Probably a true story, for me. headshots some random kid with a mic 3 times with my gold engie sniper rifle , he sends me trade for it, he offers a a fists of steel and a crate.
1.i will give 1 scrap for your unusual burning team captain 2. i want that unusual bills hat or i will hack your account 3.i will give this hat for one of your crate choose wisley
So true. I was selling my demoman hat. Get a trade request, and the dude offers me 2 shitty hats for my maxes head. even though it's not for sale the least you can do is offer me something good
I was expecting Demopan with "Stout ShaKO! For for two two refined!" Gotta love him. The good thing was that I saw it in the thumbnail. Glad that I clicked the video! x3
Lol, pretty much. The other problem is that no one seems to have the items you want or wants to buy the items you are selling. Instead, they want the ones you are wearing or the ones you are using. For example, "Hey guys, selling a few stranges, trade me and see em". DUN DUN. *click* "Yo, I'll give ya 2 buds for your Strange KS Machina" "Nope, not for sale. These are" Trade cancelled by xX1337Xx. I hate that. I'm selling what I'm selling so that I can buy what I want to buy and the things I'm wearing/holding ARE NOT FOR SALE! Buy my other crap instead!
Uber medic more like people who dont read the chat when i dont want to fight on my favorite trade server there is always at least 1 fucking guy whos an bitch whos ignorant of chat
i remember when trade servers used to be cool, i mean when TRADING at all used to be cool when it was JUST a ingame feature, now there's "please check this and this and this and this, trade offer sent. Ok R U SURE U WANT TO TRADE? yes. REALLY? R U SURE? yes!, GREAT! NOW CONFIRM THIS AND THIS, THIS ASWELL. THERE WAS AN ERROR COMMITING THIS TRADE, NO ITEMS HAVE BEEN EXCHANGED, PLEASE TRY AGAIN. p.s: i know that valves been taking these extreme measures to protect US from scammers and its good that they at least are taking action towards that. BUT, its a bit annoying heh and I KNOW THAT U CAN DISABLE YOUR EMAIL CONFIRMATION ON YER PROFILE SETTING, dont even start, BUT i still prefer doing these annoying steps then not having their support if anything wrong happens.
You forgot the guy who is selling something for a good deal, but people still lowball it. That is the main reason why I don't trade much anymore... I try and sell a black fast learner for a key flat and people tell me "the paint is worth nothing." When I check the person's profile, it almost always says they have >100 hours on the game, or somewhere in the 100s. It just saddens me that the entire point of trading - learning prices, learning the market, and "selling your stuff" in a smart manner - has been lost to the retardation of speadsheets and pricing guides where people blindly follow 'suggestions' rather than actively looking for recent sales and figuring out a good price by themselves. Hell, the other day I traded a guy and he wouldn't even follow a link I sent him which had the item he wanted for a good price, simply stating 'just tell me the prices.' He didn't suspect me of any scams or anything, he was simply too lazy to copy paste a link. It's this lazy fuckin' attitude that really makes me hate TF2's community trading wise, and that mixed in with a lot of people trying to pull a pawnshop-like deal (aka 90% off or no deal) is just disgusting. I know that AcesGamer holds a similar opinion, but goddamn... It's gotten worse, hasn't it.
I agree that people just want to make as much profit as possible and are kinda assholes but maybe the guy you sent the link to was skeptical, maybe you were just some dude trying to give viruses to people it was simply a smart move in my eyes
Ah 2011, back when keys were 2ref and we got more than just re-skins every update, not just whenever Valve feels the game is losing interest. Now keys are 14ref and we have end of the line which added F***ing ducks, a shameless cash grab that re-used the duck model and sounds from the halloween update. On an unrelated note Fun fact, i used to be that spy and traded away all the duplicate crates i had, turns out some of those were worth a key because some of them had items worth over 2 keys.
Yes, but it still doesn't guarantee a good one, most items apparently are not even worth a single key, at least in my experience, that Valve conference I saw long ago didn't take into account how the marketplace has some stuff for really cheap.
"Trading vintage rift axe for 20 refined or 10 keys"...my..god.. the sudden realization that this was back when keys were 2 refined.. 20 refined today will get you just a bit over 2 keys..My how the economy has changed..
Well, when I put up that message, keys were 8.33 refined so neither I nor you are wrong. Though I can honestly say I am thankful keys are going DOWN in price for once.
