Now that I have watched your videos on battery's and chargers I'm not so fearful of that, but I'm curious as to how complicated of a process it is to connect to my intega goggles and dji controller 2? Do you have to have beta flight to fly all these other than dji drones?
My research has lead me to believe that the DJI 03 Air Unit has 20GB of onboard video storage and that there is a MicroSD card slot on the VTX supporting up to 256GB for onboard DVR. Is this true? I don't know. I'm trying to understand the use case for this drone. Near as I can tell, it's for free-style flyers who want to create content using an external camera as if the DJI 03 isn't good enough, otherwise, it would make more sense to use a considerably larger platform if you want something to mount all kinds of different cameras on. In the FPV drone world there are 4 categories. Pilots can fall into one or more or all categories. So you have: 1. Freestyle FPV pilots. They fly close at high speed and spin/flip there drone around and through trees and buildings. You need a Freestyle well tuned drone for this with excellent video/signal penetration. Using a high speed, high cornering race drone pilots race each other around a course, through gates, at incredibly speeds. Fast reactions are necessary. 3. Long Range FPV pilots. These pilots like 6 or 7 inch drones with an outstanding antenna and connection. They fly long distances using large batteries at high speed hugging the ground up mountains through cinematic areas. 4. Cinematic FPV pilots. Most of these pilots prefer Cinewhoops with down facing motors and high end camera to capture indoor/outdoor video that involves low flying and going through small openings.
The DJI 03 was supposed to provide action camera quality footage while not having to mount a big chunky camera on your quad. Unfortunately you can see from his comparison that a good action camera is quite a bit better than the onboard DJI 03. Personally after paying a steep price for the V1 DJI goggles I have decided that DJI's business model is not compatible with my budget.
I purchased the DoMain 3.6 on the first day and the dropdown just had the option for the receiver. The description said it had GPS. It arrived today (it took them almost two weeks to ship) and there is no GPS and now their website now has the option for GPS. Just thought you would like to know the kind of company you are representing. The main reason I ordered was the GPS. I have several other Mark 5 drone and they are great but this one is going back.
Strange. In the video I mentioned that GPS is an option (a $17 add on). There website must not have been finished when you ordered. Did you watch any reviews beforehand you ordered, or just ordered hoping the GPS was part of the price?
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 There were no reviews posted on the Drone when I ordered but I have several other GEPRC products and like the fact it had GPS and was slightly smaller. Drone Camp put one out later the same day I ordered. I did study the web page very carefully and the GPS was listed as a feature and there were only three options for rec. So, I placed my order thinking it would be Standard Equipment on the drone. After it arrived today, I went to the website I saw it has been updated. I emailed GEPRC hopefully it will be an easy exchange. Thanks for the response.
@@captainbill1721I know when I made my review the website was not 100% updated as it had gibberish/place holders along the top of the screen. @@LuckyPratama71Hmmm… people don’t really fly with external cameras anymore, since the DJI O3 system was launched. There is that Christmas/New Year thing that affects business around the world. China employees take vacation at that time because they know the North American and Europe world pretty much shuts down. Then in mid January China has a forced shutdown for the Chinese New Year celebrations. All I can say is that it only takes one link in the chain to shut down to bring everything to a halt. Life returns to normal later this month.

@@malnasimon7041As noted in the video, if I fly for 5min, I don’t show the viewer 5 min of flight video as there are many boring parts so a 5 min flight might only show 3 min of video in the review, hence the counter for 5 min is compressed into 3 min. This is mentioned in the video.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I understand that very well, but why does your second counter then not count seconds? Those "seconds" are way too short. When the counter then reaches 240, you tell that it was flying for 4min, which is just not true, because the counter was counting too fast.
