Dear Nancy, your garden is thriving, and looks absolutely lovely, including, the "reconstructed" chair, and plant stand.💐🌿🌼🌺🍃🌸... I totally agree with, and understand how your reference to scripture so aptly ties in... 🙏🏻🌈 💛☀️🙏🏻
Hello sweet nancy, most of all , thank you soo very much for the scripture reading in Genesis! You have created a beautiful flower garden in harmony with your scripture reading today! So ENJOYABLE! 💕🌷🌼💕
Gardening is my main therapy to relax and feel the closeness to the Lord. My mom's favorite hymn In The Garden runs over and over in my mind as I'm out especially among my roses. You have made your little porch area beautiful and your ideas for incorporating your resale shop finds are inspiring. The garden is such a representation of how God works in our life to provide a better foundation for growth, gives us his Word for nourishment and prunes us (ouch) to bring beauty in our lives. Enjoy the season of gardening and I pray that God brings you some hummingbirds!
Thank you for sharing in The Garden and what it means to you. It's a lovely hymn. Thanks, too, for your hummingbird prayers. I look forward to God answering it! 🙂💗
So sweet that you can prove no space is too small for a garden. WIth thought and love and a little nature... a garden is within everyone's reach. ANd I especailly loved the scripture. I am 72 and have lived alone fir 21 years now. My garden is my happy, peaceful place. I can't wait to get out there every chance I get.
I love your cottage garden Nancy❤ Several years ago when my Mother-in-law passed, I inherited her Sedum Autumn Joy. I love this stuff, it comes back every year, even bigger, and I've given clippings to so many friends and neighbors. I have mine in pots all around my pool, but I'm sure it would do beautifully in the ground as well. It thrills my heart I'm able to share her treasured plant with others😊
Hi Lisa! This is the first time I've planted Autumn Joy in a pot, so I'm glad to hear that yours are doing well. I received a cutting from a friend years ago that I transplanted into the ground and it was amazing. So beautiful. Love the story of how you've passed on your MIL's sedum. Beautiful.♥♥
I so look forward to your videos and I love your quaint little garden. You have given me ideas for my own. I live in a townhouse and have only a small space to work with. This was very helpful! ❤
Tammy, when I was editing the video the thought came to that a little garden like this would be very doable in a townhouse space, so I say go for it my friend! ♥ So happy to see your lovely face pop up in my comments. Hope you're doing well. Thanks for your visits and comments! ♥
Looks so pretty. I did one similar. I also added a small fountain that I had. I love the sound of water. Love the scripture of encouragement. God is so good!!!!
Ms. Nancy I absolutely love your little garden. So inspiring to watch you reuse things you have to make it new again. Always thank you for sharing Jesus with us. Have a Blessed day. Looking forward to the next video. 💐
You have encouraged me with my dirt garden. ; ). I just moved here and have an abundance of rocks. Then the Lord gave me an idea. I will make a dry river bed with the rocks. It will be free too! What a blessing! HE is so good!
Love your idea, Janet, and how the rocks are a blessing. Have you seen my video on my Oregon Cottage Garden? It's on my channel page. You may be interested in viewing it, if you haven't already. We made a dry creek bed with all the rocks we harvested from our lot when we built our home. I felt the same way you do. . .the rocks were a blessing.♥
Cute little cottage garden! Like you, I feel close to God when I'm out in nature, enjoying His creation. There is so much beauty all around us. What a great and wonderful God we serve! Blessings.
I LOVE Japanese maples, Debra. I've had two homes with Japanese maples, and they were so pretty. I hadn't thought of a Japanese maple in a pot. What a great idea! Thank you for the suggestion! God bless you, as well. ♥
Very lovely little cottage garden you created, I love the old vintage chair and the color you painted it is very pretty, thank you for sharing the beautiful Bible verse ❤🌿🙏
Nancy ~ what a beautiful transformation of your patio. I love your painted chair! It's such a peaceful setting, just like you. Great job, and it does inspire me to get busy revitalizing my small backyard! 🌺🌿🌻☝️
What a lovely little oasis you've created for yourself...I especially love the little garden boots...so precious! The Bible has so much to say about gardening that it's hard to not think about the Master Gardener as you work your little patch. Thoughts of how He provides the sun and rain...on the just and unjust...how we plant our tiny seeds in faith unto that day when a glorious bloom appears...how seeds have to die to have life...no wonder we are so comforted in the lessons nature provides all around us! Can't wait to see your garden later in the summer, in all its glory!
I love your little garden. I have astilbes too. I really like them. I always thank God when I'm sitting outside listening to the birds and watching the squirrels and chipmunks. It's my happy place. Til next time!
Hi Nancy, what a Charming Garden you have created. I had an old chair a few years ago. I took the seat apart and put window screen in the seat, for drainage, added potting soil and planted flowers. It was a Fun project. I live in the Midwest, I haven't seen vert many Hummingbirds this year.
