Man I keep noticing little details. Someone else already mentioned how his Echo is in the starting menu, and how he needs to dodge because even with healing he can't tank the stronger punches. But I noticed in "Round 2" Matt starts layering in his afterimage punches with his normal ones. At first BF doesn't seem to notice since the afterimages aren't echoed, but after maybe the third time he goes far enough out of sync that BF notices. Immediately after BF starts to echo them and then the clashes happen. Also I like the implication at the end of Round 2 that, while BF can only really copy his opponent's skills, he can use them in ways that aren't 1:1 copies of how they were used on him, with Matt taking an afterimage to the face out of seemingly nowhere.

I love how Matt's guard is superior. The only thing BF really has on him is endurance do to his healing. In the really fast portions, BF needs to dodge cause his blocks aren't strong enough for Matt's more powerful hits while Matt blocks every single one of BF's punches, except that last one.
Yeah, Matt doesn't even get once except for at the end while BF gets his ass handed and not only that but even the way they throw punches other than straights and jabs are different. You can tell Matt's shield break is a high-level uppercut(although it some unnecessary movement) and easily breaks through BF's guard, while BF's attempt to break through Matt's guard was a flimsy wind-up punch that someone with no prior knowledge of boxing would've done for more power, he even lets his other leg fly into the air like an amateur. Huge attention to detail.

BF seems to have one more trick up his sleeve than just his signature ‘Echo’. A lil extra technique called ‘FreeStyle’ to trip up the enemy once he gets a better understanding of the abilities he’s mimicking. Not only does it catch the enemy off guard the first time he uses it, but it’s the start of when he fits these moves into his own style to properly counter-attack.

@@TheRealMycelium Maybe or maybe not. I could see how it can work, just don't know exactly how would code works. The WASD Keys (Or the first 4 sets) can be the regular "punch", which works the same way as FNF raps. The Arrows Keys (the second 4 sets) would be the "block", which you have to copy Matt moves from the left. Finally, the Space Key is to dodge, which other mods also use this method. The "Stands" feels like just an addition to the animation and doesn't require a button to activate.
Definitely, when BF did the Echo thingy to copy Matt's Shield Break Matt PARRIED IT ANYWAY, although BF didn't handle the Shield Break not once, but TWICE. (actually three times apparently :/)

Here’s an idea, every time you mess up you get punched by Matt, losing health bar. And during those times where both bf and math sing probably the can both be hitting each other in each song if boyfriend does well he will get a bit in Matt for example if each time he sings and he gets around 2k points he gets a hit on Matt, lowering his hp bar.

So, just noticed something. On top of the fact that Matt parries, whereas BF dodges, BFs stand thing seems to sort of...flicker, whereas Matts doesn't. Really gives the impression that Matt knows what he's doing, while BF's still a rookie.

A lil extra technique called ‘FreeStyle’ to trip up the enemy once he gets a better understanding of the abilities he’s mimicking. Not only does it catch the enemy off guard the first time he uses it, but it’s the start of when he fits these moves into his own style to properly counter-attack.

I could see how it can work, just don't know exactly how would code works.
The WASD Keys (Or the first 4 sets) can be the regular "punch", which works the same way as FNF raps.
The Arrows Keys (the second 4 sets) would be the "block", which you have to copy Matt moves from the left.
Finally, the Space Key is to dodge, which other mods also use this method.
The "Stands" feels like just an addition to the animation and doesn't require a button to activate.

Here’s an idea, every time you mess up you get punched by Matt, losing health bar. And during those times where both bf and math sing probably the can both be hitting each other in each song if boyfriend does well he will get a bit in Matt for example if each time he sings and he gets around 2k points he gets a hit on Matt, lowering his hp bar.

So, just noticed something. On top of the fact that Matt parries, whereas BF dodges, BFs stand thing seems to sort of...flicker, whereas Matts doesn't. Really gives the impression that Matt knows what he's doing, while BF's still a rookie.

Its only the replica of the ability so maybe it cannot have the same power as the original?
That theory also makes the parts in boxing match where Matt activates his thing then while bf copies it he can’t activate it due to not being skilled enough
