but you got ripped off on the bus. RVs are built like crap, I've cut up 2 and scrapped em as well as 1 travel trailer, I wouldn't ever have another. IF your LP heater is producing just a blue flame it CAN NOT kill you with CO2, it will burn all the oxygen out of the air and smother you to death factually. I run 2 in my 40' bus and don't open the windows using a O2 monitor. I like the tent setup but man that must be a pain to deal with all that stuff when pulling up stakes and moving.
@@soholtbrothers Hey if your happy that's all that matters hero. Growing up I thought a flat nose bus was the ugliest thing and well I'm sitting in one now LOL. While I don't have to worry about the trans ever giving up, the electronics on it are so expensive I'd buy another of these for doner parts, it's 3k for the push button panel on it, crazy stuff.
Very cozy looking, would love to camp with that set up... I would prefer to be able to have at least some water storage and a sink if not a shower or toilet. Just makes it easier to be hygienic but that’s me as a mum hypothetically taking three kids away! Who would be happy as sleeping in the tent haha
Love the bus. If you stick with your plans on taking this nice bus on tour, film a ride along. Also keep the door on the bus. It represent's Blue Bird's history.
That is an excellent way to expand your living experience ... you should market that ... What you left out is where all that is stored while traveling...do you use the trailer for that ? Tell us about the stove too ... one other thing is there a way to have a window in that outdoor room..
All you would need to do for a windows is custom sew them into the tarp and another piece of fabric that has Velcro to cover over windows ... I’m thinking that you market this and sell it ... You probably would make so much money you would not need to worry about diesel fuel, food , ammo or anything else ever... it’s an ingenious way of expanding living space and you should market it ... 👍
May want to have used reflective paint when painting the bus ...it will retain help deflect heat, thus keep it cooler than just insulation, and the rubberized base coat will help against rain/water related issues.
Amazing bus! looking for more bus ideas to carry more people. less gimmicks and fits more people. I cant live without a bathroom inside for longer trips. Overall one of the better builds on here for what I need.
If your ever in north Texas area I'd love to show you mine. Very similar but I added plumbing. I'd even let you hunt some hogs if no other seasons are open. Heck your a bus brother so I'd let you shoot a nice whitetail too.
Very nice interior layout love the canvas. tent edition…..
Small ATV is the icing on the cake😂😂😂😂😂
That tent really ads to your living space we may have to consider something like that when our bus is complete. Thanks for sharing.
We lived for a couple years in a bus like that when I was a kid. Brings back a lot of memories. I need to fix up another one
💕

Absolutely love your awning room.
Gives lots more living space 🎉🎉
Thank you! Since then I updated it to 10x25’ so it adds even a little more room for activities!
I love the awning idea, so much extra room to party!
Absolutely! It's a game changer!
Just found your channel and immediately subscribed. Not many schoolie owners are hunters, and I’m glad that you’re showing the world an alternative point of view.
Having a clear vision of your purpose gave you a great build. The canvas add on was brilliant!
Great build!! Love the tent idea.
Screw the slide-outs, or a 42 ft Skoolie, just bring along a huge external, yet enclosed, living space....you sir, are brilliant!!!

Love the simplicity. The canvas tent addition is boss. Great hunters tent!
Awsome bus and set up. Thanks for sharing
Every Schoolie conversion video is titled the Ultimate , Most Fantastic, Best or Most Beautiful bus conversion ever.
Most don't live up to the title!
Brother that bus is incredible. I love everything about it. Keep living the dream my friend.

I'm impressed with the add on tent idea. That'd even be a great idea for vanners who need more space without having to get a bigger vehicle
It’s a game changer for sure!
Nice paint job!! Now the bus just needs a name.

Interesting setup.
That awning must make for a good possible mud room/entryway when it's nasty & wet weather outside.
Nice. Pretty sweet setup Sam. I have enjoyed following you on facebook! Keep up the good work.
Love the add on tent
You should make a quick video on how you pack up the tent and all your gear. That would be cool to watch !!!
Yeah, super impressed with the tent idea. I may build something similar but a bit smaller for my travels.
Can’t that tent be done in screen
That tent add on is just badass got no other words but badass
For sure much cooler than a camper ..Awsome job.👍👍
Great setup. That add-on tent is awesome.
Great build !!!! Love it . Simple basic has all your needs great work !
Hopefully I'm buying a bus to live in soon. I was already thinking about an awning for more shade and outside space. This video has helpful ideas.
Sweet looking portable hunting camp!!!!!!!!!
Yep this is my plan ! I'm saving my bus money ..Thanks for bushome tour I loved it