Thank you, Ellen. Your chair sounds like the one I showed in the photo in the video. I may do that again someday. I used chicken wire and a coco liner to hold the soil and flowers. Like yours, it was a fun project. Hummingbirds are so sweet. I hope you and I both get some this year!♥
Thank you again for such loving encouragement I so look forward to your adventures. I was just telling my niece how you cleverly re-did walls and made a mobile home classy and elegantly ❤ Love your friend in Christ Jesus, Ruthie
Oh, Nancy! That is absolutely delightful! Thank you for sharing the beauty of nature and God's word. Hope you'll let us follow your garden as it continues to grow.
Hello Nancy. Thank you for sharing your own Garden of Eden. Living in England where we have either too much rain or too much sun, I understand why your plant choices also aren’t always easy. It’s amazing how plants can adapt to conditions though and that’s where extra enjoyment comes from creating a garden space. Yours looks beautiful!
Thanks so much, Jackie. The English gardens inspire me; especially the cottage gardens. I would love to see them in person. God bless you, and I hope you have a fabulous day!💞
I am not a gardener. My grandmother was, my mother in law was and my son inherited the genes from both of them❣️ But I do try and I admire your efforts. You continue to amaze me with your willingness to try, seek, and learn.🌺🌹Thank you for sharing your efforts, successes, and inspiration🌷 ❤️ 🙏! Can you please pray for my little grandson, John James. He has many needs and I love him so. 🙏❤❤❤❤️
Hi Nancy ~ You did a wonderful job with the chair. Your garden is delightful and cheerful. I love the red impations near the purple flowers. Great color combination.
Your garden is beautiful and colorful. It’s a beautiful day here at my home and I’m sitting on my deck watching your video and enjoying your thoughts and ideas. I have been planting flowers, too. It’s so relaxing and nature reminds us God is everywhere. ❤
Looks great! I have a sedum plant that is thriving in a pot in a very sunny window. I, too, used an old chair to be a plant pot holder, but i removed the seat bottom completely and did a small sawing on one side and then added a fairly large round planter that stays put in the chair bottom. It has a lip that hangs on the chair bottom so most of the pot is below the chair.
Your chair planter sounds delightful. I have a very sunny window in my living room where I keep houseplants. I may try bringing my sedum in for the winter and try growing it in that spot. Thanks for the idea!♥
Lovely, Nancy. After living in a house with large garden areas, we downsized after moving to western NC. We now have small gardens so I loved watching you work in yours. There is something so peaceful about a cottage garden and a casual, calming look that doesn’t require any symmetry or rules. Not to mention never ending work! Enjoy the summer!
Thank you, Sue. I agree with you. I've had my share of large gardens, too. And while they are beautiful and calming to walk through, they do take a lot of work to maintain. So, at this time in my life I'm happy with my tiny space. Very manageable and enjoyable. I hope you have a wonderful summer and that your gardens bring you joy! God bless you.♥
What a lovely peaceful garden! I always get inspiration from your posts. I look forward to your scripture reading on your videos. I feel as though I'm visiting with a friend. I hope you have a wonderful week .
Aw, your garden is so beautiful, sweet friend! I was so happy to see your video pop up in my feed today and so enjoyed visiting with you. You did such a lovely job on the chair and situating everything in such a pleasing way. It looks so welcoming and homey. I appreciate you so much and pray God's richest blessings on you today.🙏♥
This is such a welcoming area right by the steps! You dressed it up beautifully Nancy! Your choices of perennials will work so well together...love sedum...it really shines through the fall. The chair is so pretty in the garden - what a beautiful paint color and it makes a great riser for your flowers. You'll have to give us an occasional peek so we can see how the garden changes through the summer! Lovely and well done!!
Hello Nancy, I just came across your channel. Your garden is so cute. I like all the finishing touches you added, and I hope you'll be seeing those hummers soon! I love that you're proclaiming the Lord's goodness! I absolutely enjoy gardening, even more so after I retired 5 years ago. God bless you and your garden !😊
So pretty Nancy! I love gardening and have only a small upstairs deck (7x12) and on my upstairs landing I have a few small plants but no real ground to plant in. I think you chose the a great variety of plants. Oh and I love what you did with the chair.
Thank you so much K Irene. For years I lived in a townhouse with only a small balcony for flowers. I had flowers in containers anywhere I could fit them in. Window boxes, planters on the floor, wall planters. Honestly, it's still one of my favorite "gardens" of all the gardens I've planted. We're only limited by our imaginations. 🙂♥
Your new garden looks very nice Nancy, good job. Be patient with the hummingbirds. It takes ours about two weeks after I start putting feeders out to start coming. You have to be diligent about keeping the food (sugar water) clean and fresh but they will come. I love watching mine so much I have five feeders.