LegoGod663 I've seen people selling keys for 10.33.. I mean good god, why are people so darn greedy in tf2 now (disregarding world wide greed right now) I still sell keys for 5.33 because I feel anything above that is a ripoff, I mean.. just why.. It doesn't help that buds are once again in a state of constant descending prices.
Yeah, for people who care: I just met a kid who wanted 2 weapons (Boston Bacher and Homewrecker) for a Sandvich. It said "On that way I make profit". When I traded with someone else for only 1 weapon, it raged and screamed like someone stole its lollipop.
This is 100% accurate...I love how people on Trade Servers think that Guillotine/Sandman is a F2P loadout when it's one of the harder combos to pull off consistently.
I remember back in the day when finding a hat, or crafting one, was really exciting! Now it's just a common event, mainly through trading. Almost everyone has dozens of the things. I also miss having to meet loads of achievements to receive the weapon unlocks (Medic for example).
You got a sub for this, ive seen this on every single trade server ive ever been on. Also, the part with spy trading crates makes me laugh everytime XD
This accurately sums up trading in tf2. There will always be that one guy that doesn't know what each wep/hat is worth, or the guy trying to scam you with cheap weps, and that guy trying to get rid of his crates.
KoOkiEzRoCkz Who the fuck crafts tokens these days? I mean okay, there are some people who want to have *everything* or at least *as many different things as possible*, but tokens? "Yo, this page has Scout items, but *just* in case I made a token so everyone knows which class can wear the Bonk Helm if they check my inventory!"
Your comment about how people don't know how to handle their money and waste it on unusuals so brought my mind to Mattie. With his $36K backpack. And the spy trading with crates reminded me of myself, when the s. huntsman came out and I thought a key could buy anything. Of course... I did not get my huntsman.
I have been using UA-cam for around 7 years now, and I have never, ever, ever laughed this hard before. I can't even make it through the spy's crate trade without dying. Thank you.
I remember when i first watched this video and couldn't understand how it was a problem. Now that I actually own something of value, I can relate to this heavily.
if you are selling hats for 1 rec more than it is i was gonna sell a bonk helm for 1.66 (max price) then i found a guy and i thought: "hmmm, 2 ref for meh!" and i succsessfully sold it (one of the things he gave me was a football helm so i sold that for 1.33 accidently then i asked the guy for 1 extra rec soon after then by super luck he gave me a bucket of Mann co orange paint!)
Fits it 100%. I get random tradeinvites every 5 minutes because of my hat and I'm not even on a trade server. Trading this, trading that. Sometimes I wish they would just reset the game to 0: No hats, no new weapons, no trading, nothing.
This is why I only have three trading servers on my favorites list. They're the only ones that GO anywhere. (The stuff that happens in this video still happen. It's just that the people are much easier to deal with, and things get done a lot faster.) Extra hint: Never get on a trading server with a backpack mod and very patient players unless you want to be stalked forever.
thank you for pointing out how ridiculous trading is on tf2 most of the times. I always hate going on trade servers when I'm looking for the weapons I like.
I can relate to this so much, as far as to the fact that my cousin is the type that thinks he can convince anyone with his stupid crates and theyre not even salvaged
Every time I try to sell my shit, people either trade me trying to sell THEIR shit, or they try to buy 40+ of my weapons for a hat, because some people probably fall for that.
from what i've seen about 90% or more of the time i've spent in trade servers there's always hat, strange and vintage trading as well as that one person who's trying to sell crates, but barely any normal weapon trading. Also there are people who own cars only to show them off instead of driving them.
I get the same thing; I go on trade servers to sell hats/buy strange parts, and I keep getting trades from people who want my stranges or want to sell me a bunch of crappy weapons.
This always happens... I was selling REF for a Cremators conscience and a person invited me to a trade and then he said in chat " What is that" I asked him "What? The Refined?" And then he said " OMG KID THE CREMATORS CONSCIENCE" I quit the trade after I said " Why did you trade me to ask me what the item was..." It's hard to find a item without so many other trades for other items you have or someone asking what it is, OR asking for alot more... After a long time SOMEONE finally got me it, it took me hours of useless trades
We didn't have 2 million crates back in 2011 and unusuals are by far the dumbest addendum to TF2, since they're nothing but Sniper magnets and huge "I dunno how to handle money" signs, which disqualifies them as mentionable items. At least from my point of view.
