Good grief.....not even close......much about nothing. You can take a portion of an under melody of any 10 Pop songs of today, and they will all sound similar......let's move to greater controversies, please. :(
This is some bullshit.... State of Independence bass line is more intricate than Billie Jean, which is a much more simple bass line. I just thought it was Quincy Jones who was good with these deep, interesting bass lines--- I do know Quincy used a lot of tracks on Donna's album, much more than on most recordings. Donna even mentioned it in the liner notes about how she was amazed Q was able to have so many tracks and put them all together. lol Donna Summer HATED her Quncy Jones album, by the way. I told her "hate" is a strong word and she paused and thought about it for a minute, with her eyes searching upward and off to the side as she pondered, and then replied, "Yes, I HATE it."
Jones is just trying to stay relevant. His claim is spurious because it's not even a Donna Summer song. Originally written and released in 1981 by Jon & Vangelis.
What??? Okay, so M.J. was listening to slowed down Donna Summer songs for creative inspiration? It's a stretch for me...If you slow down most songs they'll probably sound like something else. Now, Hall & Oates "I Can't Go For That" I hear "Billie Jean" in that song and you don't have to slow down/speed up the song either.
Thanks for the demo but it's still a stretch to claim that it was stolen.
They sound nothing alike?

ㅤ* SweetFantasea * ㅤ lol Ohhh! I don't really hear it myself but if Q.J. says so...He did produce both records, so he would know.
Play this video at 2x speed and you'll hear the bassline is same in both songs.
Only a tiny bit of similarity to me. But thank you for breaking it down.
Quincy officially said that Billie Jean was inspired by this song. It's a non-debate.
Michael Jackson just improved it
It is definitely different
You can say it about any song if you play hard with a sound😅. 2 completely different songs.
Case closed
Not so much look alike ..
" Billie Jean " is 100 times better
The bass and the tempo is the same. Quincy don’t care no more some of the shit he say may be old man talk. “Have you heard the tale sonny?”
I still believe Michael Jackson copied the Dazz Band's LET IT WHIP when he created BEAT IT
what part? or are you being facetious?
Nope.
I don't hear it at all.
Nope nope. Nope
Have you heard todays crap music ??? Nothings original !! Bring BACK billie Jean i say !!!
Sounds nothing a like... failed