GEPRC makes good quads, but has horrible customer service and the slowest shipping times known to man. I have a Tern LR40 that took a month to arrive and an 8" LR That is over 3 weeks and still no word. I had to file a claim with Paypal to get GEP to provide a tracking number on both quads. Here is a tip. DO NOT WRITE TO THEM IN ENGLISH!!! Instead, write your email in perfect English with no contractions. Then translate it into Chinese or Mandarin, then send it to them and you should receive a response in Mandarin that you just have to goggle translate.
You are starting to look like Beeker from Sesame Street! 250g must be the limit between killing someone or something if it stops flying. Or the FAA had to borrow a scale from the DEA and that is the limit they had it set on for weighing crack. Who needs another 500 dollar drone? Memememememememe!
I've been watching your video's off and on for years. Sometimes it's weird though. At times it feels like you're part of the drone hobby and know what your talking about, but other times it's like you're a flim-flam man and willing to say what ever is impressive. It's just so weird. For example near the end of the video you say you could stick a Li-ion pack on and get "I don't know 20-30min of flight time" I was like what? who are you? do you even fly bro?... Like I seriously doubt you think a drone that's getting 6 min flight time can get 20-30 min with a lithium ion pack, so why say that? It's dishonest and sets up false expectations. I have kept watching your videos because your channel felt like it was focused on reaching new pilots. It's always felt like you were focused on tinkering with the drone hobby on the edge... not so deep into the nitty gritty, like motor kv and pid tuning etc. I just don't believe you know that little about drones. For anyone else who reads this. A li-ion pack will give you half again your flight time on average, maybe a little more... so a 6min flight will be 9-10min. If you get double, you're hovering in a updraft with unicorns for propellers. 20min requires some real effort, cutting any un needed weight on the drone and making compromises you probably don't like. And 30 min means you have spent months learning and figuring out exactly what you can get away with, including modifying your power deliver system (ESC) so it ramps up and down power to the propellers smoothly and slower. DJI gets long flight times because they seriously reduce the performance of their drones and have spent big money researching how to stay in the air as long as possible. Probably 1 in 5000 (or less), hobby drone pilots have a hand built drone that flies 30 min.
Not exactly true about the liions...on my chimera7" I get almost 10mins with 4000mah lipo and I get almost 20mins with a 4200mah liion....maybe that's a phenomenon but 🤷♂️
Yup, a 20min flight time is possible. Obviously, as noted in the vid, the flight is gonna be slow and straight and no external camera. Ok, gotta go and feed my Unicorns now!
The Chimera7 is a great drone. According to what you said you're getting closer to 90% improvement from going liion. Fair enough. If he would have said "double" your flight time I wouldn't have commented. It's been a while since I flew long range so I was a little rusty with my numbers. I was erroring on the side of caution. @@mantyfpv7409
I'll admit double is possible with out mythical animals involved. But 20 min would be OVER 3x flight time, and 30 would be 5x. That is actually approaching the energy density of gasoline. When I heard it, it was just, such an outlandish claim. I was a little over zealous with my counter statement, but seriously ... 20-30 min was too much. I'm just an armchair quarterback, while you're out there doing the testing. I do appreciate your positive energy and the efforts you put into making videos for this great hobby. My main issue was, what if a new pilot gets this quad thinking they're going to be able to get 30min flight time out of it. Then is disappointed when it can never do that. @CAPTAINDRONE798

My guess is that they may send you the GPS module or a discount code for a future purchase. The Chinese New Year celebrations start soon so you may hear nothing but crickets for a while until February.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I am sure they will make it right. Thanks for your help.
With that price ofcourse would be "rarely be so good"!
What do you Need to Set up so you can fly ?
Why dji dont give us night camera for o3 ? O3 sucks at night
No Walksnail?
None. Some FPV drone companies get such a good deal from DJI that they ignore Walksnail & HD Zero.
How does it fly by carrying insta360 ace pro?
It would fly but flight times would be much less due to weight
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I bought this quad because of your video. Now I consider to buy ace pro, so that I really want to know how the drone with ace pro. Is ace pro too heavy?