I love the tent great ideal and the paint job
That awning would be great for ppl with little kids! Extra play area love that!!!
Love and admire the lifestyle and the bus brother.. Keep it up 💪 may the road rise up to meet you and may the wind be always at your back!
Great bus , great tour, I too have the same propane stove. But she is still yellow.
great idea with the tent/awning. I think I may have to look at doing that for mine, thanks!
Love the awning. I'm shamelessly taking that idea.
This is so great! You've done an awesome job on the conversion! Have to say...we are a little jealous! Can't wait for more videos!
1:11 “How big are the tires?”
“About this big”
Thanks for some ideas as I'm getting a bus in a few weeks. thank you bud.
Never thought of adding a vestibule/ tent add-on, very unique. Gunna have to build one of these bad boys some day!
Awesome build....has everything you wanted in it! I like the add-on tent. I might steal that idea for my 20'travel trailer. Happy hunting and keep your powder dry.
Nice, very nice donor to convert. I would love to have to this kind of bus.
My man!! Great work!!!!!
Do you need a CDL to drive this bus?
I havent seen anyone with the awning room like that. Very good idea.
Nice job man! The no start 'vandalock' when the rear door is latched is standard on school buses. It's nice for security and avoids theft if you happen to leave the keys laying around.
Nice and simple. Just the way i like it.
Loving your bus. All the best from Manchester UK
So bad ass man! Thank you for sharing and inspiring others! Keep it up !
Digging the simplicity of this bus. Wanting to build a short bus simple like this for me and my kids to unplug on the weekends and holidays
I'm curious how easy/hard is it to set up and put away that tent? Also, where do you store it, roof rack? Love the inside of the skoolie, it's very efficient.

Looking forward to my first Bus. Hello from Alaska.
Awesome bus 🚎

Sweet rig.
Dude, that thing is amazing.
0:02 straight facts right there!!!!
How does it handle off-road?
Want to buy a school bus for conversion , but not interested in a diesel .
What do you think about a GM engine gas 6.0. 366
How big is the bus?
@@soholtbrothers full size bus
Going to be weekend trips and occasional long trip , fyi not a permanent home
My dad says this engine been around a long time , proven truck engine .

Awesome! Definitely should get lots of attention!
Great idea

If you don't mind the question. How are you able to pay for gas amd essentials?
Excited to see what all content you come up with 🤙
This bus is sick! Great work on the build.
That is freakin awesome!! Now i want one!
The song man. Haha, chocoTaco's Outro! Nice videos btw.
Sick bus, love that tent canopy!
Need a pull-down screen to watch movies on the canvas wall. The side tent is an excellent addition idea.

Well done with the conversion!
shut up dean lol :)
tuft and needle is actually a subsidiary of Serta
Nice set up!
Wow you got my dream toy man!
Sam Soholt i dream 2 own 1 b4 i die 😍
Some states do not allow you to keep over-head lights or STOP sign on non school vehicles. FYI.
love the tent extension, I guess people could also improvise a screened in porch, art studio space or dining hang out area.
I like how you made a separate "tent" room vs just an awning. That is boss.
Love the bus. If you stick with your plans on taking this nice bus on tour, film a ride along. Also keep the door on the bus. It represent's Blue Bird's history.
A bus just makes a statement like no other.
How amazingly creative ! Being mobile, one need not obtain housing authority . . . to build !
I love this man super slick hunt camp.
Really love the bedspread - where did you buy it?
Love addition of the ATV♥️😊
The bus can accommodate many people with enough beds, but where do they sit while you are driving?
That is really a nice

Like that tent

You need to take the stop sign off and the red and yellow lights they are illegal in some states
Robert J Cochran some states issue permits or require the lights to be covered. No big deal !
, the eight ways?
Nice project.
If your ever in north Texas area I'd love to show you mine. Very similar but I added plumbing. I'd even let you hunt some hogs if no other seasons are open. Heck your a bus brother so I'd let you shoot a nice whitetail too.
Awesome bro. Thanks for the ideas. Have you thought about putting a couple of windows in your tent?
Of course you have a CO detector, right? Nice to see someone else that keeps a bus build practical....good job.