Thanks for the hummingbird tips, Sheila. I just watched a UA-cam video this morning where a professional birder spoke about this subject, and one of the things he said was to "be patient". He said many people put their feeders out expecting visitors within a week or two, but he said it can literally take months because when the hummers first arrive here from South America they are only interested in breeding and not in feeding. So it takes awhile for them to get to the point of feeding. Anyway, the point is that people don't wait like they should and they end up removing their feeders and give up. Very interesting. ♥
Hi Nancy, very beautiful little garden you did a great job. You can make some shade with shades from Amazon I recommend you 80 because the sun can burn your plants but shade is safe for all plants you can make a roof with this shades and the rain can go true. 🍃💛🍃
Love your little garden I have planted my vegetable garden and also have many large planters with plants and flowers Geraniums are hardy and easy to maintain and propagate...colorful too. Thanks for sharing
Sedum will take over if not confined. It does well in part shade and sun. Mine seeds itself here and there. It’s in a huge whiskey barrel which I don’t touch except to remove dead stems etc in spring. I never water or rarely if there is a drought. This year I never touched it. It does fine. Give your four o’clock some bloom boost. Middle number on fertilizer should be the largest like 10-40-10. Just an example. Very nicely done.
My conditions are just like yours so I do container gardening. I can control the soil, water and move them around as needed. I’m in southern Al in the gulf coastal region.
I had that problem last year. This year i shopped specifically for my zone and which plants coild thrive in partial shade etc. Your garden is beautiful!!
Hello I subscribed to your channel. I'm also in the Silver life and I thought I might get some inspiration from your channel. I really love your garden corner. Yes ma'am the Lord God planted the first garden and God loves us all and I am thankful that I know that. God bless you and you have a wonderful day 🥰
Nice choices. I was thinking a hosta that stays relatively small, would be nice behind the astilbe, contrast in foliage would be nice. I hope you get some hummers, as here on the east coast, we only get the ruby throated.
I believe your blue ch air in the garden may be wthe blue from the col. williamsburg color chart by benjamin moore...LOCVE IT YOUR GARDEN IN LOOKING LOVELY. YOUR CHANEL MAKE ME JOYUL AS DO YOU. GOD BLESS LOVE TO YOU.
@A Joyful Cottage thanks for taking time to answer my question. I will continue to look forward to your content...and especially the scriptures you share with us. Take care..🩷
New viewer here. Does your park allow you to grow vegetables? Do they have restrictions on what you can do? It looks great. Thanks for sharing God's word.
Hi Julie! Our park doesn't have restrictions on what we grow. Restrictions have mostly to do with age (55+ only), and you have to live in your own home. You can't rent it out. Also, no pet restrictions, except you can't leave your dog outside where it can bark and bother others. Thanks for visiting.♥
It’s so refreshing to be in your little garden! There’s a wonderful Rudyard Kipling poem, The Glory of the Garden that is quite inspirational for gardens. Check it here.
Dear Nancy, your garden is thriving, and looks absolutely lovely, including, the "reconstructed" chair, and plant stand.💐🌿🌼🌺🍃🌸... I totally agree with, and understand how your reference to scripture so aptly ties in... 🙏🏻🌈 💛☀️🙏🏻

Aw, thanks so much, Judy! You're so kind. God bless you!♥
Very nice garden. We have to have plants on the deck because deers ate all our hostels and any plants we had.
I've had my share of problems with deer in the past, Norma. It's a challenge for sure. I'm glad you have a deck where you can enjoy your plants.♥

It will be wonderful for you to have fresh veggies! Enjoy your garden and flowers.♥
Thanks for the tips, Cynthia!♥
Very nice
Thanks, Diana. God bless you.♥
My conditions are just like yours so I do container gardening. I can control the soil, water and move them around as needed. I’m in southern Al in the gulf coastal region.
No weeding, too!
I had that problem last year. This year i shopped specifically for my zone and which plants coild thrive in partial shade etc. Your garden is beautiful!!
Thanks for sharing! I appreciate your kind words, too.♥
I would angle the chair in the corner
Yes, that's certainly an option.
Hello I subscribed to your channel. I'm also in the Silver life and I thought I might get some inspiration from your channel. I really love your garden corner. Yes ma'am the Lord God planted the first garden and God loves us all and I am thankful that I know that. God bless you and you have a wonderful day 🥰
Welcome and thank you so much! God is awesome!♥
Nice choices. I was thinking a hosta that stays relatively small, would be nice behind the astilbe, contrast in foliage would be nice. I hope you get some hummers, as here on the east coast, we only get the ruby throated.
Hostas are very pretty. Ruby throated hummers are beautiul.

Our hummers are beautiful, but the ones going up your coast are gorgeous.

Hi. Just love your ideas. Thx for sharing with us. I always look forward to watching your channel !
Your garden is lovely.
Was your paint a flat?? ❤
Hi Carol. Thanks for much for your kind words. The paint is flat latex.🙂
Very Pretty! Wish you had taken a larger view of where your garden is located. Is this your front yard or your back? ❤
Thanks, Beverly. This little garden is on the side of my home. It's part of my patio, just off the porch.♥
I love your chair. I did a chair as well. But the paint looks rough or it’s just looking bad. I love this color. What did you say the name of it was?
Benjamin Moore Wythe Blue.♥
Now with the humming bird feeder you could have left the red plant stand.
It’s so refreshing to be in your little garden! There’s a wonderful Rudyard Kipling poem, The Glory of the Garden that is quite inspirational for gardens. Check it here.
I looked up the poem after reading your comment, and I love it! Especially the last verse. Thank you so much for directing me to it. God bless you!♥