Weird, your forgetting the kids who mic spam on these servers, and the trolls and or trolldiers that run around instantly killing people out of no where and the unusual wearing players sitting in spawn switching hats with each other for the entire period of the video, with a sandwich, holiday punch, heavy running in the middle with mic spammers using music and or sound bytes re-enacting GayPeniz
This happens to me as well, it seems people suffer from "I can't readosis" I type "Selling some hats and items for offers-send trade" and all people's minds proccess are the words "trade" and they have no reason why they send me a trade for.
This actually happened to me. A guy wanted mad milk for black box, i told him i know it is a joke, but he was confused. I gave it for free. Best trade ever.
Fortunately I haven't seen this side of trading that much. But it still happens. The most recent incident of it was someone asking for my Cremator's Conscience.
Trade servers for me is pure chaos. Not in terms of how it's mainly servers that permit fighting, but you get the idea. But I'm surprised! Max owners getting called furries? Really? I can say that what I go to is partially like in this video, only sometimes, twice as frustrating. Good video lad! good video!
if the heavy has such valuable hats/items he's obviously going to know what there worth. so why on earth did they even bother tradeing with him?! greed? stupidity? inexperience? (love the video by the way.)
lost it at the spy trying to trade his crates xD
you forgot those tryhard snipers killing everybody they see
That map was pretty unprofitable for that.
I so much miss the old trade servers where people actually came to trade...
Yep, instead of trading people what is available for trade, they want something else that I'm NOT trading. -_-
Probably a true story, for me. headshots some random kid with a mic 3 times with my gold engie sniper rifle , he sends me trade for it, he offers a a fists of steel and a crate.
I hate this shit.
If I'm *wearing* a hat, chances are I don't want to fucking sell it.
I'd say poor Hoovy, but he's got earbuds and a Hat of Undeniable Wealth and Respect. He ain't poor!
Lol XD
Spy killed me with his offer,
And heavy's NO seemed funny to me
1.i will give 1 scrap for your unusual burning team captain
2. i want that unusual bills hat or i will hack your account
3.i will give this hat for one of your crate
choose wisley
Lol i cant choose one of them
Atleast theres no unusual bills hat...
2. id like to see him try
*hacks account*
3. depends what hat. and only for a shitty salvage.
Saud Dehan There is at least one unusual bill's hat.
Spy added: Mann Co. Supply Crate
Spy added: Mann Co. Supply Crate
Spy added: Mann Co. Supply Crate
Heavy: NO!!!!
Trade got canceled
I hate when people random trade me for my unusual I'm wearing. Just cuz Im wearing it, doesn't mean its for sale...
So true. I was selling my demoman hat. Get a trade request, and the dude offers me 2 shitty hats for my maxes head. even though it's not for sale the least you can do is offer me something good
-crate-
-crate-
-crate-
-crate-
Do people actually act like that spy and just offer crates?
***** As a F2P I always did that. Thank god I upgraded...
codgamer18877 You can, but you get untradeable items, I used crates that people gave to me for free
Yep. One of my friends on Steam is a kid, and he offers me crates every now and then.
General Snuggles lol
In premium minds like us yhea ive got premium and unusual is 10 keys in f2pers mind an unusual is 2 crates and maybe if ur lucky u get 1 weapon
I was expecting Demopan with "Stout ShaKO! For for two two refined!" Gotta love him. The good thing was that I saw it in the thumbnail. Glad that I clicked the video! x3

So true. These people fucking piss me off.
Dude, if I'm holding it, wearing it, or have it equipped, it's probably not for sale. Ya know???
You forgot about the 'friendlys' whining for being killed.
Because some people want to play the game different way and be just wierd then assholes destroy it.
Well most people that kill friendlys are f2p on trade servers
Uber medic
more like people who dont read the chat when i dont want to fight on my favorite trade server there is always at least 1 fucking guy whos an bitch whos ignorant of chat
jake riley-cross Key weapons an f2p uses:
Machina
BrassBeast
Default Flame Thrower
Natascha
PcSlash and they dont use that

Most computers are protected with this thing called an anti-virus software of some sort and I'm pretty sure that guy had it too...
don't forget to pay the 'massive unusual overpay' if you want 1on1...
Frank Shang Hey frank, What anti-virus software? o.O
Because I click on every random link people send me in tf2.
