Rock/metal is by far the most broad genre. The artists take from every genre and mush it and make it their own. It's more than just screams and power chords. It's also the biggest talent pool of musicians because it's a group of outcasts who wanted to be accepted somewhere else but found a home there. Ronnie is an example.

Also, old, but Linkin Park didn’t do it like this, Slipknot didn’t, no one did.

Nowhere near hwat this quality is though, kinda remind me of what old cobra starship used to do. Hes good solo but he really needs the group to excel, atleast imho.
Awesome reaction. I'm glad you like Falling in Reverse that much. Ronnie is one of my 3 favorite artists (besides Tom and Corey Taylor). I love that he's so honest about his past, feelings and mistakes.
I'm looking forward to 'Drugs' (the song obviously😅).
If you want to learn more about Ronnie's past, I recommend "Destiny" by him. It's older and it was never meant to be released commercial, so it's not that perfect, but still a good song.

Metalcore in general is genre mixing to this level. There are so many sub-branches now and all the big players right now (Falling in Reverse, Bring Me The Horizon, etc) are transitioning into post-genre. Basically once they get big enough they do whatever they want on a song-to-song basis haha. It's great.

It’s a cool thing to do but I wouldn’t call it genius. I think something as simple as a double entendre is more complicated.
@@FlawdTV I find double entendres are too mainstream and easy to do - this is low under the radar witty changing of one word. Both are cool though. I just find double entendres are a dime a dozen but doing that with one word - it is rare to find a word that has double meanings and can blend the end of one sentence with the next line and flow so well.
People hate Ronnie for a lot of reasons, and they get so focused on their hate for him that they completely overlook the fact that he is a musical prodigy that reinvented and created entire genre of music that has staying power and coverage like very few others do.
I think people mostly hate the false claims people make about him which then rubs off on him.

Both of the revamp song are fire, Ronnie is doing such a great job reviving a semi dead genre or time of his life. He cant do it any better and he loves it. He is doing so so well
There are a lot of bands nowadays that are mixing Genres especially bands that were previously Metalcore. Because over the last few years, every Metalcore band has been cookie cutter, so bands like Falling In Reverse & Bring Me The Horizon who have always been ahead of the curve, set the trend for genre blending. But yes, no-one has this distinct sound that FIR has.

Starting out as a rapper and going into rock and metal while maintaining his rap game gives Ronnie unique advantage in the music scene. You never know exactly what you're going to get out of a track until you listen to it.

I never comment on UA-cam but thank you for sayings this genre is different. Loads of other content creators compare this to Linkin park just because its sorta the same sound but Rodney is such a huge difference and you hear it. Linkin park did punk rock and rap for the best they could but Falling in Reverse took Rap and Metal/Emo Rock and Fused them in a way it fits so well. I dont listen to most rap as it annoys me but hearing Falling in Reverse made me try a few other artists I wouldnt have tried before hand in the Rap genre. Didnt stick but I tried
12:20 during the breakdown when you went "oww"or "how" and held your throat, vocalists like this dont use their vocal cords. So he wouldn't be doing damage. They use their diaphragm and the sound is produced typically by how you control your muscles around your mouth and throat

I’m response to “is anyone else doing this?” The hardcore scene has always had rap undertones. I remember some bands even making rap and hip hop parody songs (ie: “rap party” or “bootyhole” by saosin) But the production scale of today’s tech, with intention of melding the genres in a skilled fashion like this is totally something else IMO

There are a lot of rock/metal bands that do this. Check out Fire From the Gods, they mix reggae with metal, Hed PE mixes rap punk and metal, Nonpoint also has a LOT of rap influence too

as much as people hated on Ronnie when he released the song Alone he made it loud and clear that no one will ever stop him from doing things his way, Ronnie is a FUCKING GEM he can never be replaced
Since you keep asking "How?" I'm assuming you're referring to the screaming.
He's using what's called false vocal chords which sits below your natural vocal chords and changing both the shape of his throat and mouth in order to change where the air hits them. When done correctly, it doesn't hurt and does little to no damage to your actual vocal chords which is why he can go from screaming to singing without sounding like garbage. It takes a while to learn but it's definitely not impossible and literally anyone can do it (that's not to say anyone can do it well). I'm a screamer myself and I'm an extremely soft spoken individual when I'm not destroying a mic.

Some "old school" you may want to check out is Tool's Push it & Hooker with a Penis. & for pure genre bending Sturgil Simpson the entire Sound & Fury release, which is also an anime.
Its probably a pedal effect for the guitar. Or it may be a synth function for the keyboard. Could be either. If I had to guess the choir sound is coming from the keyboard and the synth is coming from the guitar.