@@LuckyPratama71Hmmm… people don’t really fly with external cameras anymore, since the DJI O3 system was launched. I honestly wouldn’t place any heavy camera on this drone and expect good flying results. If you are old school and like to fly with a full size GoPro or Ace Pro, then get a 5” to 7” FPV drone.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 got it. I love the tiny size too. Thank you for your response, realky appreciate it.
Hey captain! First of all thank u so much for this awesome video and for your other videos , i really like your review videos! Also i have 2 Q to you.
1- Do you think there will be a big power difference between 4.2" propellers and 3.6"? (For carry big battery to get more flight time)
2- Which freestyle drone (4 or 5 inch) u recommend for me to buy for Cinematic/Longrange ? I really can't decide which one i need to buy and i watched your a lot of videos :D
Thanks from now for ur answers!
The 4.2 props will lift more & possibly add more speed for everyday flight, but for freestyle flying the smaller arms & props are best.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Well thanks for the answer and which drone u recommend for cinematic/longrange as a 5"? Thanks!
@@onuremirogluxAny 5-inch will beat those 4.2"/ 3.6" quadcopters easily. I like the frames of Amax (good design, durable, easy to build, not that expensive).
Anyone know the ending outro song?
You can find it on UA-cam. Search for LOUD AND CLEAR.
Hi Capitan drone. Is geprc actually shipping merchandise? I placed my order last week and they haven’t shipped yet even though that I always buy from them but this is the first time that happens
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 thanks Steve 🫡
Leider 50gr zu schwer.
is this waterproof ??
Hell no
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 please unbox a speed fpv drone there have new feachers and waterproof and wind resester ability and lift some wets . like 2 to 4 kg .,
I built a one with the Manta 3.6 frame and it remind me a lot of that frame but the Manta is a squashed X not a deadcat but no props in shot and it flies like a dream! love your videos though so keep it up!
Where was this shot? Everywhere in the UK atm has long green grass, which is not ideal.
Filmed in Ottawa, Canada
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thanks, you sure have good drone grass out there!
Does this drone can really carry insta360 ace pro without struggling?
That would be too heavy for good flight
прикрепи к нему снаряд от РПГ)))
It's not pink, its Pank!!! Lmao
This drone looks baaad And its very heavy at this size. Its better to fly 4s 3.5 inch 250 sub like smart 35
Have a look at the DJI O3 unit. If you can see it then you will be able to press the bind button. I did all the binding and never removed the side panels.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798how to bind the drone to the rc for the first time?
OMG. Thats very worse.. i just maiden my domain 4.2 same componen but only different in frame and prop, flying with 6s 1100mah got up to 6 minutes with little freestyle. Using 4s 1100mah got 4 minutes
You really need to rock the PROTO5
Ngl that counter ain't countin' no seconds😂. Maybe 2/3 seconds max.
Watch the video again and read the big sign that says some viewers just never clue in to the flight timer.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 ?
@@malnasimon7041As noted in the video, if I fly for 5min, I don’t show the viewer 5 min of flight video as there are many boring parts so a 5 min flight might only show 3 min of video in the review, hence the counter for 5 min is compressed into 3 min. This is mentioned in the video.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I understand that very well, but why does your second counter then not count seconds? Those "seconds" are way too short. When the counter then reaches 240, you tell that it was flying for 4min, which is just not true, because the counter was counting too fast.
@@malnasimon7041I believe I explained it very well above and in the video.
They will not answer their emails and left me no choice! Did I mention that I paid extra for expedited shipping on the quad that took a month.
Here is a tip. DO NOT WRITE TO THEM IN ENGLISH!!! Instead, write your email in perfect English with no contractions. Then translate it into Chinese or Mandarin, then send it to them and you should receive a response in Mandarin that you just have to goggle translate.
Weight doesn't matter to me lololol
Is this a joke?