Ah 2011, back when keys were 2ref and we got more than just re-skins every update, not just whenever Valve feels the game is losing interest.

On an unrelated note Fun fact, i used to be that spy and traded away all the duplicate crates i had, turns out some of those were worth a key because some of them had items worth over 2 keys.
So the items are set when you get the crate? I thought the item was set at random when you opened it.
VanFanel1980mx It lists the items you can get on it :3
Yes, but it still doesn't guarantee a good one, most items apparently are not even worth a single key, at least in my experience, that Valve conference I saw long ago didn't take into account how the marketplace has some stuff for really cheap.

now its 9.33
LegoGod663 I've seen people selling keys for 10.33.. the mann co crate spy is me
1:46 Best Part
Crate overload XD
Zaemon Daniels I was once that person.
Yeah, for people who care:
I just met a kid who wanted 2 weapons (Boston Bacher and Homewrecker) for a Sandvich. It said "On that way I make profit". When I traded with someone else for only 1 weapon, it raged and screamed like someone stole its lollipop.
"trading vintage rift ax for 20 REF or 10 keys" man times have changed
When the spy was loading all his crates into the trade I laughed my ass off xD
*spits out milk* You gotta be kidding me! No trade server even has trades going, only snipers fighting each other from each own's spawn.
Little did the poor Heavy know that the Spy wanted to trade 5 boxes for one Black Box. And they all contained Unusuals and one Mad Milk....
After 3 years, this is still pretty accurate
This is exactly how it works
Love how the heavy was quiet before the spy added the 3rd box, then he shouted "NO!"
This is 100% accurate...I love how people on Trade Servers think that Guillotine/Sandman is a F2P loadout when it's one of the harder combos to pull off consistently.
TF2Outpost in a nutshell
The concept of spy paying with crates alone to get buds or the HOUWAR is hilarious.
I feel bad for spy
I have had enough emotional and physical pain to understand this. Good Video.
I love how the heavy was trading since it's always almost true.
Also, the part with spy trading crates makes me laugh everytime XD
ending= greedy sharkers in a nutshell
This accurately sums up trading in tf2. There will always be that one guy that doesn't know what each wep/hat is worth, or the guy trying to scam you with cheap weps, and that guy trying to get rid of his crates.
Wheres the token crafting guy?
KoOkiEzRoCkz Who the fuck crafts tokens these days?
I mean okay, there are some people who want to have *everything* or at least *as many different things as possible*, but tokens?
"Yo, this page has Scout items, but *just* in case I made a token so everyone knows which class can wear the Bonk Helm if they check my inventory!"
NitestonePlays
Good for you.
:D
WOOHOO CONGRATS
1:23 when my brother farts and it smells very very bad
LAUGHED SO HARD WHEN SPY WAS TRADING LOLOLOLOL
Your comment about how people don't know how to handle their money and waste it on unusuals so brought my mind to Mattie. With his $36K backpack. And the spy trading with crates reminded me of myself, when the s. huntsman came out and I thought a key could buy anything. Of course... I did not get my huntsman.
Why do I see scout shakos in all of these trade servers in a nutshell videos?
Because it was a nice meme back then.
I have been using UA-cam for around 7 years now, and I have never, ever, ever laughed this hard before. I can't even make it through the spy's crate trade without dying. Thank you.
Oh I get it, he was Pyro-Shark! Eeeh?
By the way, fave'd and subscribed. This was bloody hilarious -- and so true.
Still alot better than now when on every trading server there is just f2p's and some playing entirely competitive
I remember when i first watched this video and couldn't understand how it was a problem.
Now that I actually own something of value, I can relate to this heavily.
Pro-tip
If you are not gonna trade hats but only unique weps, go scrap-banking.
But you wouldn't get a wep for a wep. Youd be paying 2 for 1.
Well i am reverse banking and i get 1 for 1.
if you are selling hats for 1 rec more than it is i was gonna sell a bonk helm for 1.66 (max price) then i found a guy and i thought: "hmmm, 2 ref for meh!" and i succsessfully sold it (one of the things he gave me was a football helm so i sold that for 1.33 accidently then i asked the guy for 1 extra rec soon after then by super luck he gave me a bucket of Mann co orange paint!)
Scrap.tf
Now I can just watch this instead of idle for six hours on a trade server and I get the same experience! Thanks Tim.
music from Zelda
Fits it 100%.
I get random tradeinvites every 5 minutes because of my hat and I'm not even on a trade server. Trading this, trading that.
Sometimes I wish they would just reset the game to 0:
No hats, no new weapons, no trading, nothing.
0:25 Painis , Painis , Painis , Painis
It's even better when you say exactly what you are accepting, and that you don't want anything else, and they still do this.
this isactuallyaccurate
This is why I only have three trading servers on my favorites list. They're the only ones that GO anywhere. (The stuff that happens in this video still happen. It's just that the people are much easier to deal with, and things get done a lot faster.)
Extra hint: Never get on a trading server with a backpack mod and very patient players unless you want to be stalked forever.
What was so special about the milk?
Heavy did not have it.
@SgtMarcusEagle I already have all weapons, this was just an example.
Trah Ding Blawk Boux Fourh Mahd Milk
this happens whenever im looking for a specific weapon to play the game with
true story
I died laughing when spy started adding crates to the trade.
sooo true
Sometimes I feel like the spy, then I unbox a hat and i feel like heavy.
Silly video no one trades on trade servers it's a conga fest for 7 year olds
Well I joined steam in mid January 2012
Jordan Berger
And this video is from May 2011.
Your point is... ?
That I joined mid January 2012?
Jordan Berger
That still doesn't give the Conga taunt time travelling abilities.
Tim Timsen Welp, that burnt...
thank you for pointing out how ridiculous trading is on tf2 most of the times. I always hate going on trade servers when I'm looking for the weapons I like.
I can relate to this so much, as far as to the fact that my cousin is the type that thinks he can convince anyone with his stupid crates and theyre not even salvaged
It is an achievement hat, from "alien swarm" the hat is called alien swarm parasite, and it is painted brown.
Yeah I feel for this heavy. If I'm not explicitly offering an item, it's probably not for sale. I don't understand how people don't grasp this.
People like the sniper and pyro constitute 87% of trade servers in my experience... The worst part is when they decline a 3 hat for one deal.
Not sure if talking about outdated crates
or the Fancy Fedora which is the most common of the 9 about-to-retire hats (103,981).
yea, almost every trade server comes equipped with a begger, a swindler, and a troll
but its how kids give up for something that would require more
Every time I try to sell my shit, people either trade me trying to sell THEIR shit, or they try to buy 40+ of my weapons for a hat, because some people probably fall for that.
Jesus. It's so accurate.
It's like this in every game that involves trading.
from what i've seen about 90% or more of the time i've spent in trade servers there's always hat, strange and vintage trading as well as that one person who's trying to sell crates, but barely any normal weapon trading.
Also there are people who own cars only to show them off instead of driving them.
Toenninga, using this music has invoked memories long relegated to the brink of my mind. Thank you for the nostalgic reminder.
"5 keys for my hat, price is firm, don't lowball or I report u lol!"
We didn't have 2 million crates back in 2011 and unusuals are by far the dumbest addendum to TF2, since they're nothing but Sniper magnets and huge "I dunno how to handle money" signs, which disqualifies them as mentionable items. At least from my point of view.

Someone really should make a trade server where trading hats and strange weapons results in a kick or ban
This is exactly what happens when I play on a valve server while wearing my team spirit bills hat.
i always laugh when i see the spy trying to trade the crates with a creepy smile on his face
Trade servers for me is pure chaos. Not in terms of how it's mainly servers that permit fighting, but you get the idea. But I'm surprised! Max owners getting called furries? Really? I can say that what I go to is partially like in this video, only sometimes, twice as frustrating. Good video lad! good video!
As the title says, I witness it, it doesn't happen to me, because I disabled trade invites from strangers.
what's the diffrence, you wont even know that if he didn't use da pony as avatar
if the heavy has such valuable hats/items he's obviously going to know what there worth. so why on earth did they even bother tradeing with him?! greed? stupidity? inexperience? (love the video by the way.)
I lost it when spy started adding boxes. NO! A good minute of laughter there lol
i loled so hard on the trade with the spy, this is exactly how it happens on trades
Oh my god. That was so spot on, it is so true, even today.
Oh my, this is a perfect way to put it.
This is brilliant, hands down.
@OluapPlayer Your friends can't have everything you're looking for, except you accept every single friend invite from people you totally don't know.
I liked the part of the video where it was entertaining and also I liked the part where it stimulated the laughing part of my brain. Good day.
